Poor quality paint
I was told by a Home Depot paint specialist that this paint was better for stucco than the Behr ultra and decided to try it. What a mistake as it seems to be poor quality paint that bubbles in the can and on the wall. I would switch to a higher quality paint but already painted the front of my house. I am not sure what to do? I also am concerned about it fading as I hear the fading properties on this paint are not as good as their other lines. I would have paid more if I knew this before painting. I also am surprised by the poor quality control on labeling as the helpline number on the can was incorrect and missing 4 digits. If Behr can’t get the label right how are they going to get the paint right? Please don’t buy.

Hello Sarah, thank you for your review. I’m so sorry there were bubbles in the container and on your walls. Our Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint is a long-lasting formula, and it isn’t normal for these small bubbles to appear. I recommend thoroughly cleaning the surface to remove any dirt or other contaminants, letting the surface dry, then recoating across the surface to help cover the small holes. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate all of your feedback. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team directly for further assistance with this. Our team is happy to help you! -Joni Behr

Hi Sarah, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the bubbles on your stucco. This is not normal, and I understand your disappointment. The paint is self-priming and designed for stucco, so it is hard to pinpoint exactly what caused the bubbles. I recommend scrapping or sanding the bubbles off, cleaning the surface, and touching up or recoating as needed. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly for further assistance; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Giovanna Behr

Paint color did not hold up
I painted my exterior stucco about 7 years ago and I began noticing the color change after about the first year. Fast forward to today and the color on my stucco looks completely different than it did when I first painted the house. I know color fades but I’ve never seen paint change as drastically as mine has. What started out as a tan color is now a grayish purplish color. It honestly looks like someone painted our house a different color.

      Hi RobbyGarcia,

Thank you for reviewing Behr Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint. I'm sorry to hear that the color changed so much after seven years, as that's not typical or what we want our customers to go through. It's possible that the color change is due to alkali burn, which can be neutralized by cleaning the surface with vinegar and water (1:1 ratio). Pre-wet surface and pump spray vinegar solution onto the surface. Let sit for about 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. Allow surface to dry for 24 hours before priming and recoating.

Customer satisfaction is very important to us and I encourage you to contact Behr directly for further assistance. We'd love to learn more about your project and find the best way to help.

      Kindest regards,

      Doris Behr

Paint applied and covered well. I repainted my cinderblock foundation. I used the matte white and it looks fabulous and bright! I am curious how it will hold up to weather/dirt overtime! Definitely recommend a good roller!

This product really is worth the money. I used it to finish lower part of my home. Cement, over stucco, bricks, even wood around my garage. This works on any surface.

        Behr cement/stucco Paint works well!
We apply this paint to the borders of our asphalt driveway. It pops with color and withstands the salt, snow and tire treads well! We re coat one time per year to keep the layers building! It will peel a bit and get marks from tired, but overall with a little yearly maintenance this product is good. If you were to apply and use as suggested I’m sure it would last a long time!

As for shipping, the paint showed up a couple days before the quoted day. I used a Wagner Flexio 590 to spray it on our stucco garage. The paint did not need to be thinned out, it went through the sprayer with no problem. The paint covered great (it went over white) along with a couple dark spots. The color matched what was shown online. Nothing shows through once it dried. I would definitely get this again.

Too chalky after 6 to 7 years....
I have used this product twice on my home.... about 7 years ago and then, 7 years before that. All of the surface for the off-white color is on stucco. The stucco is mostly over concrete block. The main problem seems to be that after a few years, the paint turns chalky (I do not have that problem with the red brick color paint over the wood painted portions). On this second time, the paint is not quite as chalky. With the hurricane situation here in Florida and the chalkiness of the finish, I think I need to paint, again. This is getting to be too much for a 72 year old!!! And, this will probably be the last time I can ever paint the whole home. This time, I need to find another and/or better BEHR or find another recommended brand, it takes almost 15 gallons. This paint did not meet my expectations.

            Hi TomFLORIDA,

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the chalkiness that appears every 7 years! If cleaning the surface doesn't remove the chalky finish (you can use a pressure washer on a low setting), we recommend priming your home with our Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer before applying a fresh coat of paint. For further assistance with your project, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We're happy to help! - Sara Behr

              Poor Product
I recently purchased 10 gallons of this paint to paint the exterior of my home. Only needed 5 gallons to do the job. However, the deep base paint was desirable to cover the masonry work that was done and do the brinks on my porch. It is a poor product. Paint harden to the touch on the exterior of the home after 2 coats. Contractor stopped to have it harden before doing the last touch up. He hasn't done the last touch up as of yet. However, the paint didn't do its job. The concrete shows through the paint and then started pealing off two days later. When that happened, I used the last of the 5 gallon paint for a test. I painted my bricks to see the results on the porch. As you can see from the picture after 2 coats. It didn't do a good job at all. It seems you have to paint it 4 or 6 times to get the results you want. For a 20 year guarantee, its a waste of time and money. My contractor is coming up soon to redo the work again but I will take the other 5 gallon back and see if we can get another paint that is better. Sadly, disappointed of this product and didn't meet the expectations at all.

Hi TV7874, thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear you didn't receive the expected coverage and for the peeling. Also, thank you for including photos; they were helpful to see the issue and the can used. From the photos, it looks like the paint is being used without any tint, which is required to add before using it; this is the reason why you're not getting coverage and for the peeling. However, to fix, we recommend sanding off any of the loose coating, cleaning the surface, and reapplying the paint with tint. To help with this, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly; we'd be more than happy to help. -Edith Behr

We just finished painting our brick fireplace and I. Love. It. We went with the flat sheen. Beautiful. Almost a chalky-soft finish. We used a paint sprayer and didn't have to thin the paint at all. We tinted it just the teensy-est bit because it was just a smidge on the yellow side for our liking. Our walls are a very stark white so you could really tell in our room. Our fireplace basically covers an entire wall. Probably 12 feet wide and 5 feet tall if I had to guess. We used 2 gallons. Overall, I highly recommend this paint. I would use it again.

Just painted the outside stairwell over the weekend using Behr Masonry, Stucco & Brick paint. This paint was the quality that I expect from Behr. Since the surface is very uneven with lots of irregularities in the concrete, even with a roller cover designed for rough surfaces, it took a long time to complete the job. That was by no means the paints fault. I did put two coats on to make sure that I had complete coverage and the 2nd coat went on much faster than the first. The picture shows the finished job and took about 1.75 gallons.

Behr's Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint is from my experience THE PRODUCT of CHOICE! There is a huge variety of colors to chose from (my color of choice is Navajo White). It has been 5 years since I had applied this stucco paint to my house and the color still looks great! I was repairing the cracks to my stucco house to prevent it from further weather conditions and during this process I began to use Behr's Stucco paint; it has done wonders to be both reliable and durable over the years. Absolutely, I recommend this product to anybody who does stucco work. In fact, my current project is building a stucco fence which is a 790 lineal feet. I am going to use Behr's Stucco Paint and of course I am one satisfied customer.

Awesome product! When you apply this brick paint, it looks like the paint is part of the brick. I've seen home improvement shows where they used interior house paint on a fireplace and it did not look good. It looked like layers of paint sitting on top of the brick. They should have used brick paint! I really like how the brick paint brightens up my fireplace and living room.
