I purchased 6 cases of orange and 6 cases of black VCT tile to do the floors in my detached garage. I installed them myself in a checkerboard pattern. They were pretty simple and easy to install. The hardest part was finding the center of of the garage.

More defects than other colors. By defects, I mean a large blue piece of vinyl melted into the center randomly. Overall, color was consistent across 5 cases and I would use again.

We used this product in a workshop at our house over ten years ago. It has proved durable and functional so we chose it for a kitchen and sunroom for a 1950's rental house. Installation is straightforward. Prep and clean the floor, snap chalk lines, spread adhesive, start at the center, and work to the wall. The adhesive can be messy, but cleans up easily with mineral spirits. The tiles are a little hard to cut, but a sharp razor knife and a firm cutting surface helps.

Seems like a good product. Easy to lay down for a first timer like me. There was a bit more color variation than I expected but no problem. Inspect the box if you have it shipped. Easy to get damaged corners but just used those for the trimmed pieces. VCT adhesive was also new to me. No problem. Spread it with the recommended trowel and let it dry a couple hours. It ends up like contact cement. Tiles stick solid as soon as they're set in place.

Make sure you order more than you need the colors and lot numbers do not match if you need to order extra. , I had to order an extra box twice because the color was so far off. For some reason this batch was very brittle and any little speck of dirt that was on the floor cracked the tile.l

Response from Armstrong FlooringNov 2, 2017
Good Morning. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our product. I am sorry you had issues with this flooring. VCT is a dye lot sensitive product, flooring from different runs (dye lots) will look different and should not be installed together. Installing fro different dye lots can be addressed with maintenance. If you have two groups of tile and the colors aren't a perfect match, you need to make sure everything is nice and clean after the job is in and maybe give the tile a light scrub with a neutral detergent and a blue/green 3m scrubbing pad or equal (nothing coarser than that). Make sure you don't flood the floor with water. Rinse it carefully, let it dry thoroughly, Put on about 4-5 coats of commercial polish and possibly some high speed burnishing and everything should blend together much better. We are not saying you are going to have a perfect color match but it should improve things substantially. Also it is very important to make sure the sub-floor is clean and free of debris to avoid tile cracking or imperfections telegraphing through the flooring. Again I do apologize for any inconvenience. Have a great day. Armstrong

I love this tile. My only complaint is with the lousy packing job, as the tiles shipped in a box without any padding. It got knocked around in shipping and arrived open in 2 places and with breakage. On another note, I thought I would be able to do the installation myself after doing some research, but when I tried to cut the tile myself, I found it very brittle and not cutting cleanly. I ended up hiring a flooring guy to cut and lay it after I did all the prep. Glad I did.

Got this color along with 2 other colors. The only reason I have it 4 stars and not 5 is I had to buy a whole case 45sq. ft. And only needed 20, but the price was right.

I installed this in my 50s kitchen along with two other colors to create the pattern I desired. This color, classic black, was a lot more brittle than the other two colors. It broke and chipped very easily. It was perfectly fine once installed so don't be afraid to purchase classic black, just be aware that you have to handle the individual tiles with a lot more care than you do tiles of other colors. Look amazing when complete!

Great sturdy tiles for not a whole lot of money
We laid these with the White Out VCT tiles. Now, beware that some of them are a little irregular, but not too bad. It just makes it a little bit of a pain when laying them.

As an amateur installer, it was fairly easy enough to work with.
I used these tiles to replace a floor in a 1948 travel trailer. I had to do a bit of trial and error in cutting these tiles. I first tried to use one of the tile cutters that score and snap, but that was a poor choice. The tiles didn't snap cleanly. Then I went to using a straight edge and scoring with a utility knife before snapping the tiles. This was ok, but I still had tiles that wouldn't cooperate. Once I figured it out and kept using the utility knife/straight edge to score (but scored each tile more than 10 times) and then slowly/carefully/gently snapped the tiles I had success. If I need to do this again on another project, I think it will go smoothly. Attached picture is probably not great quality. It was taken inside the barn where I'm working on the trailer and there are no lights.

Nice flooring but watch out for irregular tiles
I purchased these as well as the Classic Black. Pretty sturdy tiles, installation was pretty easy however, some of the tiles are not square. Not a huge problem but buy some extra ones just in case. Our kitchen is 16' square and all the tiling was completed over the weekend. We used the adhesive that Armstrong recommends that is sold on this site, and rented a 100 lb roller. Helpful tidbit here. We rented the roller on Friday afternoon and returned Monday morning. Since it was on a weekend, we were only charged for a 1 day rental. Also, make sure to go somewhat easy on the adhesive you lay down. Less is definitely more or it will be oozing out from under the flooring. Spread a decent sized area, you need to wait 30 minutes, then lay the tiles on top. Then use the roller. I plan on using their floor wax with a sponge mop once all cabinets are installed.

Good Product
Tiles were special ordered and came in within days of ordering, ( I was told 2 weeks). We used the Pomegranate Red tiles as accent tiles. First time installing these tiles - Worked out pretty well I would say. This is the Dormitory of our RED BARN project. Should last a long time.

New Retro Floor that is Clean and safe!
Five years ago, my husband and I bought our 1962 home. We decided long ago that we loved the mid- century style and decided to decorate our home in that period. Decorating our home in that style has been easy and affordable except when it came to finding a kitchen floor replacement. We had layers of linoleum in our kitchen that most certainly contained asbestos. Fast forward to present day, we have 3 kids under the age of three and little time. We needed something that was safe for our twin girls to crawl on and our son to play toy trucks on. We also needed some floor replacement that was clean and durable. We have spent countless hours looking for a vinyl floor or something that spoke 'mid-century floor' to us. We were thinking of getting a custom printed floor done but that was going to cost us > $1000. We went out again looking this year when I declared that 'I didn't care anymore, I just wanted something fresh and clean!!' We went to the box stores and other places looking at tile, vinyl floors, square tiles with sticky backing, etc. I wanted something softer than tile but more durable than linoleum. I came across this TINY section of home depot and on the bottom shelf was 3 sets of VCT tiles- white, gray, and black. There was a sticker that promoted more colors but there were no samples or no pictures. It was very frustrating to shop for the VCT tiles in the store. Anyways, I purchased some VCT tile samples from Armstrong to view color samples and quality. We really liked the lemon lick color and found examples of our basketweave design on mid-century websites referring to linoleum and also using the VCT tiles. The installation took roughly 12-15 hours but it was probably that long just because of the chosen pattern. The tiles seem to be very durable and of course, no asbestos! My only complaint is the lack of samples or advertisements in the Home Depot stores. I think this product could be a best seller for its limitless design options and for those who don't want a floor that looks like faux wood or stone.

Beautiful VCT tile
VCT tile is a great choice for area were there is water, high traffic, and durability is needed. We put it in our laundry and are happy with the brightness and durability of this tile. Good for many years to come with little care required.

Armstrong VCT tile
1) Product arrived on time. 2) Home Depot price was fair. 3) Product lived up to expectations. 4) Packaging needs improvement, many pieces were chipped from transport. 5) Home Depot should carry more color options, half of my order (black tiles) had to come from others. 6) Many product instruction videos available on-line, helpful to review prior to purchase, and prior to installation.

Garage floor
Purchased 450 sq ft of off white and black Armstrong tile 3.2 mm thick and S-750 Armstrong adhesive. Alternated 4 white and 4 black tile doing about 100 sq ft at the time. Floor prep was very crucial, removing layers of paint from a 50 year old garage took some effort. Let the adhesive cure for a couple of days, but if I had to do it again I would use Armstrong S-240 adhesive to expedite the use of the area.

Awesome tile, great color!
"White out" I choose this bright white with a very soft grayish fleck to alternate with the color "shocking" (hot pink) for our pet grooming salon. It looks awesome!

BEAUTIFUL!!!
OMG! This tile is beautiful ! We installed DIY in our pet grooming salon, "shocking" alternating with "White Out". What an amazing result! I am including a picture during installation and will add a picture when finished. It was easy to install. The edge pieces were cut with dewalt utility knife. We did not use an expensive tile cutter. The edge pieces were an aggravation to cut because we had to learn as we went. I highly recommend this tile! I highly recommend installation with Roberts 2057 1-gal. Premium Vinyl Tile Adhesive. NOTE***I ordered 7 boxes and only 9 corners were broken out of all the tile.

does what a tile should do
My contractor recommended this model of tile for the employee bathroom in my office. I selected the color. He installed it without any mention of problems. I am happy with its appearance after a week. I have no negative issues with it.
