Customer Reviews for American Standard Townsend 8 in. Widespread 2-Handle High-Arc Bathroom Faucet with Speed Connect Drain in Polished Chrome

I am very disappointed with the quality of an American Standard Townsend Bathroom faucet I recently purchased. When my plumber installed the faucet, we noticed that the cold water side was not aligned properly. My plumber told me the cold water handle is built as a single unit and there is no set screw to adjust the alignment. I will never purchase another American Standard faucet.

I love the way it looks and the water comes out so smoothly. I also love that it arcs forward a bit making it so easy to keep that little area between the faucet and the backsplash clean. I couldn’t be happier with this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this about a month ago and I'm very happy with this faucet. I read other reviews on it and other people said it was complicated to install. I didn't think that at all. I installed it in like 15 minutes. You do have to make sure you have the correct type of sink with three holes far enough apart from each other. The faucet set itself is very well made and heavy duty. Well worth the cost. They clean very nicely. I especially like the way the drain plug works. It's construction is different from any other faucet I have had in the past. Other reviews I read people said it leaked. I have not had that problem at all. I think it was probably installation mistakes. Highly recommend this faucet.

We just had this faucet installed and, while I love the appearance, I don't like the finish as much as the finish on the Delta Dryden faucet which we have in another bathroom. The Delta finish seems to be of better quality; it is shinier and doesn’t spot as much. Also, the Townsend faucet arrived with a flaw on the finish of the spout and had to be returned, so it makes one wonder about quality control. In addition, the water pressure is weaker than the Delta Dryden (also 1.2 gpm), which may be a function of where the bathroom is located.

Beautiful product, heavy duty quality. Great Design

The satin nickel finish shows water spots. For a product that is meant to be used around water, it is unfortunate that the spout and handles must be dried off after every use. One of the handles overextends. That is, upon turning the water off, the handle doesn’t stop until it’s past the off position. Not by a lot, but it doesn’t line up like it should.

Aside from its overall "Stately" elegance, this faucet is a work of art! The massive solid construction of this faucet is complimented by its precision of operation. It has the appearance and feel of fine machine tooling! Construction of components and materials utilized are second to none! Definitely an overall contender for top choices in my estimation.

I researched and read other reviews that mentioned issues with the drain stopper and can honestly say that I didn't have any issues. This was one of the easier faucets that I have installed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this and was looking forward to installing no doubt. Well I opened and went through the box which was packaged very well. Inventories and all was accounted for. Liked the ideal of hot cold having a common line connection for faucet activity and individual lines to incoming hot and cold valves. Got ready by disassembling existing bathroom sinks faucets and hoses. Found I needed to get new 1/2” to 3/8 “ connectors for the New sinks feeds. Went and bought new metal valves and replaced my plastic old version valves. Thought I was good to go and went to install the faucet and wham it bit me hard. The set up was for 8inch center vanity top and not 4 1/2” like mine was. Major bummer and oversight on my part when ordering this product. I have to say lesson learned no doubt. Everything was so easy to do and it would of been a very nice addition to our restroom if I was able use them with my vanity set up. So I will have to wait a little time to buy another vanity that I will for sure used this set up then. Over all product was very well built and am confidence would of worked as well as it was built.

First, the install is very simple and quick. Second, the design is so elegant and beautiful. I just love it! I have no complaints about it and would recommend it to everyone thats in the market for a new faucet!

The spout is high enough to wash your hands easily and water flows very well. Can't never go wrong with American Standard products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just finished off a complete bathroom remodel installing this faucet. I couldn't be happier with it. I have swapped every faucet in my house (kitchen, laundry room, 3 baths (including showers) over the past couple of years, and this is the highest quality piece I have put in. It is seriously heavy, and the finish has a depth that cheaper, lighter units simply don't pull off. It LOOKS quality - and then you turn one of the handles. They turn like perfectly weighted rheostats. Like turning the knob on a great stereo - just classes up the whole experience. American Standard has done a great job with this. Also, the install - I've gotten used to plastic nuts holding faucets and handles in. Easy to install and do the job. There is something definitely to be said for this faucet however. Big, serious, brass nuts that you tighten with a proper basin wrench. Again, just quality. This sucker is built to be the last faucet that's going in the bathroom. Oh - and the drain install. Where has this been my whole life? Just push in a twist and voila - no adjustments or pinch clips? Just great. Spend the money. If you like the look, get this. You will not be disappointed.
