Primer didn't hold the paint
I was going to use another brand binding primer when the paint employee said I had to use this. I followed the directions. Then topped it with paint. When pulling up the painters tape the paint just pulled right up. I’m so upset as I worked very hard on this floor and I do not believe it will last a month. I believe I’ve wasted all the time, energy, and money trusting this product.

Hi there, thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that the paint is peeling up after using the Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer. When possible, it's best to remove the tape before the paint completely dries, and it should be removed at an angle. Another tip is to use a razor blade and score the line between the paint and tape to ensure a clean line. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Ronald Behr

Dont use with water based top coats.
This is a latex based primer. Your associate recommended it for use with Rocksolid by Rustoleum. The effect was bubbles and a dried splotchy pattern. Causing me hundreds of dollars in wasted product and more importantly my time.

Hi John, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the bubbles and splotchy appearance. Our Concrete Bonding Primer can be used with any water-based paint, so I'd recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of your topcoat for advice to eliminate the uneven finish of their coating. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team directly for further assistance. They are always happy to help. Enjoy the rest of your day. -Christina Behr

    Goes a long way..
Goes on like water. Milky colored when wet, clear when dry. Great bonding primer for goid topcoat adhesion. Used an etching solution first.

Good product when used as directed.
It would be helpful if Behr posted the reason for failures. I found it could be applied to foundation walls using cheap sponge brushes and dabbing it in place. I had problems with bubbles using a standard roller (had to brush flat) but the Behr Microlon covers applied it smoothly. A gallon covered 450 sqft of garage floor (properly cleaned, etched, and dried for 4 days) plus the step, plus about 60 feet of 8" high foundation wall. My storage carts caused some minor paint chipping, touched up.

        Did the job well.
did a good job. I made sure to clean the floor first, then apply a primer for concrete just to be on the safe side, then apply the paint. I added also a gloss sealer with anti-skid in it. The floor was a mess to start with, so while the end results is not 100% perfection, it was a tremendous improvement in the garage.

I applied this primer under #PFC-68 (BEHR concrete floor paint) per recommendation of the manufacturer, but after 3 weeks when I parked my car in the garage the epoxy paint peeled off Both paint and primer are very disappointing

Hello, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the coating and primer peeled so soon. This is not typical, and I understand your disappointment. It sounds like the concrete will need more etching. I recommend removing the loose coating, cleaning and etching until the concrete feels like 150-grit sandpaper, spot etching and touching up. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance, our customer care team is happy to help you! -Giovanna Behr

I spoke about this product in my review of the Behr Concrete Paint. The product may not have been required, but it was cheap and easy to apply, so a no brainer. I put it down as heavy as you can expect for a product that's about as thin a water. I had to be careful because it splashed a bit coming out, but no harm. It's the primer and not the paint, so I didn't care. I got a good coat down and gave it an overnight to dry. I'm in Colorado, so dry time is shorter than in states with appreciable levels of humidity. I can't speak on how well it did in terms of helping prep the floor for the epoxy because I haven't put any harsh traffic on it yet. So far, everything looks perfect. I used a lower/mid grade brush and roller to apply; I didn't feel the need to go for the upper end stuff since this is the primer. (Side note, I used the same quality with the epoxy and it looks perfect too!)

The product is liquid, it dries fast and even. Because the product is liquid it will drop until dry. The drying process suggested a couple of hours although our space dried faster we waited the required time. We used the product on our fire place.

This product worked great. It was easy to apply. It is tacky even when dry, which I think helps the paint stick to the concrete surface.

easy to apply and works great
This bonding primer was rolled onto an old concrete porch floor and sidewalk around my house, very easy to apply, goes on clear. Followed up with Behr concrete paint, it is adhering very well, subjected to heavy foot traffic and exposed to the sun and still no wear.

Primer works great on my driveway. Hand painted the tree of life over it in their concrete paint in black.

This product was so easy to apply.
After removing a buildup of linoleum and tile from my patio, to find that we also had to scrape off glue in order to have a clean surface to apply Behrs primer and paint. I was amazed to find how easily it was to apply, how fast drying it was and how beautiful the end result was.

This product did not prime well. Ended up using too much epoxy paint. I should have used a different primer sealer.

              Something went drastically wrong...
I bought 1 can of Behr Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer. I hired a contractor for $650 to apply it to my garage floor. The contractor said it was a dark blue color and he supposed since the can said clear, that it must dry clear. It actually looked nice, not clear, but it dried a darker gray than the concrete's natural color. I actually loved it. So I went back on 2 occasions and got a total of 7 more cans to do my entire driveway. I hired another contractor who charged me $375 to do my entire driveway. I used the remaining can from the garage to start with and of course that part of the driveway matched the garage floor. That contractor then started using the remaining 7 cans (the contents was white not blue), so when I got home to look at the work to find my driveway was 2 different colors once it dried. The 2nd contractor also thought when it dried it would match. I need to know why the contents of the cans are not matching. I have attached photos, I have receipts from Home Depot for the Primer, and receipts from p\the contractor payments.

Easy to apply. Excellent coverage at a very affordable price. You must do proper prep work. Applied to 100 year old concrete basement floor. Applied 3 Coates of Behr Porch and Patio Floor Paint for top coat. Results were excellent!!
