Set very easily using an impact driver. Easy to get flush of slightly counter sunk.

The screws had to be backed out and back in a few times just to sit flush. Not impressed but did not cost much more than competitors brand. Not the easiest to work with.

They work fine on the backer board install.

Definitely a must to secure cement board. Strong screws without any stripping of the heads. 1-5/8” is for 1/2” cement boards.

I tried the square head drive flat head screws in my bathroom remodel and found them to be terrible to work with, square screw drivers kept kept wearing out. Then I switched to the Backer-on screws, with star drive T-25 bit. They were far superior. I was able to set the screws flush to the boards everytime. Big time saver using the Backer-On screws. Highly recommend them!
