Terrible quality!
This motor is terrible! I have a brand new cooler, and this is my first summer season running it. From the very start the noise was LOUD and the cooler rumbled the house like there was train tracks running over my roof. I've been stressing over it for 2-3 months, thinking it was something wrong with the blower fan or the cooler housing, and thinking this would be something I would just have to live with. It turns out the motor was the problem this whole time! The bearings recently developed a very loud high pitched squeal upon startup and stop, and today the motor just gave out and wouldn't run, right in the middle of a 96 degree day. Fortunately I had held on to my old AO Smith motor from the previous cooler, so I was able to swap it and get the cooler up and running again before it got too hot in the house. So, the new cooler is back to running again with the old motor, and guess what, the noise and the rumble from before are virtually gone. I've been pulling my hair out this whole time over the stupid piece of junk Dial motor! I really wish I could get my money back on this garbage. I do not recommend this Dial motor at all. To anybody reading this, please do yourself a favor and look online for an AO Smith or a Century brand motor. It will cost you a little bit more money, but it will save you a lot of trouble and frustration.

This motor works just fine. I've read other reviews talking about some kind of "noise" it makes. I didn't have that issue at all. Make sure you use the correct size of pulley AND that the new pulley is adjusted properly to accommodate the belt. A larger motor requires a different sized pulley. I've never had to replace a motor before but viewed plenty of videos on youtube to learn what I was in for. It was super easy! One thing I came across was the that the old brackets that hold the motor were badly rusted and a little hard to remove. After I replaced them, I lightly sprayed with oil to protect them. I went with the same size motor that was came with it 6yrs ago since I run the cooler on "Low" speed anyway. Evap's are more efficient at this speed so no need for a more powerful motor. The motor has absolutely no noises of any kind!
