For starters, I’m a woman, baby boomer category, on my own and a dedicated renovator. Also two years post-op double hip replacements. This thing is heavy! Just getting it from the store, to the car, out of the car, up the front steps and in and out of the house during installation was challenging. Also terrifying perching on a ladder on the front landing, see photo. You also can’t predicit if it will hit the doorknob or overhead light. Both turned out OK with less than the required clearance. SO, after intense study of the directions (confusing but OK), I spent 4 chilly hours on Saturday and finally achieved a working door with a large gap at the bottom. Got up to finish it on a freezing cold Sunday and realized I had installed it inside out. Directions about the hinge rail not very clear! So I had to take it off, redo it, remove the handle and lock and reinstall everything. This meant redrilling the hinges into the door and reinstalling the strike side attach rail as well. Four more hours! Also now required the “rain cap extender”. It finally made sense and now it fits perfectly. If you have a gap at the top or bottom, figure this additional piece out. This photo is without the plastic strips that will cover the screws. It was just too cold. I’ll add the closer and strike plate next weekend, paint the surround and pop on those strips next sunny day. It closes and locks without the plate at the moment. It’s a quality product with readable but dense instructions. I love it so far!

The strips that hold the glass/screen inserts rip apart in your hand when you try to remove them. Very disappointed!!! It is now pretty much useless. The door I had in my last house was much easier to switch out.

the contruction of the door is great, and the installation too much longer than 2 hours.. But Im no professional.. My only issue are the plastic brackets that hold the glass panel, or the screen panel into the door frame.. they are extremely difficult to snap in.. and hash temperatures has made them weak and brittle.. Id recommend installing braces you can screw in to hold in the panels, or save your self the hassle and get a door with sliding panels, with the screen function already a feature thats part of the door.

The view is great. Now I can look outside. Can't wait for Spring and Summer to look at my flowers. Thank you

Installation was more difficult than expected because several new holes were necessary.

Very pleased with door. It shuts and opens nicely. The handle and locking mechanism are quality made (costs $50 of purchased separately). The instructions aren't the best, however, if you lay the parts out and pre-read the instructions, that helps a lot (especially if you are installing by yourself). The only problem I had was installing the plastic screw cover strips on the top and sides. It took considerable thumb pressure to get them to snap into place. My next project is to buy a low-e Andersen sliding glass door for deck. Very pleased.

Easy installation! No headaches and the nice part is it is oops proof. The 2000 series is perfecf and affordable!

I purchased this door to replace a very old garage storm door. Installation was very easy and I recommend watching the you tube video before installing, as well as reading the instructions. The door changed the image of my entrance very much and it flows smoothly. I have 3 Anderson storm doors and the others are the "higher end" so I took a chance on this one for the garage and I am happy that I did. This is a great door at a very competitive price. I purchased the door at Home Depot.

This door does the job and looks great! Would have given it a 5 star except that the installation instructions were crappy. Don't expect to install it in the stated 2 hours. I'm not a professional but, I'm pretty sure they could not do it either unless they did one before. I had to redo a couple of steps, it took me 4+ hours.

Replacing older Anderson glass door. Door hydraulic closure more functional than older model.This one had both left/right option (3000 series didn’t have left hand option for non edged glass) Door lock was a bit different than old one so we used new lock but reused some old inner handle parts.

well when i got the door home i really thought i was in for a time...but to my surprise the insructions were very clear and i had it up in about 45 minutes! a big thank you to dennis at the dorman center.....

nice looking door. it did take longer to install than I anticipated more for the fact that I had to go out and buy 1 x 4 cedar board for a better fit than the door it replaced. Looks great

Easy to install and easy to follow instructions.

This storm door is an excellent purchase in my opinion. After debating for a few days on the correct door for my porch, I ended up grabbing this one today and installed it earlier this evening. The materials are a little nicer than I expected for the price and the door is more solid than I also expected. The instructions can be a little difficult to follow, but not impossible. It took me just under two hours to install by myself. I will note however, just like in other reviews, that the bottom door sweep is quite chintzy and will definitely need to be replaced (I plan on doing this one day this evening, and don't see it being a big time consumer or issue)

Glass has a big scratch across and sweep is inadequate.

Average door, may have got a bad one. Price is where this door stops being acceptable. Mine had seemingly bent hinge pins, had to be shimed on both sides of the 36x80 opening and a custom weather strip created for the bottom to seal the almost two inch gap. Following manufacturer install directions and using the one supplied shim left door not reaching latch jam and 1 inch gap at top of door. This door measures 35x78 even with the added shims and fillers it won't fill a 36 x80 opening. Far to universal to be correct fit. Stay away or be prepared to modify as I did.

First, the door is a nice looking door. The problem is the mounting extrusions are not heavy enough. After the door had been installed about 6 months and used VERY little, the extrusion the hinges are mounted in allowed the door to sag, become unsquare in the opening, and the latch no longer held the door shut properly. The door had to be re-installed, new holes drilled so the screws could grip new wood. The door does not have a striker plate, instead the door latches on the door frame, held on by 5 screws, which can be removed from the outside, thus anyone can get in the locked door with only a phillips screwdriver. The door frame that is the striker part is only 0.32" wide so you have to be VERY carefull in the placement of the frame opposite the hinge side. I bought this door because of the Anderson name on it and it looked nice in the display at the store. Thus, 5 stars for apperance, 1 star for installation methods, thus 2 stars.

I had this door professionally installed. It looks great except for the fact that the weather stripping is warped and allows weather and bugs in. This is obviously a manufacturer defect, but given the door was over $400 with shipping and installation. . . I had to buy a specific weather stripping to fix this problem. Andersen used to be quality....not anymore.

I love that it came with everything I needed. I love the gold brass handle and it wasn't that hard to install. It did meet my expectations except the Lower door sweep was too short.

Takes a bit to put in but if you follow directions it all works out well. Make sure to pay attention to the depth measurement requirements.

The door was 90% easy to install. It looks great. I would recommend it again to anyone

I love my new door and installed it easily following the directions. ( and I am a girl!) ; ) This door is a beautiful addition to my home, highlighting the front door and allowing morning light to shine into the living room..

This is an excellent value for what you get vs cost. I am an average DIY guy and was able to install it. There is some flexibility with the door opening, doesnt have to be exact. Only thing I dont like is the cheap rubber sweep. It should have been brush style and I would have given this a 5 star. Also the screen / window switch out, I mean its kind of clunky and where are you going to store the screen and window when not in use? Cool that you can switch it out but storage is a factor. The more expensive unit allows you to "roll the screen and window" down but then you dont have the full glass like this. Overall, happy and worth the price.

Door was a great fit. Easy to assemble / install. About an hour. Hardest part is making sure the hinge rail is mounted the correct way. Have to stop and think about that one for a minute. I did have an issue with a screen that arrived with a couple rows of thread missing. An item that was bad with the screen material prior to making the assembly. One call to Andersen and the no charge replacement is on the way.

We love our Anderson glass door! It's beautiful and allows us to enjoy the outdoors from inside our home. It was Very easy to install. Super happy with our Anderson Storm door.
