Love the water based BEHR Poly .... especially in the Matte finish. Repaired and Rebuilt an exterior gardening bench that is under an open carport. Used treated, exterior grade lumber - but wanted extra protection since it gets rain and all the elements attacking it ... LOVE how easily the Poly went on and how quickly it dried to touch - I have several farm cats that were very concerned about the goings on with their bench! Applied 3 layers in one afternoon --- and then 2 more the next morning. And then the rains came! I was so thrilled to see the rain just beading up and running off!

Went on wood pretty well and didnt change the color of the wood.

Its OK, not as good as minwax.

Goes on milky white drys crystal clear. Levels out so there are no brush strokes.

They only offered it in a gallon for $70 although I needed less than a quart of this particular Behr water-based polyurethane.

Milky white urethane not the same compound, too thick leaves lines and does not smooth out. Used fine brush, foam no difference. Light coat or heavy. Very disappointed.

This is a self leveling paint and it does that fairly well. Not perfect. Not as good as oil based.The items I painted are not yet in use. I hope that after a cure period of 30 days that they will be washable and the coating will last.

Applies smoothly, dries quickly, and has little Oder. I would use this product again. Only thing I could say about it is that it stays a little clumpy when mixing. When you apply it there are no clumps and covers very well.

I bought this polyurethane in gloss to refinish my kitchen table. On the advice of the sales person used a brush instead of a roller. The results of the first coat were unsatisfactory. The product is advertised as "self-leveling" but the product dries too quickly to self-level, so applying it with the brush resulted in uneven application and brush marks; so I switched to the roller for all subsequent coats (8 in all). The result was a very smooth application which I was very happy with. Do not apply with a brush! Use a roller meant for smooth surfaces. You will be much happier with the results.

I used this product to seal all my cork fishing rod handles after cleaning them with magic erasers and alcohol. The product went on smoothly ,dried quickly ,and produced a beautiful finish. I applied three coats.

I love Behr products but, was very disappointed in this product. It left residue on the wood that looks white instead of clear.

Despite appropriate prep and application, this product cracks and chips up. I have used Varethane on other projects without issues. Because Home Depot stopped carrying Varethane, I gave Behr a shot. Big mistake. Trying to remediate now.

Home depot keeps disappointing me.

Make the wood too dark

Stained a fire door for our business offices, beautiful finish.

Used the matte clear over a matte black. It dries with a satin-like sheen. We're sure this is a good protective product, but it did not give us the desired result. Note, many clear-coat products have warnings about using clear over white or very light colors, as it may yellow over time. Test a small area first.

Used the matte version to protect a dark wood butcherblock desk. Three coats to every surface with a day between each, one pass of 400 grit sanding after every coat except the first one. Looks and feels amazing

Great product, and it actually dries within the 1 hour time limit. Spraying yields the best results. Only gave it 4 stars because sometimes there is dried clumps in the product that have to be strained out. Otherwise I would highly recommend. For reference I use about 1 gallon per month.
