3M makes many great products; tapes and adhesives among them. I had a situation where needed to place a plastic bead around the edge of a dry wall opening where traditional corner bead would not work. I bought a wrap-around plastic bead that made a finished edge on the cut drywall. This adhesive is just for this type of operation. It makes a sticky surface without soaking in or coming off the powdery edge of the drywall. They stained it with a pinky-reddish color so that you can see where you have sprayed it. I sprayed the drywall edges and the bead both, then put them together. The adhesive has a strong smell so use in a ventilated area. The adhesive gives you time to make all adjustments to the bead, and has a relatively short drying time. Although I have other 3M adhesives, this one worked differently than those. I would suggest using this for this purpose and I may try it for when I have to apply glue to other powdery surfaces as well.

Works great, saves time, just spray ,let it tack up, and stick on the corner bead and done.
A lot faster for the average DIYer than having to spread mud first.
I've used it on several drywall jobs and I've never had any problems with it not holding.

I had a small awkwardly shaped linen closet to finish. The spray held the tape in place while applying the joint compound. It would have been difficult 2 use the previous method of joint compound only and the tape. I would advise caution however in applying the adhesive to both the wall and the tape. Doing this provides immediate adhesion and allows very little leeway if the tape needs to be adjusted in any way. Especially on inside corners. I will use it again being aware of the application to both surfaces. And I never give a 5 rating as the longevity of a product is always in question.
