We are having so much fun with our Aquagarden. This was our first adventure in hydroponics and growing micogreens. It was so simple to set up! We just harvested our first crop and can’t wait to grow something different

This is the best idea ever. My niece has been wanting a fish but her mom didn’t want to clean the tank. I learned about aqua Panik’s in high school and was going to try to create something like that, when I came across this. It is perfect because it allows you to see the fish enjoy having a pet while still covering the roots from the plant to not create algae and grow a herb garden. My niece is learning about recycling and saving the planet and I thought this would be a really cool thing to learn and doing the process. Love it highly recommend

The kit was amazing super fun and easy. Looking forward to ordering some more seed soon to keep the garden growing. I also can’t wait to nominate my daughters school so they too just like her can enjoy this wonderful creation!!!!! Thank you.

First beta fish died after it got stuck and injured on pump, 2nd beta fish had to clean the tank every two days to keep clean. Got a new normal fish tank and haven't had a problem with keeping clean. Plants did grow on top and seemed happy

I love our water garden! My children love to watch the plants grow and the fish swimming in the bottom!! It truly is wonderful!

Bought this for my 4th grade class and the students are IN LOVE, as well as I am. The kit came with everything I need and a well written guide for me to create a garden on top of a fish tank. 11/10 recommend!

My herbs that I am growing have sprouted but they only get so tall and skinny and then flop over! Not sure if this is going to work or not.

The kit was easy to setup and all 3 of my kids love it! We have already grown wheat grass, radish sprouts, and are on to cat grass and cat nip for our feline. She loves watching the Betta we named Fred and snacking. Definitely recommend.

I bought this for my daughter and her Beta fish. My daughter quickly put it together and started the seeds. Within a few days the seeds were growing and we can't wait to see the end result. This is a fun, useful and educational project for our family.

This kit is fantastic and easy for hydroponics (gardening without soil), but hugely inadequate for aquaponics (growing fish and plants together). Had I left this review in the week following purchase it would have been a glowing, 5 star review. After about a week my fish started to deteriorate. I have since learned that bettas need a minimum of 5 gallons to thrive. Additionally, even with constant care and rotation of the micro greens, this little ecosystem has failed to maintain healthy living parameters without 3x weekly water changes and the addition of a filter. Hardly the easy system that is advertised. Unfortunately, I will be moving my fish into a larger tank and trashing this one. This system is great for growing micro greens, super easy.

I am loving my water garden duo. It feels healthier for both the fish and us! It's well designed, so easy to start and maintain. Attractive design too. Professor Fin seems very happy in his new home. The seeds sprouted within a day so we had very immediate satisfaction with that too!

This is a great easy to assemble and attractive unit. My kids loved to pick out the fish, set up the tank, and choose plants for the top chambers. They chose bamboo and basil and then planted the micro green seeds in the last chamber. The fish is doing great and the plants are thriving. Very happy with the aquaponic set!!!

I thought it was the coolest thing ever when I saw it and had to have it!! I am so glad I bought it. Set it up just like the instructions said, it has been together with my beta and seeds for 8 days, the tank has stayed nice and clean and the seeds sprouted and are are about 2 -3 inches high.

Well this is pretty awesome. It was super easy to setup and everything that was needed was in the box. The directions were super clear. My betta is doing well and the plants grew pretty fast. I see that there are other plants that will work in the system, so I may try those later. I did have some issues trying to get additional medium for the product though.

I love it I cannot wait to see my girls will grow in this. And there betta fish.

Of all the gifts at Christmas, this was my 6 year old daughter’s favorite! Very easy to set up, sprout and clean. It adds so much beauty and life to our kitchen. I love that it teaches my kiddos about growing food and encourages them to try new foods. I wish I had gotten more to give as gifts!

Love the concept but it needs a better filtration system. Without a good filter this water garden set requires a lot more work to maintain than it claims because the microgreens do not adequately keep the water clean on their own. The seeds did sprout and grow quickly which was very impressive. But if not harvested plus a thorough cleaning of the pods within 2 weeks then the roots get moldy and rot, the water gets cloudy with sediment and fish poop building up at the bottom and the whole thing emits a foul odor. I’ve raised fish in plain tanks without a filter with more success. Everything did look great with this water garden until my fish started dying due to all of the above. The surviving fish became sick and lethargic but as soon as I transferred them to another tank they fully recovered. So as it, this system does work but requires a lot more cleaning and maintenance (including water changes and vacuuming poop sediment buildup) at least once every two weeks with the micro greens than even a plain tank with nothing. The grow rocks are very time consuming to clean as they get terribly entangled with the roots. Tossing them and using fresh ones would be easier but a lot more expensive. I would be interested in trying other grow mediums to see if they give better results keeping the water cleaner and maintaining healthier sprouts. But only grow rocks are given in this kit and not sure if I want to pay even more for another grow medium or a good filter. All being said, I still really enjoy my water garden, just saying it requires a lot more work or supplies than it claims.

My son has wanted a fish for a long time, and I finally felt he was old enough for the responsibility. We are homeschoolers so when I saw this product I thought, perfect! He gets a fish and we get to learn about hydroponics! It’s amazing how quickly the micro greens grow, we even did a time-lapse video to see how much they grow in one day. Fun!

I like this tank since I’ve had it for a few months now. I couldn’t keep up with all three of the microgreens planters so I’m now using one for micro. And the others for house plants. I added a flat heater with no problem and the temperature for the betta fish is constant and in a good range. The betta fish is happy and healthy. I would recommend this for beginners who like a simple set up.

I gave this as a gift to my three year old niece and she is just delighted to be able to watch how food grows. I was raised in a city and had no idea where food came from. I feel gratitude that Back to the Roots is able to provide children and us adults the opportunity to observe how food grows and eat fresh food that has grown through our efforts! Excellent product and I'll be buying lots of Back to the Roots products in the future.

Our beta fish love their new tanks plus the micro greens grew in a week and were ready to harvest.

My wife absolutely loves it. She was a sceptic about having a fish but now she is in love with it and everything grew right away. Would buy again for sure!

We opted for a few smaller fish that our local pet store said were safe to live in a small tank instead of getting just one beta. So far so good! We’ve been munching on wheatgrass and sprouts since we got this set up. A great addition to our kitchen and helps make city living feel more country! Farm to table and nice to look at!

This product is incredibly negligent. Betta fish need to be in at least 5 gallons of water. While you have the right idea, the designer obviously threw together a design without having enough information about aquaculture.
