It is getting harder to find a CORDED variable speed reversible drill with a CLUTCH. But even more rare than that is that it can also be converted into a CORDED impact driver. You need to buy the Black and Decker BDCMTI Matrix Impact Driver Attachment (sold separately). It is fantastic. I have added a picture that shows the base unit with the impact attachment connected. Notice the wear on the unit. Its my first Matrix I bought back in May of 2016! Still works great. I just bought a new one because I was worried the battery operated craze was going to phase it out.New Matrix works great and takes the impact driver accouterments from 2016 like a glove. I have only seen one other CORDED impact driver but I decided not to pay $190.00 for it. Instead I saved well over $100.00 and got two hard to find tool configurations. Also wanted to mention that there are other attachments but I haven't tried them.

The overall idea is nice. But, it will not work for me. I did not think about the limitations that the attachments can be used. As a drill, by itself, it works great

I had the battery version and got tired of charging the battery.

This drill doesn't stop immediately after you release the button. This means that when you're screwing something like deck boards and you release the button, it keeps going for another half turn or so which will drive your screws way past than intended. I wish I didn't buy this as well as the attachments. I bought this as a back up when my cordless batteries die and are charging. I can't imagine using this to fasten screws. I might use it to drill holes but definitely not for screws.

I use this a few times a month, sometimes really hard, but not every day like a contractor would. after about 10 or 11 months, it starts to smell like melting plastic guts. still working after 12 months but my customers laugh at me because the smell is awful

I chose this drill for the variable speed settings for driving screws and for drilling without a needing a battery. Battery tools are no bargain since the tool lasts longer than the batteries and batteries cost more than the tool. This replaced a defunct 35 year old Skill drill. It is lighter and just as powerful with way more features. This drill handles construction work just fine.

I absolutely love this little drill and all the extensions that I can put on it. however, it doesn't last very long.... very limited lifespan. I bought my third one a couple of months ago and it's already starting to smoke.

Nice drill. Not professional builder quality, but nice. What makes it really nice is it can share the matrix attachments. I'm on my second battery powered matrix drill, and this is a nice compliment to take up part of the load. There's a lot of times that being corded or not isn't an issue

Was working just fine for 4 minutes. The trigger is stuck in the on position and only shuts off when i unplug it from the outlet. I have already repurchased a new one. Just need to return defective one. Then i will know more

Good drill, easy use

Used this for two projects and the motor already burned out. This is a good product if you need to hang a few pictures or drill some holes in stuff but not if you have an real projects to work on that needs a strong device.

Very lightweight, solid performer. I like that it has interchangeable heads to be more versatile.

I’m really basic at this construction stuff but this drill did everything I needed to and was really easy to use.

I like the idea of not having to worry about dead batteries. Great quality especially for the price!
