Customer Reviews for Bosch 800 Series 30 in. 1.6 cu. ft. Built-In Convection Speed Microwave in Stainless Steel with SpeedChef Cooking

In three years, I have had multiple failures with this (and other) appliance(s). 1. Turntable failed after 2 months, Bosch replaced the entire microwave. 2. Door spring broke on one side after two years, meaning the heavy door would drop like a stone if you let go while opening. Was forced to use an authorized Bosch repair company and Bosch will not sell the door springs, so you're forced to buy the entire door assembly. For a spring!!! Cost was $550 + tax installed. 3. LED control panel went dim and is now completely blank. To repair you have to replace the electronic control board behind it. They are discontinued and no longer available. So 3 years after spending a fortune on this convection microwave, I have to guess at cooking method and time. This is useless. I now have to shop for a replacement and the entire look of our kitchen will now change for the worse. I bought this microwave, the warming drawer the large wall oven with side opening door, the gas cooktop, and the downdraft for our dream kitchen remodel and it's been a huge waste of money and my time. The cooktop knob labelling has faded to almost illegible so you can’t tell which knob controls which burner until you turn on the gas. The counter mounted downdraft motor has failed and screeches loudly if you turn on the fan. I was quoted another (I think from memory) $350 to replace that piece of junk. I will never buy Bosch again.

We purchased this microwave and within a year had to replace the door switch. Within a year of replacing the switch, it is once again malfunctioning. We have read many reviewers complaining of the same problem on multiple websites. Bosch has not listened and re-designed this switch (located where the door latch connects into the unit). We also agree with other reviewers that you can barely hear the timer go off. Our Bosch dishwasher timer is very loud and persistent. AND now a SECOND problem has begun, again multiple reviewers are complaining of the same problem, the lighted control panel on the microwave has become very dim. We can barely see it. We are extremely unhappy with this purchase!! We bought all upper-end Bosch appliances when we remodeled our kitchen 3 years ago. We are warning our friends to avoid this microwave when!

I HAVE MY THIRD IDENTICAL OVEN, ONLY BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY OVEN TO FILL THE HOLE IN THE CUSTOM CABINETRY. BOSCH DROPS THE BALL ON THIS MODEL!

The black display panel control for brightness on the Bosh convection microwave cannot be adjusted. Therefore, you have a display that is impossible to read for any function. Bosh knows of the defect. It cannot be corrected by a simple repair nor replacement of a light. You must replace the mother board. For customers in central Louisiana, there is only one authorized Bosh repair service. That service refuses to provide diagnostic and repair for the microwave. Bosh will not accept diagnostic from anyone else, Bosh will not send the part to me. I have attempted to get Bosh to assist in getting the microwave repaired for more than two months. I have an appliance that is useless. I have a kitchen full of Bosh appliances. My experience with Bosh customer service has been frustrating and disappointing. My experience with the convection microwave has provided experience that will eliminate future purchase of Bosh appliances.

So far works great is easy to use! Look forwad to useing the convection and warming function!

2 plus years of ownership. Mother board replaced twice. It takes 4 minutes to pop a mini bag of popcorn. Would not buy anything Bosch again. My stove is Bosch and it has failed,

This unit certainly looks good. Sadly, that is the only good thing about this unit. It is just 26 months old. Ours failed 3 times under warranty and 2 times out of warranty and we paid to have it repaired both times out of warranty. Our local appliance store sold us on the quality, but that was not the case with us. The first failure was just 1 month after it was installed - that should have been a red flag. 5 Failures in 26 months is just plain poor quality - Bosch, fix your quality and stand behind your product. We spent a lot of money with all the Bosch appliances with our remodeled Kitchen. Unfortunately, we greatly regret it.

The Kitchen Timer Alarm Tone is set on HI, but it's so quiet that we can only hear it if we are standing next to the microwave. And it only goes off once & does not repeat. Very disappointed.

Easy to install

Terrible quality for an appliance of this price. Both door springs and the control display broken a month after warranty expired. Do yourself a favor and avoid this product. I will say we did the rest of our kitchen in Bosch appliances and all other products are working well after around 4 years. They should have recalled/replaced this product - just look online at all the issues this thing has. Because of it I've personally persuaded 3 other families who were doing kitchen remodels to avoid their products - alot more costly for Bosch than if they'd just replaced the shoddy oven.

Purchased this unit 4 years ago. A couple of years ago began noticing the clock and timer display was growing dimmer to where now it is only visible by putting your nose right up to the display. Finally called a service man, $650 to replace the front console. No individual parts available, must replace the entire circuitry. For the money, not a good purchase, would recommend looking for something with a better rating.

Now I have to "guess" my inputs in order to operate the unit. After some research, it appears that most customers experience the same issue. I am very disappointed in the quality of this unit.

We like this oven, but have had the apparently common problem with the display, which would apparently cost $500 to repair! We have decided to live with it but are disappointed.

Works as we expected already a month, no complains, real BOSH quality!

This product is great to look at. Unfortunately, the product does not hold up to the Bosch reputation that we all know and love. Just after this product went out of warranty, the display/control panel went dim. I can hardly see the numbers or cooking setting that I am trying to adjust. After looking at the Bosch website, found out this is a common problem that they know about, but still continue to sell this product without a resolution to address this issue. Expensive to fix when out of warranty. Buyer beware.

So far very pleased with it. Would have preferred that the door opens like other microwave oven but am getting used to it. Also on our old micro/convection we could put in a time when using convection and the oven would stop automatically when the time expired. This is one thing I miss. Otherwise it is a great oven.

Installed for 2 weeks and already it grinds.

This is amazing! it cooks like a regular oven, but also a great microwave. We love it’s performance, and it also looks fantastic in the new kitchen.
