The mattress is very firm and I prefer something a bit softer. I do wake up feeling rested, but going to bed takes a few minute as I attempt to get comfortable. On the other hand, my daughter who is pretty young has no problem falling asleep. I hope as time goes by I can get use to this mattress.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. A break in period is expected as you adjust to a new sleeping surface. This model is listed as a medium on the comfort scale, so it falls in between Firm and Soft. It is better to have a mattress that is firmer vs too soft. You can add a topper to go slightly softer, but there is not a great remedy for making a mattress firmer if it is already too soft.

Best Mattress I've ever had
I received my mattress in the mail about two weeks ago inside a box that was approximately 3 feet tall. Once I opened the box and removed the plastic from the matress it began to expand immediately. I let the matress sit for about 10 hours before laid on it for the first time. That night I had the best sleep I've had in years. Now after a long day of work I look forward to sleeping on my new Beautyrest 14 inch Queen Memory Foam Mattress with surface cool gel. I would definitely recommend this mattress.

This mattress not only met our expectations, it totally exceeded them! I mean, a mattress in a box...really? It is super comfortable, sleeping better than we have in a long time. Ordered online and picked up at the store, couldn't have been any easier. We highly recommend this mattress.

Excellent mattress!! My son was miserable on his old mattress. He liked this new one the first day and was skeptical on the second, but now he's SOLD. The mattress arrived within a few days of ordering. it came on UPS in a box about 4' tall. The box had wheels on the back of it so it was super easy to get inside and into his room. Once we removed it from the box we simply put it on his bed and removed the plastic and this compacted mattress instantly began taking shape. It was pretty quick to become full size. He is very impressed with how comfortable it is for him. He likes that he cannot feel when someone moves around on his bed while he's laying on it (his large dog loves to sleep with him). The memory foam is great at conforming to your body contours and then instantly regaining its regular shape when you adjust positions or get up from the mattress. Pretty impressed with the mattress so far, happy with this purchase.

Jeez has bed technology diversified lately! New weird technical and added expensive items not thought of 15 years ago! The mattress world runs the whole gambit and I guess that's why certain people will spend weeks going to mattress stores and trying out everything and why they have favorite hotels. I have to admit our old bed has overstayed its welcome by probably two years, but being so expensive, pillowtop so it's not reversible and having to need the big boxspring under it and moving it up and around a few narrow hallways and staircases we have put off quality sleep for too long. It's that time of life where we don't get much sleep anyway, so I guess what we get should be quality. This bed we just got under assumption never having lain on it. I have slept on memory foam before and except the sides sorta pushing down when you get up in the morning, the feel just as great as the bed we spent $2300 on 15 years ago. That give away or morning push off just takes getting use to after having a spring/pillowtop mattress for so long. For that reason and the fact I wish I have gone up a on firmness which is my error I would have rated five stars across the board. What you notice most in this kind of change over is no bouncing around when jumping into bed and when your spouse or partner moves it seems you don't shrink in or bulge away. Of course if you have no small children then you will not have to worry about kids jumping on these type beds. My wife says it's the perfect firmness for her which is most important. I could have gone almost full firm but those split beds that sell for massive sums still has people complaining about that seem down the center which tends to widen with years. I on the other hand tend to deal with snoring which gets me kicked off anyway and don't seem to sleep in a regular pattern. Usually I'll sleep a couple hours then it's work then a few short naps maybe on the couch or in the recliner between paperwork or out and about. This is a three layered mattress. The bottom eight inches is a hardened foam, then on top three inches of medium firm then the top three medium with added ingredients to help with heat disbursement and cooling. The cover is cleanable with a slightly embellished soft top cover. The factory says you can use regular fitted sheets, I suggest going ahead and buying fitted sheets that fit over a 12" to 14" mattress. Really amazing is this arrives in about a forty five inch high by twenty times twenty inch box with actual wheels on one side and plenty of cutout handles for pulling and lifting. The box was so cool we kept it and the grandson used it to play R2D2 for halloween while the parents pulled him around. He just lifted up the top dome his parents put on the rounded white construction paper. * Not recommended by the manufacturer to haul children in. Once you remove the bed out of the box either in the room you want or to get it flat and flexible to move into a tighter spot you should give it a few hours to let it rise. It won't fully be at it's max intake of the air as it needs a full 24 hours but usually people might only have eight to twelve. Be extremely careful not to cut the bed while opening the bag or snagging it while unprotected moving it. We consider this as good as the last bed we bought when new when it comes to a good deep sleep and easily beats out every hotel bed but one. Good thing 25th marriage anniversaries only have to be paid for one time. This comes with a ten year warranty with limitation on customers doing their end to retain the integrity of everything.

I was nervous about this one since I have never bought a mattress I haven't at least laid down on once. But, it worked out well! I like it a lot PROS - It comes in a box that's really easy to get around. It's a decent size but has built in wheels - like a roller bag/suit case. Even bringing it in the house up the steps was easy by myself. - Setup was easy. I got it on the bed frame and unwrapped it. It expanded quickly and the directions stated it was ready to sleep on. I did give it about 12 hours before I put sheets on it - No lingering odor. Our last memory foam mattress stunk for a few days. The odor from this was undetectable after a few hours - Comfort is subjective, but I find this very comfortable. I prefer a harder mattress and was a tad disappointed when I first laid down on it. The gel layer is very soft. However, the foam under it is very supportive and firm. It kind of reminds me of a pillow top firm inner spring mattress. I have been getting a great nights sleep on it and really like it - It does stay really cool. Not cold, but it doesn't heat up with my body heat. I am very sensitive to this and get really uncomfortable when I am too hot. I don't move around a lot when I sleep either. This works as advertised. CONS The only bad thing about having a mattress delivered in a box is dealing with the packaging and the old one. There's a lot of plastic wrapping this together and the box is rather large. I had to dispose of my old mattress which is free in the town I reside in, but could be an additional expense for some. Also it's tall. I appreciate the thickness of the mattress from a comfort perspective, but its definitely an adjustment from our old 10" mattress. Keep that in mind if your foundation is made to accommodate thinner mattress Overall I would definitely recommend this. I travel a lot and spend a lot of time in hotels. I really look forward to my own bed now after sleeping on this mattress

A seriously comfortable mattress. Quite likely the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on, out of the near-dozen I've owned, and many dozens I've used at various hotels around the world (including luxury locations). It's also hands-down more comfortable than any foam mattress I've slept on-- in some parts of the world (Europe), a standard mattress is made from foam similar to the lower part of this mattress (not very comfy). In some cases, a memory foam topper might be added to that hard foam. As a side sleeper, I found those beds distinctly unpleasant. This mattress has none of the discomfort of the old-style foam beds. Comfortable and supportive, it's neither firm nor plush. The surface layers nicely contour to match the body's shape-- making it far more supportive than a traditional mattress could be. But neither is there a sensation of sinking-in (like with a plush pillow top). As I've aged, I've come to appreciate a supportive mattress-- the spine and joints don't take pressure or being stretched (like happens on a hard bed) as much as they used to. We don't disturb each other when moving around or getting up, because there are no springs to create "bounce".
