Short Lived
Although this dishwasher was the least expensive on the market and cleans the dishes well, it started to have problems after only 2 years of purchase. It started to rust on the upper rack, which is a safety hazard. Now, it is leaving sufficient soap residue on the dishes in the upper rack that we have to rewash them by hand. We did not change soap.

Needs work with performance
The cycle takes a long time to complete and the dishes are not fully cleaned.

Dear No name: Thank you for taking the time to write regarding your Dishwasher. Feedback from our customers is an important source of information. We regret that you are not totally satisfied with your Dishwasher. We manufacture several different models with various feature and accessory designs while trying to provide appliances that are versatile in meeting the needs of our customers and adhering to increasing governmental restrictions. Current dishwasher heating cycles have been cut short due to standards set by the Department of Energy. To overcome this, we recommend using rinse aid to help sheet off extra water. First, fill the compartment will rinse aid until full. Next, turn the dial under the rinse aid cap from 2 (the factory preset) to 5 or 6. This will allow the rinse aid to cover the dishes and form to the inside cabinet. Turn it back down after a few loads, and you will notice a big difference the amount of water in the unit and on the dishes. Dishwasher detergents have removed the phosphates from their formulas due to the government restrictions on its use. As the Department of Energy standards are forcing less energy and water usage, we manufacture units to accommodate and maintain their stringent regulations. This can cause the dishwasher to not clean as expected. There are a few suggestions that other customers have found helpful and will help your dishwasher perform as desired. Make sure the water heater is set to 120'F, as that is the best temperature to wash dishes in. Make sure the detergent is new, and has not been sitting for any length of time. Run the water in the sink right before starting the dishwasher. As current dishwashers will pull in water for a shorter time than your previous dishwasher, the water that comes in needs to be as hot as possible for better cleaning results. Clean out the bottom of the dishwasher to remove any food particles. You may want to run a vinegar rinse in the dishwasher to remove any food or mineral build up from the pump. Using distilled white vinegar, fill a bowl with one cup of vinegar, place in bottom of dishwasher, open side up in bottom rack, with dishwasher empty. This will help to get rid of any mineral or detergent build up, and allow the spray arm to spray evenly. Should you have other concerns you can contact us at Amana_Digital@Amana.com. A Whole Lota Amana Dishwasher
Bought the Amana Dishwasher and could not be more happy with the performance of the machine. For the price this is an exceptional value. The Triple Filter Wash System makes dishes shine. Also, the stainless steel exterior is easy to clean!

Dream Come True
Over one month ago I bought my "dream come true" Amana dishwasher. Not only is it efficient, but it is also very quiet. My dishes, glasses, pans, and flatware are washed, rinsed, and dried and look sparkly clean. I have had several dishwashers over my lifetime, but my Amana is my favorite. It has many features that I can choose from. It is a perfect fit and was very easily installed by my handyman. I could not be a happier senior citizen who watches for the best quality for the price and guess what? I did it again by finding this amazing Amana dishwasher!

"Look what the elves installed for Santa!"
Mrs. Claus always has a crowd to feed, especially around the holidays. She needed a dishwasher that would hold large loads of dishes. Santa loves his cookies and milk and the new dishwasher always cleans the glasses and saucers sparkling clean even if they weren't rinsed first! The Amana is so quiet that Santa can take a much needed nap without being disturbed. Both Santa and Mrs. Claus love the features and performance that Amana brings at such an affordable value. The elves at Home Depot Installed the dishwasher in an amazingly short amount of time too. We will be buying more appliances at our Home Depot.

My Dishes look very nice
My dishwasher arrived on the day home depot said the would have it there and they followed my instruction exactly as to where I wanted it sat. I installed the dishwasher the very next day and it only took one hour out of my day. I only had one complaint about the whole process. The dish washer installation materials did not come with a very obvious piece to connect the water line. they made me go back to the store to pick up this coupling needed to install the dishwasher.

Just what I wanted

Blasts away stubborn food!
I bought one of those "quiet" dishwashers at another store and returned it a week later. This AMANA dishwasher cleans in half the time of the other one and gets the dishes sparkling clean. It is not noisy, just the sound of swishing water if you are close to it. It has three cycles for better cleaning but honestly I have found the basic cycle cleans even baked on cheese. It holds MORE, COST LESS by several hundred dollars and cleans better in half the time!

Meets my needs perfectly.
I'm enjoying my new dishwasher! It has plenty of room, is easy to load, and is quiet while running. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it has all I need and hopefully less to break down. I especially like the option to air dry instead of heat dry since I use a lot of plastic items.

Great value
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a basic unit on a tight budget. I've had dishwashers before with a lot of fancy adjustable racks that I never used. The extra hinges and brackets took up valuable space for nothing. I like the simplicity of this unit. It works dependably. I bought it in black to go with the black and white tile floor I want to put in my kitchen.
Cons: The spacing between the tines of the upper rack is a little too close for my larger mugs. I run the dishwasher every to or three days. It doesn't do well on the normal cycle if the kids load dishes without rinsing them well first.

A Great Product backed by a Great Company!

They work so well that the Amana Dishwasher on currently on duty at the apartments never breakdown and the 5 we bought went out of warranty. We know this because we tried to have one of our new ones fixed (faulty circuit board) and Amana had a factory repair company fix it , even though it was out of warranty.

it's all good
