Kitchen cabinet redo
Loved Behr kitchen and cabinet paint and the polished marble color. It was a lot of work but I think the results are amazing.

Paint softens in high touch areas over time
I’ve had this paint on my cabinets for over 3 years. I applied correctly. The good thing about the paint is that it self-levels, it dries hard and the coverage is good. The bad news? It has become completely gummy in high touch areas, even with knobs. I’ve tried putting a new coat on top, but no such luck… I’ll have to strip the paint and use a different product. For the time and cost of this project, I’m very disappointed.

      Spray Nozzle 0311
Quality cabinet paint, and for those using a graco sprayer of sorts. Use a 0311, the 0313 put out too much material and caused dripped. the paint definitely leans towards the thin side.

Hi Sergio, thanks for the review. Sorry to hear that the paint shrunk and now you have to redo all the crown molding and door casings in the house. This is not typical, and I can understand your disappointment. I recommend scuff sanding and cleaning the surface before reapplying. Sprayed just fine
I usually use Sherwin-Williams emerald urethane trim enamel for odd jobs around the house, diy'er. Due to shortages that wasn't available so I took a chance on this cabinet and trim paint very pleased with the results, many negative comments that worried me but must have just been from inexperience, I could see how it may be tough to brush as it dries quick which is actually a benefit in spring second coat in 2 hours, sprayed with my Graco X5 from Home Depot with a fflp310 tip and it turned out just beautifully, probably wouldn't recommend for brushing large projects but for spraying it worked and it was just for a desk so the durability wasn't as important as kitchen cabinets

Stay Away If You Are Brushing
Stay away from this if you are brushing it on. I cut new casings and sills for my windows, used this with a new Purdy trim brush, and it leaves brush marks. The key should have been the can that says it dries fast, evidently so fast that the paint doesn't have a chance to level out. What a waste of time and money. I could go on but I won't.

Hi Anthony, thanks for the review. Sorry to hear that our Cabinet & Trim Enamel left brush marks on your new casings and window sills. This is not typical of our product. If the product is drying too fast, you can add up to 4 ounces of water per gallon to give more working time with the paint. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. I won’t use any other paint than this one
I really like this paint. It is thick and good coverage but at the same time it is easy to work with. I did two coverages and has not faded, chipped off or split. I painted my cabinets on 09/2020 so it has been a year and a half with no issues. I used two different paint colors and would use it again.

                Thick and good coverage paint
I painted my cabinets on 09/2020. Paint is still holding up. No fading, no chipped off parts, thick, good coverage and awesome color. Only paint I use for cabinet painting.

                        Bubbles
I applied as soon as being mixed at store and stirred at home as well. I knew it was off as soon as I opened it. It was inconsistent with bubbles all over the top. I tried to test a patch of the project. The bubbles stayed when applying and after drying.

                          Great at first
I painted my entire kitchen. I liked it so much I painted my kitchen chairs, some trim and doors. Now over a year later, the high touch areas have become so tacky it holds dirt and easily scratches off. The lower cabinets have stains that won’t come out.

Hello Kms8434, thank you for your review. I’m so sorry the paint is holding dirt and stains and is easily scratching off. I recommend removing any peeling paint, cleaning the surface with soapy water and a scrub brush to clean off dirt and stains, then rinsing and letting the surface dry. If some dirt or stains are still visible, I suggest touching up those areas to get the finish looking beautiful again. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Can't get rid of micro bubbles
I tried urethane alkyd satin enamel before and I got millions of micro bubbles. So I tried this paint. I noticed the bubbles again as soon as I rolled onto the cabinets. I used different rollers. It was the same. You could see the bubbles in the can, too. 2 cans I got are the same. Also, it doesn't adhere well. I cleaned, deglossed and put 2 coats of BIN shellac primer. It kinda looked like oil on water. I had to put 3 coats to get good coverage, but I see roller streaks... I didn't roll hard or fast. I'm very disappointed and I'm afraid of spraying it onto the doors and the drawers. I don't know what to do at this point.

Hello Alikona, thank you for your review. I’m so sorry there were micro-bubbles and streaks on your cabinets and bubbles in the can, too. I recommend allowing the paint to dry at least 24 hours or more, sanding smooth any bubbles and texture the paint may have left, thoroughly cleaning the surface and letting it fully dry, then touching up and recoating with paint. Also, I recommend slowly stirring the paint in the can for 5 minutes to try breaking up the bubbles. If the stirring doesn’t help, then it’s best to use a new can to touch up and recoat. Great smooth Cabinet paint! Exceeded my expectations by a mile
My personal experience painting my own cabinets with this Behr Premium paint was exceptional and much better than I expected. I was so stressed before that I would make a mess out of my cabinets, but WOW they turned out more awesome than I ever expected. I used the white, un-tinted base and the white really reflects light in the room. The wife loves it. This paint is so smooth and dries to a very hard finish. Really quick-drying paint, a lot faster drying than the primer that I used. I would recommend this paint to anyone wishing to do a makeover DIY style. Awesome product and it is premium, but just make sure you wipe down the surface to prevent dust issues causing imperfections.

Very disappointed. Doesn’t resist staining from constant cabinet use.
I painted our kitchen cabinets using this paint in a beautiful mint color. I cleaned, sanded, and primed as instructed (I have painted several cabinets before so I know how to prep the surface), and I even covered the cabinet doors under my sink loosely with a plastic sheet for a month to make sure the paint had plenty of time to cure before I exposed it to the normal wear and tear of kitchen sink cabinet usage. Didn’t matter. Within a month, stains from normal sink usage would not come out of the paint, even though I would wipe down after washing dishes. Drawers that are used often have finger stains that won’t come out. Maybe this is decent paint if you choose a darker color, but after being told at the store that this paint is the best thing for kitchen cabinets and paying the higher price tag, I am utterly disappointed.

Hi Dragonmermaid - Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the paint is staining easily! Once fully cured, this coating should dry to a dirt and grime resistant finish that can be easily wiped down to maintain a clean finish. To fix the finish, I recommend lightly sanding the areas that are stained, wiping them down to remove the sanding dust, then touching up with more paint. Please feel free to reach out to us directly so we can assist you with this further. We look forward to hearing from you. - Sara Behr

                                    Very Good
My first project using this paint was to paint a small table. I used a Wagner Flexio 4000 Stationary HVLP Paint Sprayer. The instructions of this paint say, "Do Not Thin". I tried the larger Wagner iSpray Nozzle, but that did not work for this small of a project. With unthinned paint, the nozzle would plug up and reduce the volume of paint spray and it had a tendency to "spatter". I got the same results using both the iSpray Nozzle and the Detail Finish Nozzle. I then thinned the paint and used the Detail Finish Nozzle. Thinning the paint with water produced a "fog spray" that covered very well and produced a great finish. The project goal was to change the color of the table from black to white. I did use the #75 Kitchen, Bath, and Trim primer first. After allowing the primer to dry, I prepared the surface for the topcoat with 320 grit sandpaper and a tack rag. I did apply two topcoats with a surface prep of 320 grit sandpaper with a tack rag between coats. After applying the 2nd coat of Cabinet and Trim Enamel, the finished result was almost perfect, like a "factory finish".

                                      Disappointment
I was repainting old oak kitchen cabinets that I had previously painted with a roller with latex enamel tinted to a dark espresso brown that did not dry as hard as I expected so I put on a coat of water based clear polycrylic with a foam brush that helped. To prepare for repainting, I used a palm sander with 240 grit and then 400 grit to take the shine off but not down to bare wood. I did not prime. I put a coat of this paint on with a low nap roller. I noticed air bubbles and orange peel and tried to roll over but paint was already getting sticky so I stopped while it was wet and covered. Did it outdoors in 60 degree dry weather in the shade and they were hard and dry in less than 1 hour. I lightly hand sanded and recoated. The end result showed dried air bubbles and orange peel. This paint was hard to work with, did not level much and gave disappointing results. I would not use on expensive kitchen cabinets.
