Personally I prefer toaster ovens due to lack of counter space so having options for cooking something for 1 person or reheating something is what I look for specifically. This oven fit my budget and has just the right amount of options for a 1 or 2 person household with my kids grown and on their own. So far it has lived up to my expectations which are rather high with it being a well known brand name. I really appreciate the toast function that let's you can control how dark you like things toasted. I only gave 4 star because the "cooking plate" is smaller than I expected making it so when I was using it to reheat a piece of pizza I could only reheat 1 piece.

We had an issue with how much space we had for a toaster oven which is how we ended up with Black & Decker’s smallest model. The brand is well rated and I have found it to be very useful. Toast comes out fine, I roasted asparagus which came out just right, and the fish I baked came out much juicier than when I made it at the same temperature in the oven (275). The roast function takes a bit more time than the oven. But all said I am pleased with my very inexpensive toaster oven.

I am a bit disappointment with the item quality. When using the grill feature, it produces a lot of smoke & after being used a few times, the exterior upper portion is already burned up

Once upon a time, far, far away, Black and Decker was manufactured in the USA. Now, you all know where this crap is made. Now, STEER CLEAR of Black and Decker. Their toaster ovens don't toast. If you don't watch things and turn it down before the time runs out, you'll burn down the house. When I find just another simple toaster oven that WORKS properly, I'll toss this one.

The toaster works fine, its just that i was expecting better control options. Meaning i cant just shoot it down, i got to wait till finish with counting.

Good, warms up or toasts any size bread nicely, prefer this type of machine to a crumbly ‘stand up’ toaster.

Works good for $30 bucks…..we’ll see how long it lasts!

This product only toasts on one side, and matter what the selection it comes out burnt. Also directions not clear, know must be turned fully and then to selection mode. I tried this product but returned it for these reasons

Sorry I bought this item. Uneven toast ALL THE TIME! BLACK & DECKER should stick to tool making ONLY!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first one started on fire the first time I used it so I took it back and got another one so far so good.

....unless you keep a watch, and change the setting off of toast when the bread gets as dark as you want. There is no light toast setting. Forget it. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby otherwise. Make them in the USA again, maybe they'll work properly.

This Black-Decker toaster over is considered a compact unit, and they were not kidding. The oven itself is on the small size, a slice of pizza barely fits in to be heated up. So nothing like a big rump roast or a whole turkey. This little oven does serve its purpose for warming, heating up and baking. I have not actually cooked anything in it.

Bought this to replace a previous Black & Decker toaster oven I owned for over ten years and was very satisfied with. This one: 1) The outside surfaces get WAY TOO hot. A much thinner metal than my previous one. Anyone, child or not, will get burned if you touch the surface. 2) Again compared to my previous - besides someone trying to cut costs by using cheaper metal, the chord is short as well. Just a few inches, but enough to prevent me from putting it in the exact same spot where the previous one was. Unfortunately, these issues were caused by B&D focusing too much on cutting costs without taking into consideration consumer impact. Just say no.

It is not clear how to use it effectively as an oven.

It is a reasonably priced toaster oven and exactly what I expected

The Black & Decker Toaster Oven that I replaced was much safer to use. This toaster oven does not shut off automatically when you open the door, so it can easily be accidentally left on. The heat control knob isn't clearly marked for OFF, either; however, it does 'ding' when knob is turned to off. The size is the same as our old one and is perfect for our space.
