I regret buying this
I installed 2 entry knobs and 2 dead bolts. First the instructions are not clear. Adjusting between 2 3/8 an 2 3/4 backset is simple but not obvious. Wasted way too much time. Customer service says new directions are being shipped with new product but they weren't available on the web. Hard to believe.
Second, the smartkey directions are not clear. They show the key being rotated one direction but that not the way it rotates. They say it should click but it doesn't.
They claim that smartkeys are compatible with Schlage but that's not true.
Finally, we have a traditional Baldwin front door with a Schlage key. It will not accept smartkeys. Smartkeys are basically kwikset and not compatible with Baldwin.
Ugh. Bad experience. Still, they look nice and feel solid. See pic.

It started with a laundry room remodel; after painting and a new floor we decided to get 2 new doors for that room. The room looked so fantastic that I knew I wanted great hardware to finish with. After spotting these in a catalog and some online research I found them at Home Depot. These door knobs are well built and somewhat larger than your standard knob. They look great! The satin nickel finish is beautiful. Went back today to buy more so that all downstairs door knobs match. One note; when buying the keyed entry knob you will have to buy the deadbolt separately.

A solid door knob
I had to get new doorknobs for my front and back doors because they were in seriously bad conditions--to the point where they would lock by themselves and we would get locked out of the house. I went to Home Depot to get new ones and this model was one of the few doorknobs that I would feel safe using for my front and back doors. Most of the other ones were cheaper. Never skimp on a door knob that keeps you and your property safe...
They are a very solid/heavy piece of hardware that comes with simple instructions and are very easy to install. All you need is a screwdriver. The only problem I had was getting the strike plate adjusted correctly so the door would close. I never had to install a new doorknob before but I am under the impression that this has to be done with all new doorknobs.
The one con I have is that the interior and exterior knobs seem a tiny bit loose. I tightened the knobs as much as I could in the installation process but they still seem to jiggle a little bit.

Locking mechanism binds up
My previous Baldwin knobs have been great. I wanted to try one with the Smart Key feature so that it would be easier to change the locks. The button to lock the door works ok on one knob, but binds up on the other. I exchanged them once, but may need to again. Seems to be related to how the knob fits over the locking mechanism since it works without the door knob on it.

Beautiful
This knob set looks great on our back door. We paired it with the double cylinder deadbolt for extra security. The only con would be that the key has to be inserted in the opposite direction from the deadbolt necessitating turning the key over to operate the other lock. Not impossible, but a hassle to have to do.

What's there not to like about Baldwin Products. For those that have not experienced a touch of quality have not touched a Baldwin lock. Each time you touch a Baldwin lock you can feel the quality of richness, you will feel the sturdiness of the product that a lesser priced brand just does not emit. Cheaper brands that I looked at have the hollow feel while Baldwin is a solid product. Take a touch test and you'll see what I mean. While you pay twice the price of a lesser brand ($30 vs $60.00), the quality brand lives on forever. I have had Baldwin door handles for at least 3 decades, they never broke down, always look new and feel wonderful each time I open any door in my home. Do I recommend paying a litter more? You bet I do...and no I do not work for or get paid by Baldwin. easy to install
