After flooding rain got 6 inches deep in my home on June 20, 2018 we had to gut the inside. once contractor completed the replacement of sheet rock i built a new storage shelf in the garage store room. attached is the pictures of the work these 2x4s and plywood created a very strong shelf that will last a lifetime and be able to hold most any item i can put on it.

I'm a weekly Home Depot shopper and have never reviewed a product. However, I was in the lumber section and that day I couldn't find any labels in the section. I started to load maybe 6 2x4's and noticed they were stud length (92's) so I had to put them back. I went to a different pile which I thought was correct (but not labeled) and when I got home they were all 92's!!!! I was very frustrated because I needed to get 2 4's out of each board!!!! Then when I started nailing them every single one split. I'm a pretty good customer but I do have other choices and I'm going to think twice the next time I need lumber.

When remodeling, a kiln dried lumber is best to use. However, this kiln dries product has so many twists and turns, it takes a bit to find enough straight boards for a remodel project. Time is money as a contractor.

Thank you for your review. We truly appreciate and value your feedback.
Expansion, contraction, twisting, warping, cracking, cupping, splitting, bowing; These are all -natural characteristics of kiln-dried wood when the internal moisture content % has changed. Our product originates in a northern climate. Though it is still kiln- dried, wood is similar to a sponge and it will either take on additional moisture or dry out in warm dry air climates.
If the product has been stored inside a warm dry climate like a store, for an extended period the characteristics outlined above will occur. It is in this regard wood is no different than any perishable item found in a supermarket.
We are working with the Team at Home Depot to assist in the important daily inventory management and merchandising of our products to improve the quality of the product you purchase. JDIRVINGHAPPYBROOK

Alright lumber! though it’s not grade A it has some eyes which is the weakest part of the lumber. It’s perfect for multiple installations for studs.

I needed full lenth studs, the signage details only listed material as " 2x4x8 " so i was unaware they were cut for 8' stud wall lenth. I like the fact they are available, but if project doesn't involve framing 8' walls, it can be an issue so they need to be clearly marked as not full 8' lenth.

It's... a piece of wood. I don't know what else to say about it. But Home Depot really seems to want to know since they've emailed me 3 times asking for my opinion on it. I bought many other highly marketable things on the same purchase, but the unbranded 2x4, THAT is what needs a review. It's a nice piece of wood. It seems like it came from a tree. Logging is bad generally but this will go to good use hopefully. It's hard. I haven't gotten a splinter from it. Someone at the store cut it in half for me. A big burly strong man. I felt excited and also emasculated. Would do again. I wrote about it in my journal.
