I bought this for my mother. It is easier for her to dump water in the reservoir than to lift jugs and tote them from one room to the next. So far she likes it and can easily manage it.

I purchased this unit to replace an aging, failing unit of similar size. After three days of operation I am returning it to Home Depot. The unit does operate well, however, I find it impossible to fill it without spilling water, as other commenters have noted. Also, I have had to fill the unit three times a day to maintain a 35% humidity level. That's 90+ gallons of water per month! I was refilling my older, similar sized unit every 2-3 days. Sorry, but I will be looking elsewhere for a humidifier.

Keeping up well with a 2500 sqft house, surface area of triple filter can evaporate entire 3.5 gal reservoir in less than 24 hours when dry even with fan on lowest setting for least amount of noise. Have to fill slowly to avoid spillage from side vents but small hassle for the price ...no annoying hard water dust and 5x less than cost of professional install of furnace duct humidifier. Very satisfied overall.

Flimsy product but it works if you can deal with the quirks.

Very good overall, no complaints. Love The different levels you can set the fan. Quiet when placed on level one. Keeps the moisture and humidity level where it needs to be.

We are very happy with this humidifier. The unit covers about 1200 sq ft in our home. The only issue we had was properly setting up to be sure that the float device on the wick frame is facing front so you can tell when there is the right amount of water. Once we figured this out, refilling the water to the proper amount was easy.

to date a solid unit, quiet operation.

Very satisfied with this product! No more dry eyes, dry throat, itchy nose! We run it all night where it can circulate humidity to all bedrooms, and everyone is sleeping better!

Yes, it adds moisture to the air in my condo, but it is definitely being returned for the following reasons: 1. The housing is flimsy plastic with clips that are to hold the various pieces together. They don't fit together do to being mis-shaped and several have already broken. I have had the unit 3 weeks. It also comes apart when you handle it with any type of conviction. 2. The small door that is used to fill the unit with water is bent and doesn't stay completely closed. Again it is made from cheap plastic. 3. The sensor to determine when it needs to be refilled doesn't work. There is a small metal piece that is connected to a switch that is sitting on top of a float. When the float goes all the way down the switch is supposed to trip off. However the depth isnt correct and when you remove the top housing from the bottom the metal strip can get shoved to thebside of the switch rendering it stuck and even more useless. 4. Aligning the top housing to the bottom portion of the unit containing the water reservoir and wicks is a pain. You have to line it up exactly correct or it won't seat all the way down, which renders the refill indicator even more usless than in 3. above. 5. If you misaligned the housing on the first try it gets a bit stuck. When you pull on the housing to try lining it up again the housing comes apart (see 1. above). 6. Refilling with water takes forever because you have to slowly pour 3+ gallons through a small hole AND make sure you hit the smaller hole 4 inches below the first one. If you pour too fast you will splash water out the sides of the unit onto the floor. 7. The humidistat is touchy. It will turn off when a set humidity level is reached, but the humidity reading may drop 5 points in 10 seconds after shutoff triggering it to come right back on, then it will soon shut off again. This cycle repeats. I do have a 2,200 square foot home. If you are looking for a humidifier that adds moisture to the air this works, but I have found the unit to be of substandard quality and a real pain to use. I generously give one star because it does add moisture but withhold the other 4 due to its cheapness and difficulty in assembly, cleaning and refilling.

Easy to fill and roll around. Will splash water out of bottom if not rolled gently. Multi speed fan is great adjustment. Soft touch controls are really soft touch.

My humidifier hasn't shut off since I plugged it in. It seems to do the job of putting water into the air, but I haven't noticed that it has ever shut off by itself. I typically put 10 - 15 quarts of water into it daily... At this point I don't know if the space is that dry or what. I would have thought that it would have shut off automatically by now. I use a 2.5 quart pitcher to add water, not to tough. It is somewhat easy to spill, but not too bad. I know I've had it run low on water, but I see no indicator that tells me to add water. The positives are it looks nice and puts water into the air, negatives are filling it, noise on high speeds and it doesn't seem to shut itself off... (yet)

The unit is well built, quiet, easy to fill and does what it is advertised to do. My complaint is that there is no way to tell how full it is without getting a flashlight and looking directly at the water level through the refill port. The owner's manual says there is an indicator just inside the refill port, but that is not the case on the unit I received. All in all I am happy with it and believe it to be worth the money. Hint: buy the water additive to keep the water fresh. It's cheap because it takes only 1/6 oz per gal.

Poorly made , falling apart out of the box! Cheap plastic clips break and Had to duct tape the float contact to get to work. Anti bacteria treatment was supposed to be included, mine was missing and the wicks molded and had to be replaces quickly... Not worth the money.Cheap "piece" do not buy this junk

Used this for about 2 weeks and got sick. Had it close to my desk and believe that was the issue. We are moving to a larger home soon and I will try it somewhere other than near me. Will review more then. I did notice the humidity level went from 18% to 40% in 24-36 hours of use. Refilling is kind of a pain. You must pour slowly to avoid spilling out the sides. On way to fill would be to use a hose. This would avoid any spilling. Noise doesn't seem to be a huge issue unless it's right next to you on high.

Easy to maintain and helped raise the humidity in our very dry house. The unit can be noisy at higher fan speeds, but any humidifier pushing out enough to humidify a large enough house will have this issue.

It's true what the other reviews say about water coming out of the vents if poured in too fast. I just purchased a 4 gallon bucket with a pour spout and slowly pour the water in (not an inconvenience by any means). I even rest the bucket on the door and haven't had any problems with it breaking. The unit has 3 wicks so it doesn't take long for the humidity to rise. We use public water which is hard. This unit does not leave white residue every where like the sonic humidifiers. I am currently using in a bedroom. Even though the unit has wheels I am going to purchase another unit for our livingroom.

This is a very nice unit. It does a good job of raising the humidity in my home. The fan is a little loud, but I usually crank it up when I am not home, and reduce it when at home. Also, it is true that the water does spill out the sides if you pour too much at a time. Just take your time and it works great. I recommend this unit for the value.

Got it out of the box, and was easy to setup and assemble. That is about the only good thing I can say about it. The water fill port is too small and when I poured water in with a pitcher, it splashed off of internal areas and sloshed out the side vents. The fill port door would not close completely, and I noticed the plastic case was coming apart. Then I turned it on, and all seemed okay. I turned the fan speed down to see if it would run a little quieter, but then found that the button to increase fan speed did not work. Packed it up and returned it with no hassle, but the customer service rep at HD never asked why I was returning it. Sure hope it didn't end up back on the shelf. Pile of cheaply made, poorly assembled junk.

Purchased this humidifier around Christmas to help with our bamboo floors. We were told to keep the humidity level in our home around 45% so that the floors won't shrink up. We are still in the beginner stages of using the machine but I can tell you that it's super easy to install and maintain. When filling up, pour the water slowly and it won't spill out on the sides. The only problem I've seen so far is that it didn't tell me when it was out of water. After two weeks of not filling it up and the humidity not staying at the level I sat it at, my husband commented that he couldn't believe that we didn't have to fill it up yet. I looked inside and noticed the floater was down and it was empty. I filled it up last night and sat it at 50%. I checked this morning and it was between 35% & 40%. I poured two more pitchers of water into it and will check on it this afternoon. Hopefully it will reach 45%. I read some reviews that said it may take a couple of days to reach the level you want to maintain. I've already thrown the box away so I can't return it or exchange it for another one. Overall I really like the style of it. I'm disappointed that the automatic shut off didn't work as well as the "no water" indicator. I hope it works out for our home. I'll keep you posted!

Pros : On highest fan setting, still Very quiet Easy to fill Controls are easy to set - high or low settings Rated for 2500 sq ft.. I use it in a 500 sq ft with a ceiling fan; But im sure if there were No walls it would work efficiently for 2500. Cons: The exterior casing isnt the highest of quality. Filling the unit was easy. However, you need to pour slowly into the reservoir or it will splash out the sides.

Is able to keep my 1600ft condo at 35-40% humidity in Colorado (a dry climate). Have to refill 1-2 times a day, which is very easy to do through the filler door in the front of unit.

We have a large house with an open floor plan. The humidifier works well and does what it supposed to. Only knock is it spills out sometimes when you fill it up. The tank could be bigger, runs about 12 hours on the medium setting.

This humidifier worked well when it was working. This unit lasted us ONE YEAR and then the motor seized up and died. Of course, it is out of warranty. So now, I am off to spend another $100+ for another humidifier and stuck with filters for this one that I cannot use. Find another brand!

OK just picked up this new humidifier on 11/19/14, so for the first review it looks nice, very easy to assemble, the fill in the front is very convenient, when it's open it's easy to read float that lights up, the touch control display is easy to operate, it has an adjustable humidistat and auto shut off if the tank runs out, also has a water refill and check filter indicators. I was looking for a humidifier that you can fill up before you leave for work and not worry about it all day, it has all the features you'll need. Just plug it in fill it up set the desired humidity level and let it do its job. Oh and I ran the different fan speeds (9 speeds) and it's really not all that loud, to me it's not annoying by any means, as some reviews may suggest. With that being said this is my first humidifier I really like it, so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and see how long it last's.

Had this unit for a little over 2 months and I really like it so far. Easy to fill and only uses wicks, nothing else. Easy to clean and seems to help a lot in a state with no humidity. I would recommend this unit.

I have a 3500 square foot home and this humidifiers works very well to cover the whole house. I am very pleased with the performace

It is very dry in Vermont in the winter, because of needing to use so much heat. This humidifier worked exceedingly well and covered 4 large rooms. I have COPD and it improved my breathing.

only have unit for a 2 weeks,but very satisfied with it so far.holds humidity at the set level.i like the digital controls.have to fill only once a week,so the larger tank capacity is a plus
