Started to investigate why suddenly my connection was intermittent and seems it's a common issue for this modem. It was working find with my old Arris.

Disappointed.
I bought this a couple months ago hoping to save money in the long run instead of renting, and improve range in the house, but it's not any better, maybe a little worse. Going to buy an extender to see if that will help.

Very disappointing
I experience multiple problems with this router:
(1) frequent drops of ethernet and wifi, even when router indicates it's connected
(2) wifi may show just 1 bar when I'm within arms length of the router
(3) login fails often after resetting to factory default and re-establishing all wifi bands and guest networks.
This is a very expensive mistake I truly regret, even if it is on my ISP's list of compatible routers.

An Excellent Modem
The small footprint with informative LEDs on the front and a rear panel that is well laid out for easy access make the placement of this modem very flexible with minimal space required. No performance issues related to the modem even while a minimally supported modem—now fully supported—on the Spectrum network in my 10 months of use. A fine upgrade of my seven year old modem that allowed me to double the speed of my Spectrum service. One thing that is a nice bonus is the movement of the ethernet connection LED to the rear panel so the blinking is no longer annoyingly visible as it was on the old model SB6141.

Does the job
With 4-2gbps ethernet ports and 2.4 + 5 ghz WiFi all running concurrently there isn't the bottleneck of a network cable between a moden device and WiFi router. Easy to replace my old gear with this using Comcast and Windows10 and following directions!

Easy set up
Yes I had to call my cable provider to switch me from my old rented modem to the one I purchased but that took maybe 7 to 10 minutes and then it was up and running

Not stable at all
I upgraded to this modem from 612x. After one and half month, it became very unstable. Every day I had to restart/reset it several times. It is a nightmare to use it. Don't know how to deal with it.

Easy as pie
Plugged it in, and that is it. I upgraded from my old arris modem, because I needed gigabit speed, and this is one of my most trusted and reliable pieces of tech that I own. My last Arris modem gave me 6 trouble free years, it was no question to go for their best modem.

Flawless setup & seamless operation--great!
As a first-time broadband customer, I just got set up with cable internet. The modem I initially went with was a Motorola that is highly recommended regarding customer reviews, & it wouldn't connect. A cable company technician verified that it was defective. I asked what his recommendation was, & he said, "Get an Arrus Surfboard--they work no matter what." So I did. I got this model to help future-proof, plus it has the extra ethernet port, which seems worth having. I hooked it up, & it works great--no issues whatsoever. Highly recommended for a no-fuss/no-muss setup.

Better Modem
Requires no setup from this modem, except installing your coax, network cable and power. However, I can only say about my ISP provider, "not going to mention". After telling my ISP Provider your modem's information and "wala" it works. But there is one vital information you must tell them and hopefully the person will do it right. That your modem is now certified DOCSIS 3.1 compliance and the proper signal must be change to DOCSIS 3.1. If your ISP Provider does not change to DOCSIS 3.1 signal your modem is not operate to its full potential and/or your modem will keep dropping signal and everything else. Second must to do, your coax cable should be updated to comply DOCSIS 3.1 signals.

Unstable Modem
I purchased this modem as an upgrade to my SB6183 in hopes of getting 1G speeds. I worked with Cox for 3 weeks to ensure my line was stable and clean. Issues were discovered and corrected which included problem with the incoming cable and also with the wiring inside the house. Issues encountered on the SB8200 after the cable connection was fixed:
1. The status web page would usually not load on the SB8200.
2. Hundreds to tens of thousands of uncorrected packets on channels 1-30. Tens of billions uncorrectables on channel 159. (For comparison, my SB6183 has zero correctables and zero uncorrectables with the same connection.)
3. Intermittent connection drops.
My SB6183 (DOCSIS 3.0) was and continues to be very stable with zero correctable and zero uncorrectables for days at a time (now that the incoming line was fixed).
I have returned the SB8200 modem and will continue to use my SB6183.

Works Flawlessly
My old modem was a Motorola Modem SB6120 that I took up to use our home in Montana. My replacement Surfboard 8200 as it has Docsis 3.1 for Gigabyte speeds and backward compatible Docsis 3.0.
I got the better modem for future upgrades to my internet speed and because we have numerous devices connected to the network. It seems like we add a new device every year. In addition, the SB8200 has two Ethernet ports
It has worked flawlessly since purchasing it four months ago.
