Ripped the paint if the wall but wouldn't hold a plastic drop cloth up...

I purchased this tape to hold carpet treads to our wooden staircase so our elderly dog could descend the stairs safely. Now that she has passed away, I'd like to remove the treads and the Scotch Indoor Mount, 314H-MED, underneath them. It has been an absolutely miserable process. I tried various solvents, putty knives, plastic knives, and more to get it up without damaging the polyurethane. I have not succeeded but will need to keep trying. So, the tape is a great hold but a painful removal.

Packaging says use 3" per lb while your website says to use 5.5".

Sticky and easy to cut

This product description is very misleading and false . To make my complaint short as I have already written your corporate office . It claims to hold up to 10 lbs , I Purchased it hold Christmas garland that could not have weighed more than 5 lbs . My garland kept falling and I had to keep hanging it back up . I finally got sick and tired of rehanging it I gave up . And yes I used plenty of multiple strips to distribute the weight for the tape . Now it has left the tape residue permanently to my brand new homes walls!! The tape does not complete come off!! I specifically purchased this product because it says does not remove paint. I was mislead thinking it would be easy removal. That is not the case !! I hope they will offer some type of resolution to the damages . I am never one to complain , so for me to write this I really feel this company has mislead the consumer with their product and have given false guarantee to the product’s performance.

Used it to mound sheer curtains on the venetian blind valence. Worked perfectly to create a custom look of recessed window treatment at a fraction of the cost of the real thing. Looks great and was so easy to use, Just cut to the length needed, apply to the inside of the wooden slat and press the material on in the allocated fashion to create "pleat" falls.

I bought the Scotch indoor 10 lb double sided tape to hang school photos/posters in our hallways. Unfortunately, the 10 lb tape doesn't work as effectively as the 50 lb tape. Maybe it's the lamination. Maybe it's the wall, but if this tape claims to be able to hold 10 lbs, then surely a painted wall should be no problem for a 5 ounce poster. I usually buy the 50 lb tape because I know that will surely stick. But I'm also afraid that the 50 lb tape will pull off the paint at the end of the school year when we remove the posters. Not completely satisfied.

I bought this tape just a few weeks ago to mount lightweight items on my walls and ceilings and it has completely torn off the paint wherever I applied the product. I cannot believe that this tape is advertised for indoor use and says that it can be used on paint. I hope to receive a refund for the "indoor" tape.

I used this product to accent my bathroom mirror. It came out better than i would ever expect.

Works great! Definitely will use again. Used to mount lights on my ceiling.

This product simply does not adhere well to smooth nylon surfaces. I used it to adhere some nylon cable clamps to a PVC control panel door and they fell off within an hour. This product may be excellent in other applications though.

I used this tape to hang an art show in a cafe and it worked great! I used a bit too much though and ended up pulling some paint and drywall off. Organic adhesive solvent took it right off. Follow weight to tape ratio instructions. Good stuff.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Scotch Indoor mounting tape seems more robust than using other kinds of tape for hanging small items on a surface. I needed to hang a small mirror in my locker cabinet at work and this mounting tape was perfect for the job. This small mirror was less than a half-pound. I received this 3M Indoor Mounting tape for free to try out and review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was having a hard time keeping my double phone jack adhered to the wall. The velcro strips from the cable company kept sticking together but not to the back of the jack. Three strips of this tape fixed the issue. Now it sits tightly on the surface without constantly falling down and driving me nuts. Thanks to 3M for providing me with a free sample of this versatile product which can be used in so many creative ways! What's your favorite?

It work just as I thought it would. I put letters on a board ,that I didn't want to have to use screws and repaint the letters . I like it so much I bought extra rolls to have in case I need it for anything else

I used this tape to stick some Reach Barrier (foil covered foam) insulation to the inside of my garage door. I cleaned the doors and my hands before cutting and applying the tape pieces, but just handling them to stick them to the door was enough to muck them up. They just don't stick that well, at least on aluminum door panels. You have to press them on with a lot of pressure which means using your fingers. That seems to transfer just enough natural oils that the top surface is not that sticky anymore. I even used the end of a flat screw driver to press the pieces on and that helped some. I just don't feel this is the greatest product for "industrial" type uses. It has it's uses, but I didn't get what I needed out of it for my project.
