There are Four hinges on this door and this is the second time in less than one year the bottom hinge broke. And since it is not an installation issue we have to pay $50 for install. This would be an expensive venture. This is on our front door. I would not recommend this door.

Very easy to install (even by ONE(1) Person). But just to make it easier, 2 is recommended because the main door may not be even and may require re-installing it with shims. Love the ease of the pull-down hidden screen. This keeps the house warmer and allows us to open the door and check for raccoons prior to letting the dogs out for their break. Looks great:

I have had this door for about 2 years and my only complaint is that the screen part has failed. It has pulled away and ripped from the track. Upon closer inspection I can see at the top of the door where the screen is stored it appears to have a plastic guide that was a little too tight. So every time it went down it would pull it a little eventually tearing it. Home Depot was no help and I sent an email to Anderson and never got a response. I love the concept of this door but I am hesitant on buying another one. That's why I scored Quality to average.

We recently purchased the doors for a seasonal home because we have them on our permanent home and really liked them. Unfortunately, we cannot use the key to deadbolt them from the outside because there is an obstruction in the frame that prevents it. We paid to have them professionally installed. We have not had any luck working with Emco/Anderson directly. Their last solution was for us to have a contractor remove the obstruction, which is built into their frame. I have sent photos of the striker plate from our doors at our home and the doors we just installed, but their response is they don't see a difference. Unless there is a resolution reached I will not be purchasing Anderson products again. I only gave them a 3 because they look very nice.

My wife and I like the solid glass it brings out our front door, the retractable screen is nice Putting it up was fairly easy and only had it for a week it's better then the storm door see took down

Installed a month ago. The installation went without any issues. Instructions were very clear and the included tools, wedges, etc. made it very easy for me to do without any assistance. The door and included hardware all function perfectly. Worth the price and yes, I would recommend this to anyone willing to undertake the installation or have it done for them.

Good looking door. Special ordered due to size need. Contractor had issues putting it in but those were resolved with some blocks of wood. He left the screen open as it was in the 90's. and we wanted the ventilation. Today, it's in the 60's, so I went to close the storm window and noticed the screen wasn't in the track all the way to the top. I went to push it in and that didn't seem to work either. Tried to lift it up and it didn't retract, instead it bulged out of the door. Well, there are two screws holding a panel on at the top of the door where the screen retracts. I removed the screws, because Anderson says the screen is replaceable..... and the whole business explodes out on me. The basic operation is like a window shade, which in a former life I sold, so how hard should this be to make right?? Couldn't do it. I would add that the overall assembly of the door is marginal there is trim on the door that isn't straight, it simply isn't well put together for the money. I have a Larson door, similar style, which is much better made. I bought Anderson because of past experience with quality from them and I could get it faster than the Larson door, price was comparable. My mistake. Pictures included. You can see where the top bar of the lower window, what is the middle of the door, is slanted, there is a big gap on the right side and the trim almost touches on the left side.

I needed a new door for my house. Thus had new French door replaced on my house; French door cost a lot. Then came on to replace old storm doors to make new French door look nice. I had to order this storm doors as custom size because the measurement was an INCH less than standard size. It cost me over $1000 with installation. I wish the glass was low E to help lower temp on French door. It looks nice and so far it’s good, only time will tell.

The door is very nice, I like the retractable screen. Seems very well built but the instructions are rediculous and I work in maintenance and have worked as a carpenter. I could make very little sense of the 20 or so instruction manuals with it. Overall I think if you have some common building knowledge most people can wing it.I would say it's worth the money for a good door.

Purchased the door and assembled in a reasonable amount of time. The quality of the door seems very robust and we love the sliding screen/glass window on top! Would definitely recommend this screen door to anyone with pets also.

I would have liked to have given my experience with this door a five star, but cannot. I gave it the rating I did more so because of our experience with Anderson Doors. We received a damaged door. The damage was that the retractable screen was not manufactured properly; We noticed the screen was coming out of the door frame, a few days after the door was installed. We called the number on the door as instructed on the door sticker, to contact Anderson itself. We called Anderson and explained what the problem was with the door, and they said they could send a new part out to us, but we would have to fix it ourselves. We told them that we paid a little over 600.00 dollars in total for a custom made door, and we shouldn't have to fix it ourselves. They said call Home Depot and we did. The People at Home Depot had the belief that Anderson repaired their mistakes, and I said they didn't because they told me they didn't. They called Anderson and got told the same thing. Home Depot came through for us and is going to fix it themselves and also give us the money back that we will pay for the repair, by a contractor. We worked with Kristen at the West Jordan Home Depot and She did everything She could to help us. After the repair I'm sure everything will be okay. Home Depot is a stand up company that wants to do right by their customers, if they can, but I can't say as much for Anderson Doors. The door really improves the appearance of the front of our home. It's very attractive and the three things I really like about the door is that when you want to keep the door open all you have to do is tap the button at bottom of door with your foot. This really works for me as I petite and don't have the height to comfortably reach the top of the door where the assembly usually is that holds the door open. I love the retractable screen from the top of door. You can control how much screen you want exposed. Also, because it isn't on the bottom you don't have to worry about hands or feet pushing on it to loosen it eventually where it starts to bow out or in. If you have company over or if you have kids at home you can just raise the screen so it can't be pushed on. The last thing I like is it is going to really help keep out the cold drafts from outside, coming into the house, in the winter, along with our front door. I love the idea of opening my door in the winter because I have my new storm door.

Instructions and a couple of assisting plastic pieces make the install well thought out. A helper never hurts, but I did it solo. Hardware feels high quality. Was able to re-key to match entry door as a bonus. It was a nice improvement!

Enormously disappointing. Andersen products to have a very high reputation, but this door isn't worth the price or the Andersen name. We had the door professionally installed and there are several immediate issues - the roll screen mechanism is already coming apart, it separates from the track (see photo). The roll screen closure at the top feels so cheap and causes the thin plastic top portion of the door to pull so severely that it is clear this functionality will fail soon. The hydraulic door closure didn't come with nuts or anything to secure it so the pins just barely hold it together but any unintentional upward kick will knock it completely apart. Additionally the door closure either closes so softly that the door doesn't latch or slams so hard that it sounds like the cheap $50 door we replaced. Home Depot will allow us to return the door but that will cost us another professional uninstallation and reinstallation since we arranged it with our own contractor. Buyer beware.

Purchased this door on 5-5-18. A little time consuming to install, but was able to get everything fitting nicely. The retractable screen was my favorite part! I have been pleased with the door until last night when my wife noticed that the screen was out of the track on the left side. I slowly tried to roll it up but it was not going back properly. I removed the top cover and the screen was wrinkled up on the left side. I was able to get it straightened up, but the next time you use it it does the same thing. I noticed that the plastic piece on the left side of the screen roller that fits down into the track is springing forward and will not stay in position like the right one. Still trying to decide what to do since this part seems to be excluded from the warranty. Don't really want to spend $45 on a door that I have had less than a month.

This door lets in a lot of light and the screen system in nice. Seems to work well enough and is an attractive addition to our cabin. I rated it 4 stars for the installation. The plastic guides included to help position the door in the frame were not effective in my particular situation. The bottom guide placed the door too high for the bottom door seal (I had to raise the sill). and the side guide indicated the opening was too narrow (I threw it out when it indicated the opening was too small and I knew it wasn't). Luckily, the position I installed it in was easily adaptable. Other than that the instructions are clear and relatively easy to follow. As indicated, I would recommend this product.

My family loves the door. It was easily installed. It's not to heavy but, not to light. We love it.

I've only had this door installed for 2 days so far, but I'm thrilled with it. 1) The fact that it has its own dead bolt lock so I can open my inside door and keep the storm door closed and locked is wonderful. 2) The "foot pedal" mechanism for locking the door open is so much easier to use than the old metal sliding locks that had to be moved manually. 3) The hidden screen...I love the fact that I can turn this from a storm door into a screen door without having to store a storm window in the basement or garage and risk breaking the glass. I know I saw a comment posted by someone else complaining that when the upper window is lowered, exposing the screen, it does not go all the way down and leaves a gap at the bottom that insects can utilize to get between the panes of glass and get inside...but there is a rubber or vinyl strip between the 2 panes of glass at the top to act as a barrier to keep the insects on the outside, even if they do get between the panes of glass.

The door is nice, only complaints are the finish trim is NOT easy to install, mine was missing hardware (short on screws) and I missing these orange plastic alignment clips... I survived without them, just would have been cool if they were there.

Ok, so I bought the Andersen 2500 series storm door. I got home and opened it up and saw that I had to construct the door frame, mount it to the door and then mount it to my house. (Something I am totally capable of doing.) However, I decided to return this door and fork out an additional $50 for the 3000 series storm door that was pretty much already constructed. It’s pretty much the same door except it is preconstructed. Just opened the box popped it in my front door frame. A few screws here a few screws there and I was done. I give the 2500 series 3 stars just for the construction side. I give the 3000 series door 5 stars because I love it!

Easy to install good instructions works great

The door was packaged nicely and included all the hardware needed for the installation. They even included drill bits for installing the lockset. I really liked the pull down screen that stored easily in the top of the door. A full view door with a screen that stores away.

It is an awesome storm door strong and easy to install

I love the two storm doors I put in. One was right and the other left so it was perfect they could go either way. The screen is at the top so my pets can't hurt them. They love to sit and look out at the bottom. I put them in myself, the directions were very good and I was able to install them by myself. I would definitely recommend this product. They look good and let a lot of light in.

This door was easy to install. The directions were clear and accurate. I am very pleased with the product. I would highly recommend this door.
