Top Rails not Snapping In: SOLUTION!! I absolutely love this product. It was easy to install, is sturdy, and looks beautiful! My only issue was those darn top railings not snapping in. I read in many other posts of people having the same issue. I solved the problem by using 2 inch metal to metal self tapping screws. I started the screw underneath the rail, it then penetrated upwards and then grabbed the inside part of the rail. To my delight the screw continued grabbing until it pulled the top rail down and snapped it into place! Now the rail is snapped and screwed and SOLID! Honestly, this should be part of the design/instructions. The screws are completely hidden, however, I will still paint them black. I used 3 screws for each 6 ft section (one on each end and one in the middle)

Since this was an "online order only" product I was very skeptical. I normally like to see tons of reviews and/or see and touch the product before spending this kind of money (4K). With little to no reviews out there, I took a chance on this mainly due to the outstanding installation videos available on the Aria website (www.ariarailing.com) and the 20% lower cost difference from the 2 other quotes I received on similar products. I hope I don't sound like a company rep because I write very few reviews and really hope someone in my situation will see this and make the leap. I have only had the railing up a few weeks so I can't speak to the longevity but I could not be more pleased with the overall quality and ease of installation of the product. Although we have more than average experience as a DIY person, I believe if you watch the installation videos, anyone with average skill can handle this job and achieve excellent results. My wife and I completed 70+ feet of railing with 2 sets of stairs in a long weekend. Quotes from friends "looks like something from a magazine".

Happy overall- 3"x3" posts are very sturdy- even the 42" tall version. Assembly of panels would have been much easier if bolts for U brackets were pilot drilled (.060"D) in posts. Top hand rail is so tight that it had to be slid on railing- aided by hammer and wood block- but rather have too tight than loose. Appearance is very nice. Again- good product overall.Jim

Check measurements
Product height is improperly specified. Their 42 inch kit is 39 inches. The product only reaches 42 inches if installed with 4 inch gap from the base. Some municipalities require a 2 inch maximum gap from base. Customer service will give excuses and the manufacturer will give you condescending excuses for these dimensions. This misinformation cost me a lot of money. Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.

We need to do a better job describing the railing. In the description we state the actual size (minus the posts). Let me change this on homedepot.com. Sorry about that as this must have been frustrating and a waste of time. HFAria

I didn’t hear any swearing while the husband was assembling this railing, and it’s beautiful. The bronze finish matches the desktop perfectly, and the price was very good. No problems at all and I am very happy with the result!!
