Gorgeous fan, the airflow it puts out is amazing to. Our installer commented that it was one of the most balanced fans he had ever hung, zero wobble

I replaced my home's original 1998 fan with this one. My ceilings are 18 feet high, so I also bought a 60" down rod. This fan is so smooth, completely silent, and it really moves a lot of air! Much more than my old six blade fan. The remote is wonderful, and the blade direction can be changed with the push of a button. I have been using it on a low setting because the highest setting feels like you are in a wind tunnel. The Minka brand is wonderful. The electrician who installed it for me was very impressed with the quality. The blades are real wood, and it looks much more expensive than $199. Worth every penny, and I like that there are only two blades to keep clean.

Now this is one serious ceiling fan. Due to the fact that a light kit is not available for this model I'm limited as to where I can install it. This would make a great porch fan but unfortunately it's not rated for outdoor use. It's far too nice for my garage so I think it will end up in one of my rental properties.
The two red walnut blades look and feel like real wood but they're actually injection molded from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). The assembled unit weighs a little over 28 lbs. so a proper ceiling fan box must be used. A standard octagon box uses #8 machine screws where only a couple of threads grip the box but a ceiling fan box uses #10 screws and all the threads are fully engaged for the length of the screw. I'll secure the box to a ceiling joist with four 2 in. screws which will make it rock solid.
Depending on the height of your ceiling the fan can be mounted in one of two ways. If the ceiling is sloped installing the included 6 in. downrod will be necessary. (fan hangs 12 in. from the ceiling) If the ceiling is flat and less than 8 ft. from the floor the fan can be hung without the downrod. (fan hangs 9 in. from the ceiling) One feature I especially like is that the fan direction can be changed from the remote, no need to drag out a ladder. The remote uses one MN21/23A 12 volt alkaline battery (included), much better than those goofy little button batteries and it comes with a wall mounting bracket. Also, Aire includes a blade balancing kit if the need should arise.
The wires for the motor are a generous 5 ft. in length so a downrod up to 48 in. long can be used without having to splice any wires. The receiver for the remote is built into the motor allowing for a simple three wire installation, black/hot, white/neutral and green/ground. To guarantee the motor was not DOA I pluged the wires into an outlet to test all the functions of the remote. Everything worked as advertised and the motor runs whisper quiet. This is an excellent fan for anyone who needs to move a lot of air quietly.
Although the Home Depot ad lists this as a 9 speed motor it's actually a 6 speed motor. 1- Minimum, 2-Low, 3-Medium Low, 4-Medium, 5-Medium High and 6-High speed. Each speed is available in either forward or reverse mode.
The Aire warranty is for ONE year from the date of purchase on all parts excluding the motor. The warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship. Aire warrants the motor only for the lifetime of the fan.

GREATEST CEILING FAN EVER !!!!!!
this is possibly the greatest ceiling fan I have ever owned.. I had a semi, difficult installation due to the fact It was put in a garage in New Jersey.. Building code calls for double 5/8" Code x Fire Rated drywall, So I had to put a piece of 3/4 plywood across 2 beams. With another piece of 3/4 behind it to screw the electric box to (see pics) Other than that the fan is easy to install for anyone from a pro to DIYer,, You only need to connect 2 wires and a ground wire, Make sure you have shut off your breaker before starting. Also you can buy several different types of ceiling fan boxes at home depot to make your installation easier HD Model #'s 926,BH525LR,BH525LR there are more to choose from depending on your installation.
After Installing, I turned it on with the included remote It has 6 forward speeds and 6 reverse... It is so whisper quiet you cant hear a thing when its on, But you can feel the breeze. Even on its slowest speed of 1 you can feel a great breeze the curve they have on these fan blades pushes a LOT of air and even on high speed it doesn't make a drop of noise but moves a TON of air.. Some of the older ceiling fans were so noisy and just blew air roughly on you, This one just gently pushes the air... I really cant say anything more than BUY IT>>>> Great fan Great Price.... Quiet as can be ....you wont be disappointed....
