Purchased 5/4/2015 from HD. Jack was leaking hydraulic fluid out of the box. Tightened everything, added fluid. Jack handle and foot pedal fall off repeatedly. Foot pedal doesn't allow jack to slide under lower cars and foot pedal doesn't always work. Cannot remove foot pedal because retaining bolt is broken in place and would have to be drilled out. Jack handle finally broke completely off when pot metal parts broke apart trying to lift a 2009 Buick Enclave. Never lifted anything heavier than my wife's Enclave. This is the worst jack I have ever owned and the worst jack I have ever used.
The jack is heavy duty and at a good price. The screw in stud that holds the handle in is not in the correct position, so the handle comes out far enough not to make contact with the lowering mechanism. As a result, you turn the handle, but the jack does not lower. You have to wiggle and push in until it slides in the slot. I had to remove the stud and replace it with a thicker bolt to correct the problem.
Durable, Sturdy, Looks Great
Done a test lifting and seems to do the job. Definitely not at a pro level but still a good product for regular home use. The foot pedal seems a good idea but it’s almost useless since it gets on the way when you push the jack under the car (and I have a truck, which is much higher than most cars). And I agree with some other people that it’s almost impossible to lower the jack slowly, something that pro level jacks do well. But overall it’s a good product for the price.
