Overall it was easy to assemble except that the wood was pretty dry and susceptible to breakage. It is beautiful assembled.

Too bad I ordered before the first reviewer finished his review. It's pretty, but not so very high quality. I don't really expect it to last, particularly with all the subtle joint movement and creaking/groaning. (And, yes, it's on level ground, all fasteners in correct place and tightened to extent possible without damaging wood, etc.) To the manufacturer, there are two main things that you need to consider: 1) Get a drill press, and 2) have a tech writer who has never before assembled anything actually assemble the thing WHILE WRITING the assembly instructions. (There were repeated steps, missing caveats, etc.) To the buyer: wood is very light-weight; it smells vaguely like cedar, but I have serious doubts. A few (of many) members were warped or twisted despite being well-dried (although I could pull into alignment with hardware provided) and/or damaged in transit, some pieces splintered because screw holes were too close to edge, etc. Wooden pieces are stained (although a few large spots were missed), but not covered with lacquer or anything to resist weathering. Also, this was apparently manufactured without a drill press because in some cases, the through-holes were drilled half-way from each side and didn't meet in the middle. Also, on the seat itself, the pilot holes in the center of the seat slats were centered rather than off-set to meet the actual center support piece when assembled; what that means is that I have holes in the center of my seat where there are no fasteners because I had to drill my own holes to actually line up with the seat when assembled per the instructions. Also, the pilot holes for the little "feet" were too large, so the feet fall out...again and again and again. I finally had to remove them because there's no telling where one of the four went after the normal moves involved in initially setting the sides up and connecting the "roof" cross-pieces. There were a few pieces of hardware which were either incorrectly sized or the members they jointed were not dimensionally correct because air space remains when the through-bolt is bottomed out in the nut. To the poor guy that has to install what the buyer bought: take care to look for the pilot holes that are drilled in the large upright members; it is possible to begin the assembly process with the pilot holes on the wrong side if you don't pay close attention; nothing in the instructions remind you to check locations/orientation of pilot holes. Also, each little piece must be assembled, so make sure you have a "gapping" tool (like a wrench handle or whatever is the right dimension--which the instructions actually do mention!) to properly gap the seat slats. Also note that there's no tool list in the instructions, but I needed not only the little half-way Allen-type hi-torque wrenches that were provided (which missed the driver on the long end that would have worked much better in those deep-well holes so that you didn't have to re-set the wrench every quarter-turn), but also needed #2 cross-tip and flat-head and 13mm nut driver and/or adjustable-jaw back-up wrench on the hardware. It wasn't hard to assemble, but there were a few irritants. You will want a colleague when initially connecting the horizontal top pieces to the two sides.

Pretty cool swing we placed behind the waterfalls in the pool area. The palm trees are still a little young but will grow into size and place! The quality of the wood, hardware and stain were excellent and very sturdy when we sat in it - I'm in the 200lb club and the swing felt strong and sturdy while swinging back and forth. I used the supplied re-bar stakes to secure the legs to the ground and there is no sway or movement at all! Once assembly was completed, upon sitting in the chair I wanted a little more incline, so I simply shortened the front chains by 2 links - perfect! 1st ones to try it - my mom and I......!!!

Bought this last year, and we love it. Easy to assemble (a thousand parts, so organize them before you start!), and beautiful when it's finished. One flaw -- it's lightweight, so anchor it. We didn't realize it until it toppled over this month in a windstorm and broke in three places. We're hoping since the company was so responsive when we needed replacements that were damaged in shipping that we'll be able to get the parts. I'd recommend it, but only if you're going to anchor it. You won't regret it should the wind pick up!

Flabby and had to reinforce with extra nails.Took full day to put together Wouldnt recoment purchasing

Wood quality was good. Couple of the cuts were off slightly and a few pilot holes were missing. We put on a clear water protector to help protect it from our harsh New England weather.

No way is this swing a three person swing it just about fits two adults.

I love the looks of this swing but when sitting on it have serious worries it will collapse and when two people sit I say a prayer that it will withstand our weight. Squeaks and groans makes me not want swing for relaxation. Has been tightened and oiled to no avail. Very disappointed,

This was pretty easy to put together. Quality was good and the hardware was actually all there!! The only thing I can say is put high quality "fender washers" under the bolts and unions as you put it together, I used 5/16 X 1 1/4" washers. Prevents the supplied lock-washers from really digging into the wood. This wood is NOT a hardwood. Also made the pergola much more solid feeling and sturdy. I know it is extra cost but it is worth it.

i little on what i would consider to be on the light duty side. makes a lot of popping and cracking noise when you swing. you have to be careful if using a drill or impact driver to assemble. if you drive the screws too far, the wood will split. looks good though.

I am disappointed with Home Depot that they sell such product. This is not wood but paper you can call which can just tear. Super light and very weak which can break very easily. Please do not order this product because I am going to return it.

Think twice before you buy. Came in package torn and parts out of box. This was made in china and was a nightmare to put together. None of the holes matched up and had to drill new holes to put together. Crooked as it could be. Never thought Home Depot would sell a piece of inferior item. Thought price was good until we put it together. Now think it was not even worth what we paid for it. Looks great but that's it.

Pros: easy ordering, good delivery, excellent price, step by step pictorial instructions, extra hardware included in case you drop a washer or nut, stylish design is eye catching. Cons: unfinished wood will rot quickly if not treated. It would be nice if they coated it first to get into all the joints. Engineering is designed down to the skinniest structure permissible. I would prefer heavier timbers for quality and durability. Hardware all comes sloshed together in large bag. Better organization would be appreciated: bag for frame/bag for seat/bag for lattice/etc Over all good product and worth the money.

I bought this in late spring 2016 and the stain has worn off very badly.

Looks great, easy to assemble, and great customer service from Backyard Discovery. Assembled this by myself after treating with a clear water repelling stain. One of the boards split when drilling the screw but customer service had another one to me in a few days. The boards are not as sturdy as I hoped for ( otherwise a rating of 5 ) but the price can't be beat. Have not had more than 350 lbs on the swing but seems to be stable. The next test will be winter and the snow !! Definitely recommend this for the value.

Great Gift. . I bought this for my son and family. They are very happy with gift. He said assembly was easy, but it did take an afternoon (4 - 5). There were a couple of missing bolts, but the company shipped replacements immediately, no questions asked. The swing is sturdy and looks like picture. great customer service company

bought in April 2016. its great for competing our backyard. the metal covered swing sets we have purchased were flimsy. the winds would blow them off our deck, no weight to these products. this set can be anchored and it has weight to it!

Bought this swing for my wife's birthday and she loves it. It is a well made swing with easy to follow instructions. The neighbors all swarmed over to look at it and they love it also. I am trying to find a winter cover for the swing to protect it over our harsh winters. Not having much luck but I'm not giving up. Overall this is a beautiful swing and glad we got it.

My husband and son purchased this for me for Mother's Day. I Love it!!! It took them the entire day to put together but the instructions were very easy to follow.
