We purchased cedar mulch several weeks ago then tried to get more, this was the only thing they had. Bought one bag last eeek another bag today, they look like completely different mulches. Last week bag darker and does not smell like it had any cedar at all. Prefer all cedar but cannot find it

Please be careful when working with this mulch. I made the mistake of not having a long sleeve shirt on and putting my arm in the bag to pull some more mulch out. My whole arm got bitten up by mites …awful.

Purchased expecting “shredded hardwood mulch” as listed and received the Timberline brand. Not shredded at all. It was full of huge chunks, actual rocks larger than golf balls, trash, and even got a chunk of metal and a nail in one bag. Went through six bags in the hope I just got a couple bad ones. Nope. Absolute garbage.

I ordered 30 bags and moved them all into my backyard. When I opened the bag I realized that this was either very old or scraped from the bottom or whatever. So I have 30 bags of dirt now where mulch was supposed to go

The shredded hardwood mulch was just as described. Home Depot delivered on time and exactly where I wanted it. Overall, an outstanding experience.

I have used Timberline Nuggets (75 bags) on my front garden bed and loved the look and performance, and by the way no trash. I have attached 2 pictures of the bed with Nuggets. When I needed to do the rest of the yard I decided to use Timberline hardwood mulch instead of the nuggets, mainly because the other beds have more small plants in them and I feel the nuggets would cover them up. I have attached 4 pictures of the flower beds with the mulch. I ordered a pallet of 75 bags to get started. The delivery was good - no problems. Next day, I loaded the bags in the wheel barrel to carry to the various beds in the yard. I opened the bags and the mulch was as described - nice size pieces and dark. Some of the bags (mulch) were wet in the middle or on the bottom , not a problem, still able to spread and disperse. I gave 4 stars only because several bags had bits of plastic and large chunks of mud in them. I was able to pick out the plastic and mud chunks - annoying only because it slowed me down. Out of the 75 bags about 5 bags had trash or mud. I will still order Timberline Hardwood mulch to finish the yard - still need about 1 - 2 pallets. I am sure I will find plastic in these bags too, hopefully, not as much. Must say, that for a couple of days (almost a week) every time I went out onto the patio I thought I was in a barn yard - smelled of manure. I guess it was because there was so much mulch in one area.

Is what it is, shredded hardwood. Covers well. Medium brown in color. If you need something darker go with dyed mulch.

I mix one bag of the compost with two bags of Texas Native Inriched Top Soil. I use it in all my plantings.

Looks good, wish it would deter weeds from growing underneath it though (even have tarp down, but still lots of weeds! :( )

The mulch covers the gardens sufficiently.

I think it is a great weed blocker, because of the way it packs down.

Best bagged hardwood mulch on the market. I prefer not to use mulch containing dye or rubber. The cost of this mulch is comparable to bulk mulch plus transportation charges. The added benefit is you do not feel you need to distribute it all in one weekend as would the case be for bulk mulch.

Love this mulch. Very reasonably priced and makes my garden look great, keeps the weeds out and the moisture in.

It seems to work well for us. We don't like the colored mulches. This fits the bill. It is a reasonable price.

Product has a few too large pieces and a little trash in it but otherwise is working as expected. We are using it for path material.

The mulch had a good bit soil mixed into it. The bags were in bad shape with 4 of them open. My delivery window was 2 to 6pm, but it arrived at 10 :45am......

Product very good. Pick up service very POOR. Waited 30 minutes and then had to go into the store to find the product.

The mulch was ok, but several bags were muddy. Some bags contained clumps of clay soil. This caused some bags to be heavy and rip open while carrying. Would not recommend.

I usually by the Scott’s colored larger size pieces but the price on this was so good and the finer size particles ‘clump’ so they are less prone to wash away in a rain storm. My only concern compared to Scott’s is fading over time.

I use these in my raised garden beds for numerous reasons and it works great everytime.

This mulch must be contaminated. An astonishing number of weeds is springing out of it within a week or two of laying it down. It’s not coming from below the mulch, it’s coming from the mulch itself. i’ve never had this happen using any other brand of mulch. I had less weeds before I layed this mulch down…

The mulch was not really what was expected. There were huge pieces of bark and lots of trash in each bag- plastics, cloth, etc. we even found rocks that had to be at least 5 lbs.

The color dye in the mulch is a problem
