Love the range of colors! This is my third installation of Armacost Lighting. After the first installation, I learned A LOT of what to not do and what to do. This was a simple installation in a master bathroom. I put the lighting above and below a mirrored medicine cabinet so I only used a total of 8ft. I paired it with a 30 watt power supply. It is so fun to change the colors and tie them into holidays (i.e., green for St. Paddy's day, red for valentines, etc.) We also use this as our bathroom nightlight which works out fabulous. To do a correct install, you have to plan ahead. First, purchase the proper in wall speaker wire and make sure your sheet rockers don't bury it.We had our electrician install a switched outlet so we can control the lighting with a switch. I ran one set of speaker wires from the base of the mirror to a box that would be behind my vanity so I could plug it in to the power supply. I then ran another speaker wire from the bottom of the mirror to the top. Made the connections and used the double stick tape adhered them to the mirror and done!

These LEDs are bright and beautiful. I really love the light they put out - and combined with the controller you get all sorts of lovely colors. That, and you can fade the brightness of any color, which also changes the effect. The provided installation instructions are outstanding - obviously written by someone who has actually used this product. They are clearly written using plain English and correct grammar - which is not a given these days. It helps to sit down and read all the instructions before starting on the project. My one complaint is concerning the connection options provided. The connectors they provide to link together tape lights don't work well. They come loose if you breath the wrong way, and then are useless if you try to reconnect them. (The tape terminals get dented, causing the connector to no longer work). I ended up have to hold one connection together with a paper clip! To splice in a longer run between linked tape strips, I purchased "European style" four post connectors directly from Armacost. Much to my dismay, they were way too large for the tiny stranded 22 AWG wires that come with this system! It just doesn't make sense! So, the instructions mention soldering as a way to get superior connections. I think that is the takeaway here. If you really want a robust and reliable installation, you need to be handy with a soldering iron, and find your own reliable connectors to splice together very small wires.

I installed 8 foot color LED and a color mixer in my kitchen. I absolutely love the lights. The lights arrived with clear directions and were simple to install. I cut the strip in 2 pieces and connected them together with 22awg wire to go over the stove area. We had a problem with some colors on the strip that was away from the power supply. I contacted Armacost technical support and worked with an excellent representative named Matt. He immediately reassured me that he was going to help me get the lights working. Very confidently. We walked through a couple troubleshooting steps, then Matt determined the was a problem with part of the set. He promptly shipped out a new set. I installed the new set in 15 minutes after they arrived, and they work well. These lights are a great value. I don't know why anyone needs anything more elaborate, or expensive for their kitchen area. We love playing with the color choices. We mounted the color mixer and power supply inside a cabinet that holds our microwave. I definitely recommend buying these lights. I've attached a few pictures.

We had this product installed by an electrician and in any area over 6ft we have drastic color shift. I bought the colored LEDs versus the white to allow me to select the warmness of the lights. Instead my lighting is pinkish on one end and greenish on the other end. There were also a few bad spots in the center that had to be swapped out but nothing seems to correct the color shift. I wish I would have just installed the white. (They also flicker if on the lower dim settings).

I've read about and seen LED lighting for some time now and knew that's what I wanted in my new office. Searching the net I came across Armacost at HomeDepot and I quickly knew I found a winner. But I had no idea it would be that good! This lighting is so good I've been able to remove my separate task lights. Besides being able to dim the lights and change their color if installed per their recommendations these lights cast no shadows. The spread precision and quality is beyond my wildest dreams. I am a Photoshop user and not having any shadows anywhere in my work area is critical. Heck - I don't even need my back-lit keyboard anymore. Armacost you rock!

These lights are junk! I bought 3 drivers and a couple rolls of the RGB tape to install as under cabinet lights. All but one remote works now (not even 6 months later). And half the time the remote that works takes a few tries to come on. I replaced one of the drivers after a month of installing. The remote quit working before I could tell which was bad. I'm ripping it all out and going with something different.

I have 5 different brands of these. Some are easier to additional lengths to. This brand and model is not the easiest, but it is also not the most difficult. This product is real easy to install.

I actually returned the product for a couple of reasons. First off, was that several reviews had commented that the tape did not stick well. Second was the way the strips had to connect together, and the bulk of the converter unit. Third was the cost, as there are many other products available now that cost about 80% less than this item, when all the necessary parts are put together. They all seemed to have similar issues and failures, as well as happy customers too!

The package came open and without the shorter extensions so now I have this ridiculous space between each new section. The eights are split so I can not get 1 uniform color. I'm really disappointed. These look so tacky.

I bought 4 strands of these. 3 of them work great and I love them! One was faulty when I bought it and had to return it. Other than that, I’m extremely happy with them and would recommend them!

The color is good, the cut distance are good. The connectors for the cuts ends are not very good. I spend a lot of time trying to get them to work and still didn't use them. I used a different universal connector.

The installation went fairly smoothly. The only difficulty was in splicing the four wire strips inside the cabinets. I would suggest longer length splice kits (>8 inches) and splice (wire to wire) connections, rather than wire nuts or solder. A flat bar splice connection (similar to LED to wire) would be far less obtrusive than a wrap of black tape over wire nuts.

The range of colors is wonderful. Installation required some soldering because 1) there was only one provided connector and the configuration used required more, and 2) a good solder was required for proper LED function. This unit was installed as under cabinet lighting in a small kitchen.

I could not even connect one strip to connector. The product is not user friendly to install with help from a electrician.

We bought this undercabinet lighting for my new kitchen and we love it!! We love how it changes colors and the different types of white. Now for the installation we needed to make four separate runs underneath the kitchen cabinets so we called the company and asked what wire could use to make jumpers. The lady on the phone told is 18 gauge four wire would do it or 20 gauge four wire would do it so we bought the 18 gauge ran for separate leads to the power supply which hooked up to the small wireless remote box we bought and basically just connected the wires to the strips that we cut. The directions were not very good for a layperson but it seemed to work out very nice

After reading reviews from others I found the install pretty easy and would like to .share my tips. 1st since my backsplash is tiled direct wiring would have been difficult so I bought the wireless remote and plugged it in the outlet for the microwave. Next I read comments about the connectores not working well. I used a terminal block to gap between both sides of the microwave. My install was for 1 strip cut in 2 for either side of the microwave. I ran the wires from the remote to a terminal block then to each strip. Both ends of the strip have a lead but since i side is 2' long and the other 4' i had to use another block for a jumper wire from one side to the other of the microwave. I used 4 wire communication wire about 20 cents a foot. I could not find a terminal block at home depot and bout one with 10 connections $9 at Lowes it cuts easy with scissors into blocks of 4 West Marine has an even better quality.block for 2,4, or 6 wire connections. Overall not too difficult it just would have been better if everything was pre-engineered and you did not have figure out so much on your own. I have 2 Home Depots near me and only 1 carried the product.

I had to return and repurchase the lights, power source, and remote multiple times because nothing would work consistently. The concept is great, but the quality was terrible. When my third remote stopped working, I returned the entire set.

These lights are super easy to install. I put them under the cabinets in my kitchen. I made the mistake of buying one set in the store and the other online. I did this because you can only get the connectors online and the shipping was then free, once the lights were added, due to the amount purchased I did also need two sets of lights. The connectors made the project simpler than soldering. The problem with getting the sets from two different sources is that the light colors didn't match. Once I ordered another set online, all was good.

This product is obviously designed to rake money from your pockets. Once you have decided on the purchase you realize you have to purchase all the items it needs in order to operate. Very expensive.

Great product. New LED technology. All of the guests that visit our house are amazed at the brightness of the lights under the kitchen cabinets.

Works as intended. Rgb colors are crisp, accurate and the adhesive tape holds well. From a technical standpoint it's very easy to hook up. one thing Id recommend is a 12ft-15ft version to cover more area, but the 8ft works for me

The sticky back needs help. I used contact cement to remedy the problem.

I just finished installing a quantity of 2 Custom Color 8’ RGB strip Tape Lights Model No. RF5050030-08CCD with the 21 Color Controller and 60 watt Converter. This product is wonderful in appearance and quality. Its functionality will please the most discerning customer. It is not the lowest cost product, but no competitor comes close to functionality and versatility. The product support and customer service is unrivaled. I know; I'm beginning to sound like the owner, but I was very pleased with the communications and product support I received this October 2014 during my installation. Would buy this product for any future installation; and, I highly recommend it for your use.

the way this product looks so beautiful under my kitchen cabinets is unbelievable ! it enhances our whole kitchen not bulky like this ugly socket type leds itstucked out of sight and the only thing you see is what needs to be seen the beautiful different colored lights , this product is a bit pricey but worth it !!

The string of lighting installs very easily, though it's not quite clear that there's a separate controller needed (either wireless with remote or hard-wired options) along with the wiring strip and the low-voltage transformer. So, be aware that these two additional pieces of equipment are needed as well as the tape lighting. The light quality is very good (for all of the color spectrum), but connecting the various strips together is not easy in terms of getting both strips to properly light (the color of light is consistently different between the strips unless perfectly joined together. Still not sure how to achieve a consistency for this connection. If this can be accomplished, the tape light itself it light, bright and fairly easy to install (though I would secure in place with more than the self-adhering tape at the back of the tape just to ensure that the strip remains in place long term). Not a bad product - especially if you do not need to join two strips. Also, cutting to length is quite easy.
