When this came in the mail I thought it was...
When this came in the mail I thought it was a joke. It was very light weight and compact. I installed it following the directions and it worked as expected. I was not aware the wiring was sold separately and it was more expensive than the heater itself so prepare for that. Otherwise I am happy

We installed this unit of a shower only, unfortunately the temperature rise was to great for a good pressure for us. For a single shower and a lower temperature water rise it would be sufficient.

I would recommend this item if you have a remote location or want a hot shower outside.
First you do need 240V which requires a electrician to install correct plug in to make this unit work properly.
It is compact in size so it can be used in small spaces. Best if connected to cold water outlet and then adjust temperature to your liking. It does require water hookup and electrical change so be aware of that when you purchase.

This particular unit is ideal for remote locations such as cabins, outdoor showers, etc. We specifically designed it to be compact so it could be applicable to tighter, remote spaces as well. You will only need to connect cold water to the unit….one should never connect pre-heated water to this unit. The included shower head has a built in mechanism that allows air to be mixed into the water for a fuller shower water flow feel. The turn dial knob in front provides the ability for you to choose OFF / Medium / or High, depending on how warm or hot you would like the shower to be.

I suggest you read the description of this heater carefully as it is a bit different from most other heaters, tank or tankless. It does have limitations that one should expect from an instant water heater is this price range. The hot water temp is controlled in 2 ways, the high/low temp switch on the heater and the cold water inlet valve. If you run the water thru it too fast you wont get the hottest water from the showerhead. So once you get use to how much water you supply to it and the high/low temp switch setting you will get a comfortable hot water output. The cold water inlet is a standard 1/2 NPT and easy to make the connection to it. It is a perfect style and function for a small camper shower or an enclosed outdoor shower near a pool. The actual physical installation is easy as it it very lightweight and can mount to a shower wall or side wall. The hardest part for most will be getting the 240V electric line installed to it from a dedicated 30 amp breaker. What you do get is an almost instant hot water output at a continuous flow rate, shower after shower it will never run out. If you have a high end bathroom this might look out of place in the shower. Maintenance is easy and protecting against freezing is important. There is not a lot of components inside as it is designed so there is not a lot to fail. The included instructions are fairly simple to follow and there is an electrical diagram included also if you ever need service down the line I looked at those and it looks very simple to troubleshoot for a trained technician. I think for the price this is a great deal and performs very well within its limitations.

In my home it requires 2 - 3 minutes for hot water to arrive from the central water heater.
This unit permits me to have hot water within 5 - 10 seconds instead.
This unit is the higest which could be supported by my wiring without special wiring.
If you turn the water on too high, it is only lukewarm.
THE TRICK, IS TO TURN IT ON JUST HIGH ENOUGH, NOT TOO HIGH AND THEN YOU GET HOT WATER.

If you have trouble getting hot water to a shower, this is a good choice to remedy the situation. I wouldn't necessarily put this in an upscale shower because of the look of the heater box and it is installed close to the shower head. The feel of the shower head seems a bit cheap, but hopefully it will hold up well. I purchased this to install in an outside shower we wanted to build without having to find a way to hook up to the hot water tank. This fits the bill perfectly. You probably need to get an electrician because it needs a 240V line. But, once installed it works great.

This is a nicely designed, inexpensive way to get hot showers in remote locations. We have some family land that is primarily used for hunting with a small cabin on it. While getting a generator/power out there is easy, a water heater is not. This is extremely cost effective for a camping nice shower.
Things to know - You have to have a preexisting valve in the wall with decent water pressure. Also, this requires 240 volt power (normal 120 line will not work.) So the install is a little more complex. It shipped in the retail box and arrived pretty banged/taped up. However, the heater/shower was fine.

This heater has a very limited application, and one that isn't clear in any pre-purchase product spec or literature. It is used as a free flow heater, flow controlled by a supply valve before the heater only - you cannot valve or restrict the outflow or pressurize the internal element housing. So it can only be used in a shower configuration with a discrete cold water supply valve accessible from the bath/shower space. That requires re-plumbing any traditional supply mixer, mounting this bulky thing in your shower space, and using only the handheld shower provided.
Given this, it would only be worthwhile (and install easily) in a remote location such as a campground or outbuilding shower (with 30A of 230V). Additionally, I'm on the fence with Atmor design/quality, having installed two of their consumer tankless heaters with flaky performance results. The draw is price, of course... it's an ok deal if this is your application and you catch it on sale.

Each shower varies from installation requirements/needs to its location. You are indeed right that most customers take advantage of having these units installed for remote shower locations, but we have seen an increased demand for home showers as well. We recommend connecting only the cold water to the inlet side of the unit and placing a shut off valve cap on your hot water pipe. The unit will heat the cold water and you can use the turn dial control to choose the heat setting of your preference.
