We purchased this same mailbox previously and liked it so much we bought a 2nd one for our vacation home. It's sturdy and keeps out rain & snow. Depending on where we are, we can't always check our mail daily. With this mailbox, we never worry about items going missing in between our pick ups.

Well, I would have given this a 5-star review, but the design allows an oversized package to be jammed in, resulting in internal pieces bending and being unable to open the top of the mailbox. The only way we could get it open was to pull until the security shelf ripped off (it was only tack-welded, not exactly "secure"). You could not access the bent parts from the bottom. Why the mail lady decided to cram a 13"x11"x3.5" that contained an 8 pound ream of 32# paper is absolutely beyond me. But she did, and now we have no locking mailbox, and we have to fight with the USPS to try to get them to pay for a new one. These things ain't cheap.

extremely sturdy with a lock to help resist pilfering of mail. The door has an attached slide making it impossible to stick your hand in to grab the mail. This is a large capacity box. I have had the smaller version of this mailbox (which is still large) for 9 years without any problems other than minor rusting. I just wanted a larger box. My one and only mistake was not buying this larger box originally.

I've had it up for about a week now and...
I've had it up for about a week now and nothing has broke yet. ( NOT ENOUGH TIME TO RATE ) It appears to be well constructed, I had to mount it in a unusual way, Drilling new mounting holes in the bottom. The metal is thick enough and it is securely mounted..... I would buy this mail box again.

I installed this mailbox 4 months ago. When it rains, the mail is wet. Not sure how the moisture gets in. I am now needing to replace the lock mechanism, because it is 'frozen shut'. Not because of the weather...I have lubricated it, and it still is not un-locking. I have to use plyers to turn the key, and it is bending the key each time. Very Very frustrated with this mailbox.

This is a very reliable sturdy high quality mailbox. I found it worked better to tilt the mailbox back when installing so that the mail would fall easily into the receptacle. The only problem I have is the lock freezing and sticking, even after application of heat and lubricant. I will have to replace the lock because water gets in, and I had to take the lock out to get my mail. Aside from that, I am very satisfied.

We are happy with our new mailbox. However, we give it only 4 stars because when the mail drops down, it doesn't lay flat in the bottom compartment. It stays vertical at the back of the compartment. This is because the upper flap extends so far back that there just isn't space for the mail to lay flat. The mail is secure and not reachable through the flap (because it extends so far back) even though the mail is standing vertical. Our last mailbox, by a different manufacturer, was the same way. We wish someone would design a better way to make full use of the large bottom compartment. It does hold a fair amount of mail - letters, catalogs, and a small package or soft-sided package.

The mailbox is great. It was easily installed with pole ( ordered separately). The bracket that was included in a recommended bundle was not required if both the mailbox and post are ordered. The bracket is used to connect to an existing post. The mailbox was larger than anticipated is a parcel box.
