The DareDevil spade bits have a full cone threaded tip so the bit will pull itself into the wood. A Forstner bit would be a better bit for fine woodworking and provides a smooth bottom if you do not want to go all the way through the wood. Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologize about the negative experience you had with it. The DareDevil Spade Bits have a full cone threaded tip, so the bit will pull itself into the wood. It is recommended to use a 3 jaw chuck drill driver instead of an impact driver as it may snap the shank of the bit. Thank you for your review and feedback. The DareDevil spade bit does feature Spur and reamer tips for cleaner holes. For best results, drill a pilot hole then place the centering tip in that pilot hole and start drilling at a low RPM making sure to hold the drill firmly and keep the bit in contact with the work.
