DONT BUY - NO Warranty
Purchased less than a year ago, leaking tub. Called the company (CalSpa, which owns American Spa) - cant get anyone to fix the problem. Local people wont touch this tub since the manufacturer will not pay them for the repair. ie - there is no warranty. This all started pre-COVID, now they wont return my calls or emails. RUN, dont walk, from this complany - PLEASE!!

First off, the spa is delivered on its side. I was fortunate enough to have a tractor to help me get it into position. I have no idea what an older couple would do. Maybe four guys and a twelve pack of beer. The instructions don't tell you exactly where the electrical connection is, but I guessed correctly that it was under the control panel. Relatively easy to hook up. Filled it with water and then turned it on. Primed immediately and began to heat up. Took about four hours to go from 78° to 102°. Hopping in, it seemed very deep. I'm 5'11 and the water level was high on my chest, too high almost. All four corners were deep, with shallower places to sit in between. The waterfall is useless. No idea why anyone would want one. The small control panel is easy to use, but has one flaw. It is lit up all the time. I mean really bright. It interferes with star gazing it is so bright. The Jets are time controlled and turn off after 15 minutes. Inconvenient to have to turn back on all of the time. The biggest gripe is with the cover tie downs. They are flimsy and lock every time. You have to use the supplied key to open them up. Hard to close at night. Did I say flimsy?Less than a week after installing the spa, a gust of wind hit the cover, blowing it off the spa, breaking the plastic clasps. The warranty is worthless. You have to register your cover within 10 days of purchase. It took almost 20 days after I ordered the spa before I received it. Useless. I wouldn't recommend this spa to anyone under 6'1".

The spa itself was great for the 12 months it worked (2017). It recently developed some electrical issues with the sensors and control panel that I believe I could easily fix if the mfg would respond to me. They have a 'customer support' site on their home page. I've tried for 6 weeks on American Spas website to get anyone to even acknowledge my existence. No reply at all. The spa is allegedly still under parts warranty, but when the manufacturer posts no phone numbers and either does not check their customer support email or does not care, the warrant y is useless. The control panel has a 'service' option to diagnose the problem, but of course the customer is locked out of that option, so you can't even diagnose the problem to order the parts to try to repair it. I'll keep pestering the manufacturer via their website, and I'll pull this post if they ever decide to help. Until they do help, I'll just keep educating the public via their various on-line distribution sites about their total lack of service.
