I purchased two of these fans, and I’m thoroughly impressed after we got them installed. The actual install of the fans was the easy part. Although the instructions were not detailed at all, I guess on most of it (which wasn’t hard with a little common sense) more details would be nice though to ensure it was put together properly. The trouble came when programming the remotes, it was a complete chore! All said and done with the remotes programmed as they should be, they’re great, the move enough air and the motors are quieter than I imagined they’d be.

Moves Air Nicely
I read several reviews on this fan saying that it did not have sufficient air flow for them. Well, I bought it anyway - and, what do you know - my fan puts out a ton of air. I have it on a back porch that is approximately 20x20 with a 9.5’ ceiling - I used the drop bar that came with the fan. Directions are garbage, but the fan is performing great.

This fan is terrible waste of time and money your hand can put off more air than this fan! If it wasn’t such a pain to uninstall I would return it for a refund. Went back and bought another fan to install also. This fan has 6 speeds and they are slow as molasses. If you want a fan that looks descent but puts off no air this is the fan for you!!!!!!

I'm really puzzled by the reviews that say this doesn't move air. We have ours in a high ceiling living room and even on the lowest setting it is fantastic and moves the air very well. We hardly ever use the highest setting because it generates so much air that it stirs up all our un-vacuumed pet hair (oops)! We've had it all summer and are very pleased with it.

We installed several of these fans in the service area of a auto dealership renovation project. The fan has a clean, modern design and moves plenty of air at the elevation of 14' above finish floor.

Nothing special or difficult about the installtion. The fan looks good and appears to be a quality item. I placed it in a 1300 sq ft building with no walls. It does a fine job. Amazing that a fan this big did not need to be balanced. Its totally quiet. Id buy it again with no questions.

Big Air, Hearty Blow Factor and LOVE the Remote!
We installed the fan in a pole barn. Most of the time is spend working on things and potting plants etc. It gets VERY warm in the summer and really anytime of the year it would be nice to be able to have the air move around. We had a regular 52In fan in place and it just wasn't enough. We didn't want two fans, so when this became available, we jumped at the chance to install it.
We had to reinforce the ceiling beam that we attached it to. This was very simple and easy!
One of the best things about this fan other than the fact that it REALLY blows the air around is the remote control. We can be in any part of the barn and adjust the fan.
Pictures of the installation.
The first misconception people seem to have about these types of fans is that they are supposed to function like regular ceiling fans. These are air "movers" not "blowers". I didn't get mine from HD, but didn't know at the time that they sold it. So, installation is straight forward like any other ceiling fan. Instructions say that whatever you connect it to needs to support 90 lbs, fan weighs under 30. I called the company and they said that any standard mount will be fine. Hooked mine up and man this thing is sweet! Moves air that you can feel without a blow the papers around kind of breeze. We live in Houston which is a hot, humid city, but turned the AC off and just let this fan run and have stayed plenty cooled off. Would definitely recommend, but not if you are looking for a fan that blows air on you. I keep it running at lowest speed, it has 6.

So cool!
Texas summers can be brutally hot, heck Texas winters can be brutally hot! This is a fan that, I think, had Texas in mind when it was designed. Its 72in, that’s HUGE! It has 9 blades! It has 6 speed settings! It rates over 10,000 CFM!
You can probably tell I’m pretty excited about this fan. But the reality is that this is a great fan in any large space where you need to move a lot of air, but don’t want to disturb the air too much and blow everything all around. See, the benefit of 10k CFM over 72” is that you wouldn’t really know that it was moving quite that much air because, even at high speed, it’s not terribly windy. I mean, don’t get me wrong, you feel it for sure! But it’s not knocking your hat off your head or anything. In my shop, that means that at full speed, it’s not blowing sawdust all around the place. This I like! Not to mention that this thing just looks mean! It’s super masculine and industrial and looks great in any workshop setting.
This fan was easily as simple or simpler to install than any other fan I’ve hung before. It hangs just like any other fan with the exception that they want you to attach the bracket for the fan directly to a ceiling rafter or cross member that is capable of supporting 90lbs or more. I’m assuming the 90lb rating is due to the down-force the fan puts on the bracket when running at full speed. This fan also has a safety cable, so you will need attic access if you want to install it. The safety cable is in case the bracket were to fail, the cable would keep the fan from falling and injuring someone.
All told, this fan took about 1 hr to install and that was in a brand new location, not replacing a prior fan. Great buy!
The 72 inch industrial looking ceiling fan is a perfect fit in my modern living room. The fan itself is nice and stylish with a metallic nickle finish and runs very quietly. The only problem I had with the fan is the installation instruction booklet that came with the fan is NOT very detailed. Luckily on the side of the box was additional information with a link to the manufacture's youtube installation video which I have linked below to my review. Once I watched the video, installation was a breeze, LOL. Speaking of breeze, I can wait for summer to come because on high, this fan will hold you to your seat. Just a little tip, don't have any loose paper laying around because this fan will blow it all away. The air circulating abilities of this fan are astronomical. I hope to enjoy this fan for years to come.
Electricians didn't complain too much. Had them cut a custom rod to drop from a 22' living room ceiling. Love my purchase!!!!

I installed the fan in my shop, that has a 19’ ceiling. I mainly need to move warm air down in winter. So far, we have had a couple cool days. With no heat on, the shop temp rise 3 degrees in about 20 minutes.

Good shop fan
Bought this fan even though it has its share of bad reviews. It wasn't bad to install, we had to shorten the down rod. Wired it up no problem, hit the power, worked like a charm. Our shop is 60x44, it's dead center and on 4 I can feel air movement at all corners. It does exactly what we need by keeping the air circulating.

Bought 2 - airflow is weak/they have issues
I bought 2 of these for my shop. They barely push any air, and the highest setting doesn't look even close to what I'd expect. I literally have to stand directly underneath to feel a slight breeze at its highest setting. It's installed about 12ft high. I've had them installed for about 3 months and they randomly just turn off for no reason. After 10 minutes of playing with the remote sometimes they restart and sometimes they don't. I am not happy at all with these fans. Not worth the money.

Good luck with the Downrod
This fan is a huge disappointment. Big Air (the company) apparently no longer exists. Call their customer service: 1-800-433-1626 (it's disconnected). Good luck finding a downrod to fit this fan.
Thought HD vetted their products.
Fail.

If you have any issues with your replacement, please let us know. These fans work best about 10 feet above the floor and push air out to the sides.

This is actually my second one purchased. The fan itself is very quiet and works well. However, there have been some changes to between the 2 we have. Approx 2 years apart from purchase. The biggest notable change is the motor control unit. While both fans work fine, they are slightly different. The other notable change is "someone" decided to slap a giant BIG AIR decal on the body of the main unit. I was able to re-mount 180 degrees and hide this. While I understand the need for branding, this should not be on the motor unit for all to see.
