Fairly easy to install. Make sure you plan out and prep your site first. I installed this as a backup for my main pump so I didn't have to mess around with batteries and such.

I Installed the Basepump 725 Residential last week 9/19. Had rain this past weekend where my electric pump was ejecting water about every seven to eight minuets, we had a heavy sustained rain for hours. I unplugged the electric pump and let the Basepump take over. It worked like a charm. I did install a separate dedicated 3/4 inch PVC water line from the main shut off valve to the sump pit for maximum pumping ability. My entire home is 1/2 inch, it is older. I paid $180.00 for the pump that included tax and a $50 gift card. $20.00 dollars in parts to install it. A $200.00 purchase in total that could save thousands of dollars in damage. There are products out there now that allow you to connect copper water lines without soldering joints. That makes it a total do it yourself project if you choose to do so.

This was a terrible product as the fittings leaked everywhere. Not sure why or how a company can design and market to DIY'ers that this is ready to install out of the box. How does brass metal mix with plastic? This leaked everywhere after all fittings were tightened by a journeyman plumber. I spent money on a plumber and parts and drilled holes thinking this would work and I am out alot of money. I am sure that no one cares but there are my two cents...

It is nice to not have to worry about the electric going off and my sump overfilling. My plumber was very impressed with the system. He said he is going to recommend it over battery backup systems. We did a test pump and it worked beyond expectations. (Need to have city water for constant pressure)

This was not necessarily an easy diy project, but the instructions were pretty straightforward and I got it done in a reasonable amount of time. The pump worked great the times I've tested it. Hopefully I won't need to rely on it in a real life situation.
