I think I need a more effective primer. It just isn’t hiding all my sins the way I would like.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a year ago for a bedroom paint and ended up using it for my kitchen. It is such a shocking transformation from what it used to look like I say ‘wow’ everyday! I covered a wall over dark red and used the French sliver and ended up painting the hallway and the bedroom!! Fantastic coverage and was only one coat needed!! So happy 😀!!

Good paint, good coverage. Always been a big fan of Behr paint.

This primer & sealer went on nice and smooth. My dad spread it to a thinner coat than I did. Neither the thinner or thicker coats ever dried fully, staying tacky even after several days of open exposer to hot weather and warm winds. The boards stuck to everything they touched, including our fingers. The paint came off in spots where the boards were lying on the sawhorses. We recovered the bare spots which also remained tacky. We applied the top coat of semi-gloss enamel 2 days after the 2nd coat of primer had time to dry. I expected the top coat to dry well, but it stayed tacky too. The boards that leaned against each other while I was attaching them to the gate frame even stuck together and pulled little pieces off each other. After 2 days in open air, they're finally dry and not tacky. The primer did not wash cleanly off the brushes with soap and hot water or anything else. When the rainy season starts, I hope it stays on the wood as well it did on the brushes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the multisurface primer to go with the enamel alkyd paint I have. I have followed the instructions carefully and do not understand why it’s still tacky. I put fans in the room and made sure the humidity was not high. My Makita sander is all gunked up from sanding the primer after application to prepare for the top coat. I’m very disappointed in this product. It stuck to my hands horribly also. This was a costly purchase.

Bought this over a month ago and just opened it up to use it. Thought it was white, says high hide white on the pail....opened it up and it's gray

Good primer for the exterior

Excellent coverage and easy to apply, with minimal effort it was adequate

I purchased a small can as I am just starting a refinishing a table. It went on smoothly and cleaned up easily

I have been using this primer on all my projects for over three years. Overall, it is excellent at adhesion to wood and has been enduring New England weather with no peeling to date. However it is weak at hiding knots and has too much streaking for fine interior work. I would recommend this product for exterior priming where knots are not an issue.

The secret of long lasting paint is a good primer and I’ve had great results with Behr multi surface primer. Goes on easy, covers well and seems to create a great base for the top coat. We have rough summers and winters and it really tests the resilience of paints- this one seems to work well.

As the paint rating, poor, just brand name.

The paint/primer is still tacky after 2 weeks. It’s supposedly interior/exterior. I have another gallon I have not opened. Im returning it. Im a trained professional painter and I would not buy this product. If you put any object on it, it sticks to it. Last gallon ill buy of any paint this company makes.
