The drill was used to go through a very hard stone outer wall for placing an outside electrical outlet. We wanted to place an electrical outlet on the wall facing our pool for music and other uses, where we used to have long extension leads from an internal plug point. The drill was designed with ridged spurs along the shaft at the "drill" securing end to prevent the drill from seizing up, or spinning in the drill chuck as I went through the thick and very hard stone. It worked well and those spurs kept the drill bit turning when other drills would have kept stopping. The hardened bit also worked well and drilling right through the stone wall was easy. I was very satisfied with its performance and I was able to complete the project with ease

Broke after 3.5 holes
I bought this bit for use with my impact driver to drill some holes in brick to mount a hose hanger. Started 5 holes but only got all the way in on 2. On the 3rd, the tip broke off in the brick which I didn't notice until there where sparks from the metal on metal. The holes i did get done felt like it didn't want to drill in to start with so I imagine it wasn't up to the job. See attached image for the broken and melted tip. Now I can't even use that hole for fear of a piece of steel breaking the next one I use!

We are sorry to hear about the issue you experienced with the HCBG04T bit. Are you using the drill bits with a hammer drill or a standard drill/driver? You can use these bits in a regular drill/driver, however, to achieve the best performance we would recommend using the bit in a hammer drill. The vibrating action that you get with a hammer drill is what aids in the bit drilling through the masonry. We would like to know more about the issue and for us to provide best option, please send us an email at boschtools@custhelp.com or contact us at 1-877-267-2499. We are hopeful to hear from you and help you resolve the difficulties you've experienced. Thank you for your time.

Bored right through brick with a regular drill. Was putting all my weight into the drill and bit to get desired results. Little flex in the bit but worked like a champ!

Excellent drill bit for concrete. I drilled 16 holes in concrete and although it labored through the rocks (fully expected it) it performed very well. I will buy more of these as needed in all sizes.

When my 3/16 bit failed after almost 5 holes in brick, I switched to this bit to finish 3 holes. It barely finished the job. And that all it was good for. Waste of money.

I bought this bit to go along with my new Rigid hammer drill. Had to secure some conduit along a brick wall. I had 8 anchor holes to drill. I made it through almost 5 before the bit was toast. I guess if you are supposed to buy these by the dozen, that would be acceptable.

Used it to drill into concrete porch and walk to place post holders for a stair rail. Worked like a charm! The holes were exactly 3/8" and the smooth. Dust was easily sucked up with vacuum.

This bit seems to be of very good quality, despite being MADE IN CHINA. I had to drill a hole in the concrete deck of my front porch, and it went in like butter!

Just picked this up and thought it was the wrong product as I ordered it online. I was expecting the shank to be round with the three tabs to prevent bit rotation in the drill chuck; however, it has a 1/4" hex shank instead. Online picture doesn't represent actual product, and I confirmed that both the description online and the packaging says HCBG12T. A little hesitant about having a 1/4" hex shank on a 3/8" drill bit, but we'll see how it goes when I get home and try it out.
