Hi Jeffrey,
Your input is very important to us and we appreciate you taking the time to enter your comments. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with your flooring product. Our recommendation would be to have returned the incorrect hardwood to the retailer where you purchased the floor so they would have been able to replace it or file a potential claim on your behalf. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Have a great day. Armstrong

Disappointed
Milling quality is not good. Many pieces had broken tongues. Many pieces were either warped or had burn marks. Beatiful flooring but too many pieces to return to the store to replace. Armstrong Flooring needs to do a better job of quality control before they send this flooring to the customer. Really disappointed in Home Depot and Armstrong.

Good Morning. Thank you for taking the time to post your review of our product. I am sorry that this flooring was not up to the quality standards you were expecting. This flooring is part of Bruce’s Natural Grade category which features a greater amount of visual character such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections. The issues experienced with this floor such as the burn marks, worm holes, splits, etc are to enhance the natural look of this floor. I am sorry this information was not relayed to you prior to purchase, and again I do apologize for any inconvenience. Have a great day. Armstrong

    Bruce Hickory Flooring
Only for an experienced floor installer. A lot of warped boards and cracked boards. Have to pick through a lot of them and watch what you lay down. Otherwise great look.

Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We always like to get feedback from our valued customers. This product is part of Bruce's Natural Grade line of floors which features a greater amount of visual character such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections. Wood is a natural material containing distinctive differences in color and grain configurations. It is these differences, caused by nature, that create the warmth, beauty and originality of each hardwood floor. We do recommend having a professional installer perform the installation of these floors as the milling imperfections that are present can be difficult to work with. I do apologize for any inconvenience this floor has caused you. Have a great day. Armstrong

Highly recommend Bruce hardwood. We bought 18 boxes of this flooring back in 2015 and cross-hatch stacked it in the boxes while putting together enough money to have it installed, which we were able to do this month (March 2017). Every box contained straight/undamaged pieces when opened. Contractor installed it easily with very few bad boards (there are always a few he said). Looks beautiful and has the hickory variation in coloring, knots and grain, which we love, and which will confirm for you, and everyone who sees it, that this is real wood (not laminated, monochrome, too perfect to be real) flooring that they are walking on.

The wood is beautiful, so many different variations making the floor look very interesting and not all the same color, which I love! My husband and I are still installing so we don't have a completed project yet. We bought all the appropriate tools to do our self and it is working out. The wood quality is excellent we have half the wood in and have not come across a bad piece of wood yet the thickness is perfect and the floor feels really sturdy now. We now will do our entire first floor with this since we love it so much! I would upload a photo but it won't let me!

        Buyer beware
What could be better than solid hardwood floors, right? At $3.59 a foot it seem like a no-brainer. After unloading these 65 pound a box monsters, I broke open the box to check them out. While the box itself is 7 feet long, be prepared to see pieces as small as 12 inches long, and lots of them! I started to lay out a few to check the fit, and noticed on a flat surface they were different thicknesses! What? It was possible to shim underneath, and get some of them to come out flush, but some simply would not lay flat. I had a number of them that left noticeable gaps, so the tongue would have to be sanded down to fit into the mating piece. This was all in one box and that's only 20 sq. ft.! It seemed like most of the edges went together okay, but the ends were quite a different story. There are also a number of some fairly large knots, without even a hint of wood filler. I guess these boards might be nice if they were unfinished, because to me they look like they would need a floor sander to make them come out even. I'm now faced with the task of reloading them onto my trailer, and returning the half ton of ill fitting flooring. Do yourself a favor and buy something different. This stuff is no bargain. Very disappointed, particularly since I have a bad back, and don't appreciate having to reload all of this stuff and return it to the store. I can also say there were six boxes that were covered in thick dust, with many tears in the boxes. I have no idea what the contents look like, but don't think it would be good.

        Saved the Day!
We had purchased 17 boxes of a similar product at another home and hardware store only to find out we needed 19!!! The other store had discontinued the product. Our friends suggested Home Depot and we were relieved to find that they had this very comparable product in stock. We would have had to drive out of state to get more boxes from the other chain. Home Depot saved the day! We were able to continue installing our floors that same week. The color was a close match. Where it lacked in matching, we made up for by alternating between the two products. You would never know! So thankful for Home Depot!

        Fantastic!!
Love it!!! No need to special order the matched dye lots!! The grain & color variations in hickory are beautiful! Used 5 in stock boxes & our project turned out great! They all went perfectly together.

          used flooring
I loved this flooring, it looks amazing... my problem is I was sold a box of used flooring. The flooring had glue, caulk, a blue substance and holes in the wood and it was short 16 feet like no one wouldnt notice that ?... it had obviously been used and someone ripped it up and returned it to the store and they sold it to me... so I paid premium price for used nasty dirty flooring and HD solution for me is to drag that heavy long box back to the store... They were absolutely no help when it was their error

Last Floor in the house. Finished. All from Home Depot!
18 boxes with ~3sq ft of unuseable boards due to missing tongue or groove. not bad! Looks great installed. Floor squeaks from old floor are all gone.

          Beautiful flooring; long DIY install
This is a really good material! It is well made and thick (3/4 inch). The downside is that it is super heavy and the thin width makes for a really long install time. This is a nail down material, not floating, so a compressor is a must. Once laid down, it looks great and seems super durable. Overall I am pleased with this purchase and the value.

Great looking floor, pretty easy install
We installed this in a sun room, and it went in pretty easily. The only issue we had was with the brad nailer not being able to punch through the wood a few times on the last couple of rows when we could no longer fit the flooring nailer near the wall. There were only a few pieces that we did not use, one because the finish was messed up in the middle of the board (we ended up using the ends though), two because they were just too warped to get to lay down, and a couple of places where we couldn't use the full board because of knots. There were a few other boards where the tongue was partially ripped off, but we were able to use those just fine. There was a wide variety in lengths in the 10 boxes we bought, some boxes had a lot of small pieces, and some had mostly long pieces, so we had to pull from multiple boxes like they always say to. This was our first time doing hard wood flooring, and it worked out great. We had done some floating engineered wood in the past, but had to butt this up against cherry hardwood that was 3/4 in.

great looking hardwood floors for the money.
Home Depot had the best price on the product that we wanted for our re-model. No issues with damaged pieces or getting help at the store with large purchases. Thank you.

Have not installed it yet. We are saving to buy enough to do the whole house (2000 sq ft)
Love the looks and appearance with it next to our Gunstocks color Oak built in cabinetry. We liked it enough that I had to change the color of the tile floor for a bath room that is on the top of the "Have to repair First" list. The hardwood is second thing on this list. The first place this is going is in a bedroom that is being converted into a sewing/guest bedroom. Will send pics in a few weeks.

The floor looks fantastic. The only negative thing is that there are a lot of little pieces in each box. Excellent value for the money.

This Flooring is UNREAL!! Cozy beautiful hickory!! WOW!
We researched and researched. Visited so many flooring dealers but could not find what we wanted - a natural random beautiful wood floor. I found this on-line and immediately knew this was IT! Price was great - very little waste - as our boxes were opened it became even more beautiful. My installer kept telling me - I think this flooring gets better looking the more I lay it. He was amazed as were his helpers. We installed 44 boxes. Kitchen/family room/hall. Easy to clean. I would HIGHLY recommend if you like the random look. We actually like the 2 1/4" as it allows for more variation than the wider options. Makes a very interesting floor which has become a conversation piece in our home. Thanks HD!

We purchased this flooring to be installed in Kitchen dining room and a hall way. I installed in a few evenings after work went down well no problems.

Beautiful rustic look to our new wood floor
We purchased the wood and then hired a professional to install it in our 1900 farmhouse. The result is fabulous - the wood has a lot of character and variation of tone to the planks and be sure you are expecting that - we had already researched this and knew what to expect. The wood is very hard and a bargain price as I found hickory to vary in price from 2.75 for mill run that would have unusable boards in the mix to $7 for planks that had a more even tone. I am very happy with the look and feel of the floor for an excellent price! (we have two large dogs and no scratches after 2 weeks as well)

              unbelieveable for price!
I was apprehensive after reading the other review and only bought one box to look it over. It looked great and my wife loved it so I bought 6 more boxes. Almost no waste and only had 3 or 4 board feet of damaged/ugly material. I highly recommend this product and even the guys at a competitor thought the quality was excellent.

This flooring was so crooked it all had to be returned
The color of this wood is great, and we were very excited to see it in our new home. However, when our installer started laying it out in the room we were shocked to see how crooked, bowed, and poorly finished it was. All 24 cases of flooring are un-installable. Our professional installer said it was the worst wood he'd seen in 37 years. Not only was the finish flaking in places, but we'd put two pieces down together, and by the end of the length they'd be diverging by 2 inches or more. Pieces that looked straight were so warped they didn't lay flat, but teeter-tottered on their waist. Kudos to Home Depot customer service for accepting a return on all of the flooring. However, we now have to live in a house without floors until we can get new wood, get it acclimated, and schedule an install. I'd recommend that anyone considering this flooring ask for a quality check and have the install-ability of the wood guaranteed.
