We have a garage wall that is partially below ground level. Over the years, it has started to let small amounts of water seep into the garage, and the concrete/block wall gets a bit damp. We selected this acrylic waterproofing coating to see if we could reduce or eliminate the seepage. When I first thought about acrylic (ie rubber) coating, I was afraid it may be hard to put on. This is not the case. While thick, when using a 1” nap roller, the coating rolled on quite smoothly. As of right now it looks like it has sealed things and stopped the seepage.
The instructions for preparation of the surface were daunting for me. I did some washing and brushing with a wire brush. I know I did not do the preparation up to professional standards, but I think it is still going to work.
The other pleasant surprise was that clean up with soap and water was as easy cleaning up latex paint. I am really pleased with the experience with this waterproofing product. They may have hit a home run here.
To fully complete our goal, we may want to continue to apply more and more coats, maybe up to five coats. We did not use the recommended taping process. This may bite us latter.
I will recommend it to friends and I will purchase more of it. Eventually I may have all my garage concrete/block walls with this waterproof coating -- that would be 800 sq ft. The way I have done it, I estimate that it will take about 12 gallons to fully complete the garage walls.
