The paper was great in stripping weathered wood. I need to purchase more.

worked well for my project
I got 3 different sizes of sanding paper to start with a low number up to this 220 and it gave it a good and nice finish. all 3 worked great, the 80, the 120 and this 220.. I would buy again.

    Awesome finish!
Worked amazing on my pine board, but first of course i used Varathane, let dry overnight, then i sanded all the fine splinters away and the pine came out very smooth. I sanded by hand, but i wrapped the sandpaper around a cubed nail buffer to make the job easier and faster.

    Holy cow
This stuff and three fingers took down the cast iron bumps on my new skillet. They were so bad I couldn't cook anything on that pan even after seasoning it myself, six times - the worst cast iron pan I'd ever bought. That pan is smooth as butta now.

There isn't a lot to say about sandpaper, you either go really cheap and have to replace them very quickly or you spend a little more and get better sandpaper that lasts longer and provides consistent clean results if you treat them well. These are a great mid grade sandpaper, not expensive but not cheap, they work well and last a long time if you don't abuse them. Cleaning sandpaper with an eraser helps prolong their life.

I got the 3M hand sander and a couple of different 3M Sanding Sheets to refinish my little weather-worn outdoor table. Apparently, I didn't get the right size sheets, as they wouldn't fit in the sander. But, since the sheets are "grippy," I was able to attach one at each end and they held in the middle. With and without the hand sander, the Sanding Sheets made quick work of my little wood table. I've been quite successful using these kinds of sheets wrapped around a sponge - great for getting in between slats and such. I like all of the new sanding sheets much better than old-fashioned sandpaper. I'd say the Diablo version is maybe 1/2 a star better than the 3M version, but they're both great! Much less effort to get good results.

This 3M Pro Grade sandpaper is a very good product. I like the non slip characteristics of the paper backing very much. When folded over that makes it very easy to hand sand surfaces and not have the paper slip. I trimmed some doors down and found this removed the saw tooth marks quickly, leaving a smooth, ready to stain surface. This sandpaper can also be used wet, which is essential for sanding metals to extend the life of the product. Fine build up of dust can be washed out too. I have used the x-fine 320 and 400 grits for final finish sanding wood, fiberglass and metals and am pleased with the performance.

I received the 3M PRO GRADE PRECISION FASTER SANDING SANDING SHEETS, 3 2/3 IN X 9 IN, 220 GRIT, FINE, about one month ago. The sheets worked very well for a project I was working on in the master bathroom. I had found an old outlet plate that needed to be sanded and I used the fine grit sandpaper to smooth it. It worked very well buffing it. I Installed the plate, painted it and it looks great. It turned out to be a great project! I would recommend these sanding sheets for any project that you need to sand wood finely. I believe this sanding sheet met my expectations as my project turned out very smooth after using it.

I was able to fit these sheets on a 1/3 sheet finishing sander. The sandpaper worked well for final finish on poplar leaving a very smooth finish on my project. I also cut the used sheet into smaller pieces for use on my detail sanding blocks. The backing is tough enough for sanding both ways and not too stiff. The sheets conform well to the detail sanding blocks to provide fine sanding in the creases of moldings and round objects like dowel rod.

3M sand paper is always my choice. I have used this brand because of their quality and reliability. Their grit quality is always consistent and as graded to the stated number. Their backing is always very sturdy and the loading of the grit is very low. I especially like that little pressure is required to obtain desired success. Also the convenient packaging allowing for easy storage of unused sheets and keeping each grit separate. I like the backing on the paper I can lay a sheet on my workbench and am able to sand edges easily.

3M prograde precision sandpaper Claims to be faster sanding, so I did open a pack and tried it on a block of wood to see how it would perform. I have to say I was quite impressed. See picture below of paper and woodblock. I had this rough sawn piece of 2x4 and it cleaned it up nicely and did not load up. The grit actually cleaned out very well and kept cutting providing a smooth edge with little to no damage to the paper.

I like this sandpaper. The 180 grit is listed as finish paper, but I needed to take a small amount of material off a door and and then paint over it. A lot of finish paper will load up really bad when you sand over latex and hardboard. Well, this paper amazingly didn't load up bad, and one sheet did the whole job and it still looked like new. The finish was smooth enough that I could paint it immediately without further prep. I like the backing too, it has some grip to it so that the sanding wood block I used didn't slip around at all. I'll keep this stuff around from now on.

Very good finish sanding paper. I used this to de-fuzz raw wood after the first coat of latex paint. It did a nice job of taking off the burrs and a few high spots on the paint. The paper didn't load up very bad and all I had to do to make it nearly like new was to blow it off with compress air. I really like the backing too. It has some friction to it. Sort of feels like a wax coat, but I doubt it is. Anyway, I used just a block of wood to back up the paper and it stayed put with only one wrap at the front of the block. This will be by "go-to" finishing sandpaper from now on.

3M Pro Grade Precision sandpaper has “NO-SLIP GRIP™”. If you’ve had to sand something by hand, you know how slippery sandpaper can get, especially when you add in the sanding dust. This paper’s backing has a ‘tacky’, or ‘waxy’ feel to it, and my hand did not slip off the paper even under moderate pressure sanding. (This feature should interest anyone who has had their hand slip off some sandpaper and drive a sliver under your nail.) This sandpaper is said to be made with a “PRECISION SHAPED GRAIN”. Without a microscope, I could not verify this, however, if the grain size is uniform, this aluminum oxide grit should yield a superior finish. Each package contains 6 sheets of paper. The sheets measure a smidgen under 3 ¾ inches by a mite over 9 inches. This was the 220 grit, but 3M also makes 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 320, 400 grits. Although not shown on the front of the package, on the back it states that this paper can be used wet or dry! In my use, the paper did not become saturated by application of water. Given a choice, I always prefer to sand wet, as the paper lasts even longer. I am very pleased with the quality of this 3M Pro Grade Precision sandpaper, and this product carries forward my confidence in the 3M brand.

This is basically the only kind of sandpaper I buy now. It cuts well, it doesn't clog, is long lasting and fits a sanding board and a one third sheet electric sander perfectly. I use this with a drywall sanding pad to sand walls and ceilings before I paint - it knocks off all the dirt and fuzz the last painter left in his finish. I fold the edges up which allows me to get into corners pretty well and the paper doesn't tear like cheaper paper will along a folded edge. This is great paper for woodworking, painting and I've even used it to sand fiberglass filler on rocker repairs.

I've always relied on 3M sanding sheets and these wont let you down. I use 180grit before painting because I use a heavy latex paint and like to have a little bite on surface. In this case I used a Behr exterior and had to rub out a few nicks on door jambs. Minimal pressure applied and only a couple of passes over area. This particular sheet lasted the whole door and I can still use it on next project and have 5 new sheets left.

The 3M Pro Grade Precision Faster Sanding Sanding Sheets, 3 2/3 in x 9 in, 180 grit, Fine, 6/pk are wonderful. These are very flexible and the backing paper is extremely non-slip, making this a great choice for anyone doing hand sanding operations, or making use of a sanding block. The sanding surface has consistently applied grit, and seems to resist wear better than i would have expected for something this flexible. I picked the 180 and the 220 grit options this month and have been happy with both. Pros: Flexible, durable, non-slip

I was skeptical that one could engineer sandpaper to somehow last longer and not get clogged with dust as easily. But, I'm pretty impressed with this stuff. It really does seem better than the other sandpaper I had lying around. I found that I could often times just wipe the dust off of the paper and keep sanding. I also liked that the packaging was easy to open, and it has a nice guide to sandpaper grits for those who don't know what they need. Overall, would recommend.

3M pro grade precision 220 grit sand paper is the perfect finishing sand paper for wrapping up my door project, I’ve been working on stripping paint from interior doors on my master bedroom and finally reached the sanding portion of the project before stain, the sandpaper is very thin, and has a special layer on the back that’s easier to grip, my hands didn’t get tired at all, like I have previously experienced with other brands. I love that the paper can be used wet or dry. I’ve tried other brands and will definitely continue to use 3M Products in the future.

3M has been producing abrasives since 1902. They know sandpaper! 3M Pro Grade Precision Sanding Sheets are the result of over a century of sanding technology. The clog resistance is exceptional. The grip backing does exactly what 3M claims - it grips without being "sticky". You can fold it in half and you have a super grip for sanding just about anything. I sanded down some southern yellow pine boards. The paper did not clog. I was able to wet-sand a metal plate without the 3M Pro Paper falling apart. I had to join 2 sections of molding with a angled joint, 3M Pro paper made the seam disappear! (See photos below) This is the toughest sandpaper I've ever used. It is a bit more expensive but so worth the cost. There is no substitute for quality! Don't waste your time and hard earned money on cheap sandpaper. Step up and grab the 3M Pro Grade.

I moved into a early 1900s home and found a nice blemish on the wall that used to have a baby gate attached to it so I decided to use this product to see how it would do. Apparently there was some glue in the area so after a light sand I applied a little bit of dishwashing liquid to this 3M product and it took the glue right off so I was really impressed on how well it sanded but at the same time it was gentle enough not to scour the walls. I was really amazed that with a light brushing on the same paper I could actually use this piece of paper again for another job. Two thumbs up on the product!

These 3M sanding sheets are pre-cut to fit the standard hand sanding blocks. Sanding is noticably quicker, and you may want to switch to the standard paper for some jobs if it is desired not to take off so much material. The paper can be used wet or dry. You can clean the embedded particles from the paper after you have used it with water -I find this helps it stay consistent and allows a sheet to be re-used several times.

My wife has this old butcher block table that we fixed up and used as an island in our kitchen. We did not use it as a cutting board because the surface was not what you would want to prepare food on. It got added to my "honey do" list. We hauled it outside and used a belt sander (80 grit) to remove the scum and whatever else. Next, I went to 120 grit in the sander. To smooth the surface, I folded these 3M sanding sheets so that it would fit in an old Rockwell orbital sander I inherited from my dad. The 180 grit sanding sheets were durable and they did not tear, and to do the entire butcher block table, it only took 2 sheets. Finally I used 3M 220 grit sanding sheets in the orbital sander. Could hardly believe the transformation. We put mineral oil on the surface and my wife and I were very pleased with the result. In the future I would certainly pass up less expensive sandpaper sheets in favor of the 3M brand.

I use quite a bit of sandpaper, and 3M is one of my top brands that I always like to have in my shop. The 220 is one of my most used, and these sheets have a nice consistent grit and really gives a smooth finish to my signs and other projects. I also seem to get a good amount of use out of a sheet, but of course that will depend on your project. These also fold really well which I do to get in the grooves of lettering on my signs. Overall I’m very happy with these and I will definitely be keeping several grits of these in my shop!
