My husband and I purchased the Behr elastomeric paint to repaint the exterior of our house. We were very pleased with the ease of rolling it on the walls and how well it filled the minor cracks in our stucco. Clean up was even easier than any other paint we have used in the past. We would highly recommend Behrs elastomeric paint to everyone.

I actually bought 8 gallons because it said it works best with 2 coats. The paint is very thick it covered all the little cracks and looks awesome, probably could have done one coat but looks like I won't have to paint again for a good long while and it looks great.

Went on very easily, even with a paint sprayer. We covered cinnamon with Sharkskin on one coat and finished our 3300 sweet ft home in one weekend, 6 friends and great memories.

Behr elastomeric paint is great stuff.
i bought this paint but i read most of the reviews before and i have to say, i had mixed feelings about the paint. i also wanted to spray it with my Graco magnum prox 17 but the pain label says to use a paint tip between 21 to 25 i believe. well i bought two 5gals buckets to paint the exterior stucco of a rental house we have in banning ca. the label also said to paint between the the temps of 50 to 90 and it was a cold day in banning at about 52 as its high and went on thick and smooth as it should. this is a 78 yr old house and its stucco was at the point of having to redo it but we decided to try this paint and we are happy. i sprayed it with my graco prox17 spray gun and as you may know this gun can only go to a 17 max tip and it did a 1100 sqft house at max pressure. i caked it on where there was cracks in the stucco and it really did seal those well. i put a 517 tip on my gun and it did leave light signs of fingers but i just went over them on the second pass. i also bought a darker color to paint the chimney.

      goes on good
Porch steps needed paint. Few hairline cracks, larger cracks were filled with a silicone extreme flex caulk by DAP. Some imperfections of the stucco such as holes, dips, chunky. This paint is thick so it was less messy than indoor paint. If you have drips let it dry then peel off. Pictures are worth more than my words. Used 3/4” roller 1” would have been better for the imperfections but used an angled synthetic purdy brush to cut-in and dab. Will see how many years this will holdup.

I used this product to paint the foundation of my house. The product went on well and was easy to use. I ordered the "crater gray", which it did not look like the color shown online at all. I felt it still went ok with my siding so I stuck with it. I will upload a picture of what was supposed to be crater gray. I feel it has a purplish look.

After much research and looking into different types of paints we decided to go with Behr elastomeric paint. My tests included other major brands as well as non elastomeric paint. I purchased gallon sizes and tested it on our stucco finish in Florida and Behr came out to be the best choice. In my tests, I used an airless sprayer with a 521 tip, applied two coats or as recommended by the manufacture. Behr went on thick but smooth, and didn’t drip. After our decision to go with Behr, I used DAP Extreme Stretch Caulk for larger cracks and worked into the cracks and used a brush to texture the finish. For my Airless Sprayer I removed the filters in the spray gun and intake hose and strained the paint before use. I used about 2500psi to spray and had great results. Using an airless sprayer on the rough stucco design is the only way to go as it gets into all the peaks and valleys. I sprayed two coats to get the .mil thickness recommend and it’s great. Remember prep is the key and airless sprayer is the way to apply. I also kept a roller handy but didn’t need to back roll it, great stuff, I will update after a few seasons to see how it holds up in the Florida weather.

            Response from BehrJan 16, 2018
            Hi Galindo,

Thank you for reviewing our paint. I'm sorry to hear that you can still see the Greenboard through 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. This product is a very thick coating (1 gallon will cover 75-125 sq. ft.) and is best applied with a high quality 1 1/4" nap roller to achieve the correct film thickness. So we can help get your project back on track, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Behr

I used this product on the North side of my all brick home built in 1900 in which the previous paint was badly pealing. The coverage was excellent and I love the overall sheen of the paint. I used a quality 3/4" nap Purdy roller and it did a wonderful job in covering existing cracks as well. The product was just painted on this past Labor Day weekend and I am curious as to how it performs. As of now it has more that exceeded my expectations and it is a quality buy for the end product you receive.

I purchased (4) 5 gallon tubs Sept 2016 and had my home painted July 2017. I am loving the paint and the color so far. I live in North Florida and I wanted a color that matches my Mediterranean style home. The painter is in the picture and did an excellent job and likes using this paint as well.

Paint went on great over the recommended tinted Behr primer. Used 3/4 nap roller on the few dry days we've had. We had it tinted the closest color we could to our new garage door and we are so, so happy with the results! I highly recommend.

This is great paint. It is thick but is still OK to spray with your basic Graco airless sprayer. Just use a properly sized tip and you can do a decent job of spraying without a lot of waste. Be sure to roll over the area right after spraying in order to fill in all the little voids. Also, pull your masking tape off while the paint is still wet. This paint is so thick it will bind the tape to the house. If you do make a mistake and let the paint dry you're probably best off using a razor to cut along the tape edge, otherwise it you might peel paint with tape. I used this on another house and never had the grey mildew stains that some of my neighbors houses show, even after 8 years.

              Better than regular house paint
The spread rate was better than the specifications prescribed in spite of the fact that I applied the paint quite liberally. With the two prescribed coats the fireplace/chimney looks really great even at an age of 62 years.

Silverado Spur is the perfect color for foundation of house with white siding
After two other failed color choices, Silverado Spur ended up being perfect. Even though they don't sell this paint in the store they do have the paint swatches and I would recommend getting the swatches before buying this paint. I wasted a lot of money on the other colors. Silverado Spur was a very close match to the natural color of my foundation and the quality of the paint is very good. I am very happy with how it turned out. I primed 1st with Behr Concrete and Masonry Primer. Pictures attached are Silverado Spur vs. Cobblestone Gray and then all Silverado Spur.

Silver Gray Pebble is too light for foundation on house with white siding
The quality of this paint is very good, but the color Silver Gray Pebble is a very very light gray, almost white.

Cobblestone Grey has a blue tint, did not go well with my white siding.
This paint has been great for painting my foundation. It is thick and goes on very easily and looks good. I started out with Silver Gray Pebble and it was way too light for my white siding. Next I tried Cobblestone Gray because I liked the pictures that I had seen on the reviews here, but it looked blue. Next I bought Silverado Spur which is more tan/gray than blue/gray and it is PERFECT. Silverado Spur ended up being very close to the natural color of my foundation, but gives it a fresh clean look. I am very happy with how it turned out. I wasted a lot of money on the other two colors, but now that I've found the perfect color I am very happy. The pictures I have included are: lightest color is Silver Gray Pebble, then blue/gray is Cobblestone Gray, then half Cobblestone Gray half Silverado Spur and then last is Silverado Spur. Notice the difference between painted front and unpainted side.

Turning a ugly wall into a 'wall of beauty'...
No problem of paint flowing thru spray gun, and the coverage was great, one coat did the job.

                Elastomeric Paint for Masonry
Paint looks very good, has a nice sheen. We'll see how it looks a year from now. It goes on as easy or easier than any other paint. Clean-up is easy - soap and water.

                Waterproof
This is an interesting paint with far more value than just painting stucco and brick, for I have found it to be a very good moisture barrier for tiling in high moisture areas. From the pics I have uploaded you can see where I use it to first seal the area that I am going to tile (in this case I used a gallon that I had tinted brown to use on some stucco) and then how it looks once it is done. Great stuff!

BEHR Premium #MS-82 Cobblestone Grey Elastomeric Masonry, Stucco and Brick Paint
We had several areas of a 74 year old house's outside concrete foundation repaired. I used the BEHR Premium Elastomeric Paint (Cobblestone Grey) to first cover the repaired areas, and after they dried, to completely cover all the foundation, total area just under 300 sq. ft. It took less than 2 gallons with brush & long nap roller, went on fairly easy, and covered stains & small cracks well. So it was 2 coats on the repairs, 1 coat over all, since the foundation had previously been painted. We'll see how it looks after the winter!

Save your stucco home without the "total ripoff"!
Elastomer's are nature's gift for stucco homeowners. They can be stretched to many times their original length, and can bounce back into their original shape without permanent deformation. Thus they seal hair line cracks and keep water from absorbing through your stucco. Of course, you must first have any damage repaired, leaks corrected, and proper flashings and sealants applied before applying this elastomeric coating. Use 2 coats, by hand with a heavy nap roller 1 1/4" and apply on separate days for maximum thickness. The cost to remove and replace all stucco from a home is often well over $200,000 whereas the cost to repair and seal it could be in the $10K to $40k range depending on the amount of damage that has occured.
