prep whatsoever so ever. I painted the lower half of a 30 year old ball and claw oak table. Sanded areas the next day to give it the look I wanted. Perfect. Will absolutely buy again.

Chalk Paint by Behr is the best!
I love that I can paint just about any piece of furniture and make it new, at an amazing price point. Most of my furniture is found/free. I apply three coats, and then three coats of Helmsman Spar Urethane and the furniture is brand new again. Pictured is Jojoba. I honestly think the other negative reviews are white base and people didn’t get them tinted properly. You have to ask the paint people to mix the color you choose or maybe the paint dept. people didn’t mix it properly. Just my $.02

Farmhouse white was not the color shown
The farmhouse white was basically just plain white. It looked nothing like the picture shown so now I just have a plain white end table which doesn’t match my theme.

Easy to work with. Painted 2 pieces of bedroom furniture...
Easy to work with. Painted 2 pieces of bedroom furniture and still have 1/2 can left. Used Valspar antiquing wax over it to make it a little darker and give it some depth.

I am a complete convert!
I have bought chalk paint from all of the big manufacturers, as well as made my own. But at this price point, and with the ability to do any color I want, this is the BEST. The quality seems to be fantastic and easy to work with. And I love how my first project turned out. I will be buying all the colors :-).

Love the color surf
This color is gorgeous. It’s a very happy color and intense too. In my first project pictured I did a bathroom tower. It totally made my bathroom a more happy place I love it. I did 2 coats. 3 coats would of made the color richer but I thought it would be too much for me , I suffer from depression.
The tv stand came out beautiful. And it was black glass!! The paint stuck to it with no problem and dried fast!! I did 2 coats. Took me almost 1 quart to do both projects. The paint is perfection.

Almost Trash
I had an old vanity that I was originally going to throw in the trash. I decided to give this chalk paint a try and I am so glad I did! It came out beautifully! The paint was so easy to use, and clean up was a breeze!

Best Chalk paint I have used. I used it on my cabinets. Easy application, easy clean up and after applying the wax it is durable.
I recently purchased a chalk paint from another company and I prefer Behr over the other. It spreads very nice easy clean up and the color was perfect. I was nervous about ordering a color on line I am so happy it was perfect.

Ivory Palace shade
Gave 2 stars, because the shade Ivory palace is as white as you can only imagine. Not the shade that it shows in the picture. Like the quality of the paint. But really puzzled how to pick the creamy shade as the pictures are not accurate.

Subtle brown beautiful eggshell
Its a beautiful shade to mix match. My left wall has color code - “Armadillo” and front wall with door is “dry brown” shade. Combination was perfect. Eggshell finish sealed the deal.

Lovely paint
This paint is amazing! I chose the Creme De Mint color. I had two mirrored pieces that I was tired of looking at. I went to my local Home Depot ready to have to get primer etc. and the very nice salesperson was like no you don’t need a primer. I took the product home in disbelief and the results are astonishing. I only did 2 coats, took me about 3 hours total and I’m in love. I cannot believe the paint stuck to these mirrored pieces but it did. Lovely color, dries FAST, easy to use

Behr Chalk paint
The behr premium chalk paint is very good. I liked the adhesion of the paint with minimal sanding. Also the versatility of having the color mixed to your preference.the price point is much cheaper than most other chalk paints

Goes On So Fast and Easy -Love It
This is the second time I've used a chalk paint for furniture, and the first time I used Behr brand. I love this paint for many reasons. 1. I wanted a hint of grey color which was not available in the premixed selection, so I chose the Behr color" Halation" and was able to have it mixed for me. Just what I wanted. 2. I tried a brush, foam applicator, and a 4" foam roller and chose the roller. I was amazed at how fast and easy the paint went on, and loved the slight texture that the roller left behind. The finish left no lines or stroke marks like with a brush. 3. Easy to seal. I used a water based polyurethane instead of wax because I wanted a longer lasting and more durable finish. 3. Goes on so easily, I was able to paint 2 bureaus with 2 coats in one day. I left the top dark wood and painted the rest of the bureaus. 4. Very good coverage and Fast dry time. I did thoroughly wash and lightly sand the finish before painting so the adhesion was very good. I did not sand between coats because I liked the slight textured look and feel. If you want a very smooth surface I recommend sanding between coats. This is not a one coat paint. I used 2 coats and it covered very well over dark wood. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to update a piece of furniture. It really is so easy to use and had great coverage.

Used this with a foam roller, used 2 coats and one coat of polyurethane varnish water based to protect it. The piece was restored and looks beautiful. Color is Dragonfly.

Nice for furniture!!
I bought this to paint dining set chairs and table base. I thinned with water and used an hvlp pneumatic paint sprayer. First I cleaned, scuff sanded, and primed with Zinsser 1-2-3 spray primer. ( this I wouldve bought in a quart and sprayed too but silly me I thought spray cans would be better..took 1 1/2 times what I thought it would take...)
Then I sprayed the paint. Goes on nice through a sprayer but also unthinned with a brush, (i liked a sponge brush) for a turned table leg. Still in progress but so far I love it!

Most disappointing color mix
Color is AWFUL - nothing vintage or mustard-y about it. Quality might be okay - but because the bright neon yellow is so glaring, I couldn't say.
It was so bad, I took it back to my local HD and showed them the photo, asking if they could check the mix and add pigment to please help. The service technician in the paint department put a sample on a wooden stick, dried it, then looked at it under the orange HD lights and said "It looks like mustard to me." USELESS. Very disappointed.

Decent chalk paint
I’ve used chalk paint before but never white. If you aren’t going to really distress your furniture piece, just know white will show every little flaw in the wood. I redid an old dresser and every little flaw was very obvious. Once distressed it looked good. I did the majority of the dresser using a paintbrush and then did the final drawer using a roller. The roller took way more coats of paint and it turned out darker looking in comparison to the paintbrush method. Still a good paint just make sure you use the same method when painting

Very disappointed
First coat went on with no problems whatsoever but since this paint does not cover in one coat I had to do another. This is where it got ugly. The paint would not go on! It sat on top and wouldn’t move, leaving me with chunky, noticeable areas! I stopped before it got worse and walked away before I lost my temper. I only pray I can fix this.

Hi Lace, thanks for the review. Sorry to hear that you had a problem with the second coat of the chalk paint. You want to wait at least 2 hours before applying the second coat. I'd recommend lightly sanding and areas that had a texture and then applying another coat of paint, If needed, you can add up to 2 ounces of water per quart to thin the paint out and to give more working time. Great paint!
Love this paint! Have painted several pieces of furniture with it and love the results. Goes on smooth and has a nice chalky feel after it dries completely. Be sure to let it dry well in between coats. Try it, you’ll love it!

Giving furniture quality
I use behr chalk for 90% of all my furniture. Use the wax right after and I love exposing the top wood of my furniture piece leaving authenticity on it. Then add polyurethane satin to seal. I love my furniture to look classy and Behr does it for me. And I'm not limited with colors.

Quality
I have been using behr chalk paint for 3 years, it's excellent for painting furniture, vintage style, farm, ect. Right after using my chalk paint. I finishing it with behr wax.
I deeply recommend ppl that refurbish furniture to try it.
