Paint is very watery, thin, with very poor coverage, streaky. It is more like white wash than paint. We could not believe how highly this paint is rated and how expensive it is. We are painting a very small bedroom room, and have used 2 gallons and may need a 3rd.

For the price the coverage from this paint was terrible! I followed the instructions on the paint can, painted under ideal weather conditions, prepped the surface before painting, and after 2 coats of paint all the paint lines were still visible. This paint reminded me of watered down white wash. I will never use Behr paint again, exterior or interior.

  • Stick with Behr Marquee
  • January 15, 2018

We bought 5-gal of “cotton sheets” in eggshell finish. This paint is VERY susceptible to runs and drips. It took two coats to cover a very small change in color. Stick to the Behr Marquee (top of their line). It covered in one coat and we experienced very few sags or drips with the higher grade paint.

This stuff is expensive junk. You pay extra and it doesn't cover. That way they sell you more expensive junk. I would not recommend it for any paint job. It took 3 coats to cover 20 shutters. Won't ever buy Behr again, will buy something that is actually real paint!!!! I thought by buying the expensive paint it would cover better. WRONG!!!!!!!

  • White isnt the best

  • Verified Purchase & Recommended Product

I have used Marquee exterior in other colors and been VERY happy with it. The White however is far from a one coat paint. I am painting over existing white and it will take two coats for sure. Price and application is great but not a one coat paint. The grays and greens have been great

Pros Dries Quickly, Easy to Apply

  • Terrible stuff.
  • June 22, 2019

So, I’ve been painting houses about 20 years and always prefer other manufacturers over Behr, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin williams, Dunn Edwards, you name it. I’ve used many of not all of the Behr paints in the course of my career and know to avoid it at all costs. The normal Behr premium plus is a more solid product than the marquee, But, of course I took this job, and the customer already over payed for this yellow, semi gloss marquee for their walls, and wanted to use that, so I regretfully agree to this nonsense. And yes, the horror story’s you read about are true. The paint is smelly, dries at a strange rate, and runs, streaks horrible!, Roller marks! is sticky, so it slides your roller cover off the handle and makes a mess, Is drippy, clumpy, and gluey. Compared to most premium or professional contractor grade paints. I’ll never use it again. I’ll refuse in the future. The customer didn’t complain because they had done some painting previous to hiring me, and there work was an absolutely hideous, stippled disaster so, me being a professional, it looked a bunch better to them and they accepted it but it looked like garbage on the wall to me. And Frankly, I’m embarrassed of it.

This does NOT cover in one coat. It takes at least two. The next step down Behr paint is much better and at least then you're expecting to need two coats. I bought a quart, which should have completed my project. Needed to buy a second quart to finish. It would have been better to buy a gallon of the cheaper stuff. Don't buy into the hype. Not worth the money!!

Good paint, easy to clean after dusty storms. Semi-gloss pure-white paint gives exterior trimmings a unique glossy finish, which is easy to clean after dusty days. The exterior trimmings returns to their fresh-look paint after hose wash.
