I updated my bathroom I was thinking this new fan will be nice and it had a cool light but soon after 6 months now it’s a year stopped working little by little motor was dead now it’s ready to go to the garage I lost the recite and I payed cash . I would not recommend

Fan and light are very nice however the springs to attach the cover would not hold up the cover to the ceiling. It would fall about an inch from the ceiling. Had to replace them with ones from an old ceiling light fixture. I had on hand. Thank goodness.

The included template made for easy rough in. installed in a modular home. attaching the exhaust duct to the housing is very difficult if you have minimal tube to begin with. box had a lean on the opposite side from where I had it mounted to the stud. got it level with drywall in the end. the metal pieces that hold the vent to the box is difficult to maunver. all in all it is a nice exhaust fan

This fan is very quiet. The light is pretty bright, it is an LED so it definitely is not a soft light. It removes steam very well. We had another lower quality fan from Home Depot and I can see there is much less moisture on the mirror and walls after a shower. I have no complaints about this exhaust fan at all.

Very good product except that it doesn’t have an energy star logo which bothers me. For the screen installation all you have to do is pop the springs out and turn them around. Very good product works well with rigid set up and I would recommend to anyone that wants to upgrade their CFM. Better quality than my old Broan 678. Installation is plain and simple and also the box has a template that can cut out.

the installation is somewhat difficult, the clip on the cover sucks but the worst thing is that the cable that feeds the motor touches the fan blades and that causes a lot of noise

so Installation at first was scary for us. We have an old house we been updating so we had very little space to fit this in between rafters up in the attic.We had to modify the exhaust attachment, we cut off 3”, we left 1” just enough room left to get a clamp on and attach the exhaust piping.We had to enlarge the Sheetrock hole.The wiring was very easy for me, I understand basic electrical. The cover spring was strange but it worked for us, got it up and flush. So far it’s great, It’s so quiet!!

But everything else is good. Also ProTip use the springs from your old cover if your replacing. The springs it ships with are so cheap it doesn't hold the cover up right. I pulled the springs from the old fan and they worked fine, I would be super annoyed if I didn't have them. The UV light feature is cool and is the very reason I did the upgrade.

The cover springs are garbage can’t even get it to stay up tight against the ceiling. The fan is quiet and the light is bright is the only plus for this unit plus the microbial light is pretty cool.

This is the second NuTone bathroom light/vent fan I've installed. I love that I don't have to go into the attic to do a retrofit. But, the springs that hold the cover to the ceiling are flimsy and infuriating. After trying for 30 minutes I harvested a set of more substantial springs off an old recessed canister light. The new springs worked flawlessly. I shouldn't have to modify a fan that costs $159 with a set of springs that would cost a few pennies more. Poor decision Broan-NuTone!

So hard to install. The directions are out of order and need to reverse steps 7 / 8. So dumb. That will cost you an extra hour alone to figure out. You are also required to attach to a ceiling joist and drill holes in the metal housing to do so. Even the springs to hold the cover flush to ceiling are terrible to get spring loaded right. Fan is decently quiet but I would question 80 CFM?! Looks good when finally up but what a waste of energy and frustration. Save yourself.

Great light, quiet fan. As others noted, the spring clips that hold the cover in place work really well IF – and only if – they are turned around prior to installing the cover. (Basically, remove the clips and reattach so they curve outward instead of inward. That keeps the cover firmly locked to the ceiling).

Installing the fixture and motor is a normal process and no surprise. After that putting the cover on the body took 2+ hours, it is extremely difficult to put the over on. You push the clip in and the clip does not stay in the channel

Pretty simple to install after removing the 30 year old junk that was there before. The springs for the cover are very frustrating, I used the 30 year old ones, worked like a charm.

It went pretty well until it was time to install the cover with the light. Springs are so soft that they bend and cause the cover to hang loosely from the ceiling. 2 stars only because the rest of it looks fine.

Fan us very good. Problem is the very Chipley made cover that will not stay on. After 7 tries i identify the problem on the 2 Chipley made springs. I took the springs out and install the old 25 year springs from the old fan and worked like a charm. I guess thats why the patent is pending. So unless you have better made springs on hand stay away.

Need a two switch for this fan can work well. Or else the fan will stay on all the time. So can’t leave the bacteria light Because fan will stay on.

This was definitely an upgrade compared to my 20+ year old Panasonic. Looks very slick and modern compared to the grill or lump-in-the-ceiling types you'll find floating around. I'm not a huge believer in the violet light thing but if it does prevent mold from growing in the corners of my bathroom, sign me up. Installation is simple enough, hole in the ceiling, screw it in somewhere or another, wire it, and done. Now, putting the cover on was possibly one of the most annoying things about the installation. The spring was one of the most poorly designed piece of metal I have ever seen. It frequently popped out of the cover, easily bent out of shape, and failed to do the one thing it was made to do, keep the cover on the housing. I ended up replacing the spring with the ones from my old Panasonic and everything worked like a charm. For the price, I expect all-around decent quality. That spring was far below average... so I'm taking a star off. It's the little things that sometimes makes a huge difference. Overall, I still recommend the product (at least for the week I've had it). Just buy a spring from somewhere else.

The directions are not step by step and the diagrams do not match the actual product. The light color is an orange hue and will likely be significantly different from most modern Led color temperature colors. You WILL need access to your attic to install correctly.

Easy install, read the directions then watched a YouTube install video and was able to complete it in 20mins. My handyman capabilities aren’t the best I would say 5 out of 10 but I was able to easily install it. Bright light, fan is not super quiet but works well.

I replaced a ‘70s round exhust fan with this unit, which had its challenges. Cutting the new hole left some gaps on the side where the the hole was slightly larger. I cut some 2x4 pieces to cover the gaps in those areas and screwed the housing to the pieces from the inside out, a bit tricky when the board wants to move away from the screw. I drilled Small holes in the housing to attach since none were availabe. On the vent exhaust side I just used some insulation to plug the rest of that gap. I had no rafter to attach to so that also keeps it in place. The cover was large enough to cover the gapped areas and finished product looks clean. The cover had no issues and installed fine. Old fan was at 75db noise level, this unit was 53.8db, big improvement. Everything turned off but the furnace- 47.4db Light is bright enough to use as a main lighting source, and seems to have a cooler color temperature, just don’t look right at it! Nice upgrade. Customer very pleased :)

Overall the vent is very quiet and the light is very bright but I am very disappointed in the vent cover because mine will not stay up and it keeps falling down. I really hope there is a solution for this.

I installed this fan for a customer and this fan is not easy to install. Looks nice once installed but had to do a lot of retrofitting to make it work.

This fan is nothing short of amazing. Let me explain. I installed the fan in my toilet closet and noticed a few things. 1) the room lost all of its odor (when the room isn't freshly used ;-). The room literally doesn't have any distinctive smell. 2) We're on well water and our toilets need to be scrubbed every couple of months because of a thin brown ring that forms at the top of the water level in the toilet. After 2 weeks, I noticed that the ring was literally gone! I was shocked. I always thought the ring was minerals. Turns out it's a mix of minerals and microbes! GONE! I leave the violet light on 24/7 and it does the trick. It's like an act of God. I also have these lights above my shower. NO MORE MOLD ON THE GROUT!!!! PS: The fan is also top flight. has great pull and is very quiet. I'd give this product 10 stars if I could. I must have for any 21st century home.

Great residential product. Easy install and a nice clean design. The light source is a HUGE upgrade and the fan is so quiet!

Love the look of this bathroom vent! Its sleek and modern and is a great addition to our household. The kit comes with everything you need for installation in the ceiling. For us we had to use the retrofit installation instructions, see the photos for an idea of the size of the new hole that would need to be cut in the ceiling. The kit doesn't come with the flexible duct or parts to complete the installation through the roof. It does come with a flange for connecting which includes a baffle to prevent cold/warm air from coming back into the room. We didn't have any scientific way of testing the disinfection process - but it does give us some peace of mind - especially with the way the world is these days.

Lots of quiet ventilation from a small package. I knew going in that retrofitting a bathroom fan is a challenging project, so I did a complete simulation at “table top” level, before actually getting up to the ceiling, and I glad I did. I soon learned that the builder probably did not anticipate someone having to replace the original fan, much less to upgrade it. While this fan is well designed to fit in a small space, the duct work will require a visit into the attic, and that will need to wait for the heat wave to pass.
