It was hard to install since the unit is 30lbs and requires serious mounting compared to our old 15lbs Broan. Works great looks great. Paired it with broan backsplash. Noice is high and lights as cumbersome as the fan itself to install.

This vent hood is a beast. It is loud but also powerful. The lights are really nice and they have two settings. I have a Capitol Culinary range and this vent hood is sufficient.

We love the fan, it sucks great & the filters are easy to clean. But it came without the bulbs & we are having trouble getting bulbs. We bought 3 but they wont go in?? I need light.

This is a great exhaust hood and moves a lot of air. It is a little loud but unless the fan is located in the attic or close to the roof line, this it to be expected. Installation is difficult with one person as the unit is heavy and alignment to the upper duct must happen at the same time. The mounting holes may not match up with the cabinet and it may be necessary to drill new mounting holes. Cabinets are different and it is important to screw into structural parts of the cabinet. Once the unit was in, the kitchen is starting to look like a professional high end kitchen. I installed dimmable 50W LED lights and they brighten the workspace without the heat from halogen bulbs. The bulbs a difficult to align with the socket and took some time and many tries. This is a great addition to our kitchen.

Received the hood at my home in less than 24hrs! Installed it at a client's home a few days later. I installed the hood so it would blow the air out horizontally. Easy installation except for the prep work involved, cutting the hole to the outside and re-rounting 2 electrical wires. Extreme care must be taken when cutting the hole; also, moving the kitchen stove out of the way makes the job easier and safer. Cover the countertops and floor with a drop clothe to protect floors. The only difficulty involved was installing the 2 light bulbs. Get bulbs that last forever so you don't have to ever mess with them again! I talked to the customer a few days later and she said it worked great and got all the cooking odors out. They cook with fish sauce; so, I know it was put to the test! This was the 2nd time I used this product- both customers are happy.

I wanted a professional looking hood but needed a recirculating option as I didn't have a way to vent the hood outside. Broan offered that option. The hood is awesome! It's effective at removing smoke and odor, isn't terribly loud and looks great. Very pleased with my purchase. My contractor installed the hood so I'm uncertain as to the ease of installation.

This look was exactly what I wanted over the stove. I live in an coop in the city so I needed a ventless hood. The filters remove easily for cleaning and you can put them in the dishwasher! The extra lighting over the stove is gret. The only negative is that it is noisy.

When we first bought this product, we were concerned that it would not look "modern" enough for our kitchen and that it would not work well with our range. I have been beyond pleased with how lovely it looks in our kitchen and how well it functions. My husband loves it because it really works well!

The hood is EXCELLENT! We’ve had it for about a month and we are thrilled. I like that it has no visible logo so it goes beautifully with all of our other stainless appliances. Great product!

This 48" vent hood has a way to vent out the top and bottom. Both have metal squares you have to "cut" out to use either one. We had to vent out the back, so ALSO had to remove the two fans to exhaust out those holes (not the ones it came mounted to.)....The instructions are inside the unit so be sure and take off the vents and you'll find them inside. You will need to go buy ducting and literally fabricate ductwork to connect to existing or to vent to the outside so you'll need to buy a riveter, metal cutters, and metal bending tools, etc. After that, get some friends to lift this heavy object while you try and screw it into the roof or the wall, did I mention you'll need a carpenter to brace things to the studs to hang this from? The screws from the fans stick out about 3/8" so it wont even fit flush. Disaster, hate this and wish I wouldnt have bought it.OH!!! youlll need an electrician to connect the raw wires too.....

I was initially happy with this purchase, which I installed in 2020, but the motor died this year (2022). A replacement motor costs as much as I paid for this, so I'll be replacing the entire thing with something new.

Excellent fan once installed. Very difficult to install. Mounting holes must be marked exactly on mounting surface and mounting screws installed exactly for key holes on fan to line up and engage. Would have been much easier if there was a bracket to be pre-installed or at least a template to use when screwing in the support screws.

I got the E6430SS to replace the stock microwave/hood combo that came with my condo. Bottom line, it is superior to a microwave/hood combo that came with my condo. It does work at venting out smoke and cooking smells efficiently. That said, there are two annoyances I have with it, which makes me want to replace this unit even though it's only 3 years old: - Oil routinely dribbles out of the grease tray onto my range, or down the side of my cabinets. There's constantly droplets of oil hanging off the bottom of the hood that I have to wipe off with paper towels each week. - It's loud, loud, loud, even at the lowest speed. At least it's loud and effective at venting, unlike a microwave hood combo, but I feel like other manufacturers are able to strike a better balance. The newer GE Profile / Cafe series 600cfm hoods are much quieter at normal speeds and seem to work just as well at venting, based on one I used at my brother's place (his is model #UVW93042PSS). With that one, at the lowest speed it's basically whisper quiet and you can carry on a conversation, unlike this Broan.

I bought this a few months ago and thought it was a lot quieter than it really is. I can't hear myself think with this thing on. Also, it did not come with lights and trying to find exactly which one to buy has been fruitless. Tried calling the 800 number and was on hold for so long my grey hairs were multiplying. So far, I am not impressed. I should have just gotten a microwave with a 450 cfm and might have been happier.

Very poor engineering,, it doesn’t work. Waste of money. I upgraded to this model and was left very disappointed. I felt like I was robbed .

The exhaust fan is durable, rugged, powerful and illuminates brilliantly once those "very difficult to install" halogen lamps are twisted into place. Those lamps are nearly impossible to install unless the hood is just unpacked from the shipping box. Trying to insert and then twist the lamps into place while being unable to look at where you're working is tough. Installation of the fan definitely requires two people too. It's quite heavy and one cannot mark the screw holes unless someone supports the fan. It would be great in you would supply a paper template to use for marking the holes. Nevertheless, it's a great fan and I would purchase it again.

Hood is very large! Over powers my cook top! Already installed and nothing I can really do about it now! Very large!

Well made but fan is noisy

Good product that fulfilled my need for a high suction rear vent hood. Installing the bulbs is way too hard and I expected the blower wheel to be metal instead of plastic. Really delighted the fan speed is infinitely variable and wish the lights were also. Overall this hood looks good and seems to provide the suction we need.

Easy installation and the lighting is great!!

Had issues with this hood from day one. Would have switched it out for another brand, but had paid for professional installation. First a light socket did not work. Now fan motor works sporadically and light switch broke. Only one year on parts for warranty.

Ours vent's externally but the baffle filters don't keep enough grease out of the cavity which despite best efforts cannot be fully cleaned, which has now led to grease dripping down our wall behind the unit. I've tried everything to clean this thing thoroughly (and yes I wash the baffles in the dishwasher often) but the design is just not conducive for cleaning all the way do to the cavity design. I fear I'll need to remove the entire motor to clean fully which I do not recall the instructions saying would be needed- if they had I would have bought something else as it also is not an easy thing to do (for me at least). After 1 year it began rattling loudly and has just gotten worse. When cleaning the baffles recently I discovered the housing on the internal electrical cord for the motor was melting off which is very concerning. Maybe mine is defective but for this price, I've had better vents with less issues under microwaves in cheap apartments. I regret buying this for our kitchen remodel. Don't recommend.

The screw will come loose every few months. It is difficult to tighten it because you have to find the perfect position. I have to find repair man to fix it every time. It is also not good for oily cooking. The empty room inside the hood will become really oily. Looks good but too much trouble to maintain basic usage.

I am a retired professional chef (30+ years), so I am accustomed to working in a commercial kitchen. This range hood-fan-light combo is a workhorse, and it's beautiful. The fan is really powerful, the level is easy to adjust as needed, and we really like the 2-option light (low, high). Another real plus, it is super easy to clean. By far the best we have ever had and we highly recommend it. This product will not disappoint.

This product is extremely unreliable. You get loose screw on the motor almost every 2 or 3 months. The screw is in a very difficult location and is very hard to tighten. I need to ask repairmen almost every time. The look is good but the design is very defective. Never waste money on this.

It is working as expected, but there are a few drawbacks: (1) It is a bit noisy; (2) The knobs for turning on the light and for adjusting the fan speed should be in different shape, so that they won't be confused easily.
