Very happy with this purchase! It was a bit bigger than I expected but not complaining. I ordered the 4x4 post adapter with the mailbox which made installation a breeze. I also added a coat of car wax to preserve the red color here in the hot Florida sun. Others have complained about the hinge connection not being metal but I have not had a problem with mine. My mailman is very happy now.

This is a very nice, large metal mailbox. The color is very bold and here in Maine, that helps the snow plows see it when plowing the snow off the roads. The front has a nice firm handle attached at two points. The flag is also metal and moves easily. I mounted mine with the help of a short length of 2x8. I cut the wood to length and my plan was to screw that to the mailbox holder and then screw the mailbox on the wood through the holes provided along each long side. The problem with that plan was that the neighbor's mailbox is adjacent, on the same mailbox stand preventing access to one side to screw it down. So I changed my plan to fasten the mailbox onto the 2x8 first, then screw it to the platform from below. That worked fine but then I found the wood I used was too long and prevent the door from opening! So I had to undo it all and cut the wood shorter and try again. The instruction sheet did in fact mention one should check the clearance of the hinge! It was a quick mounting solution that is solid. There is a mounting plate that is sold separately. The inside of the base is 18½” long and 7¾” wide. The wood section below should be about 17” long. I applied some big yellow numbers which produced an excellent contrast with the red. Great looking mailbox, and it looks durable too.

Very nice and durable mailbox. The gauge of the metal is heavy duty. A magnet at the inside top of the door helps to keep it closed. Its a really nice red and great coverage with the paint to help protect the metal from corrosion. It is approved by the Postmaster General so it must be good. Ordered online and it arrived in excellent condition since it was packaged really well.

Great look and a quality mail box. Gotta love the bright red color of this box. It really stands out and adds a touch of class to a normally boring thing. Added bonus is now if expecting new friends I can tell them to look for the red mailbox. The box itself is a larger size and the construction is excellent. Loads of capacity and the door handle/flag is a nice silver which stands out. Very happy with my choice.

The box is well made and sturdy. However, the latch does not keep the door closed. I may need to return it.

Holds mail like a champ. I've owned this mailbox for a couple weeks and have no complaints. It was packaged decently and everything worked out of the box. Of course, it's a mailbox, so there's not a whole lot that could go wrong (Right? Maybe?). Installation was simple. I used a $5 plastic bracket sold at HD (Store SKU #458800). The silver handle and flag give this a clean, modern look as opposed to the standard red flag, which is nice. Biggest pro: makes my neighbor jealous Biggest con: doesn't filter out spam

A little different twist on the typical style. The pull handle is nice and the silver flag classy. Otherwise, there are no major surprises here. It is a bit different without standing out or looking strange. It is made of typical sheet metal and can be mounted in multiple ways. I'm replacing my nearly 20 year old model which was a bit larger. This box is "large," but not "extra large." I think you'll find it sufficient for most residential applications. I'm not a fan of the plastic tab that holds the door closed. I fear that after a few yearly cycles of hot and cold, it could fail. There are mounting holes inside the box that allow a direct mount. I instead chose to attach it to a 3/4" board mounted to my post, using the side holes. It fits that kind of mount perfectly as long as you rip the board to the correct size. See photo. Made in China

Never thought I could get excited about a mailbox but the Architectural Mailboxes Boulder Post Mount Mailbox Black with Premium Silver Handle and Silver Flag is a really sharp product. It is a large size mailbox. That means more packages left in the box and not on the front porch to tempt thieves. Everything from the weight, to the handle, to the hinge on the door, feels like quality to me. Although Architectural Mailboxes recommends using their posts and mounting brackets, the layout of the predrilled holes makes it easy to install for whatever type post you desire. Highly recommend.
