I haven't installed the product yet so can't tell if it's okay. The delivery was less than spectacular though. It looked like it was dropped in my driveway and two of the cases were busted open and the flooring was dented and scratched. I ordered more product than I needed and hope there are enough undamaged pieces to cover the flooring. We'll see.

I ordered 32 boxes of Bruce Plano Marsh Red Oak 3.25 in for 700 Sqft of floor. I had installed vinyl plank flooring before but never 3/4 in hardwood. I watched a lot of different videos on youtube to see different methods how to install. I planned it out very well before starting. I give 5 stars all around. Quality is EXCELLENT! I had very few pieces that were not perfect but I used them along the wall to rip a thinner piece. I only had about 8 pieces left when I finished!

Got to admit this is my first order from Bruce hardwood flooring but I have been disappointed by how many defects in each box have been found. Maybe this is normal with type of product but seems a bit much to me. I bought 13 boxes probably will only be using 10-11 boxes of good quality.

The attached pictures tell the story/boards straight of the box/gross manufacturing defects detected by Bruce in some cases (boards had red/black/gray/yellow grease pencil marks) but boxed and shipped without regard to quality.1. Red grease pencil marks on multiple boards, visually you can see finish was sub-standard 2. Missing splines on multiple boards, many along the entire length of board 3. Large wood chips on 80% of boards at groove end of boards 4. Cracks at end of boards - not due to natural wood features 5. Edge of boards at ends undersized

Quality has gone downhill!! When we purchased this flooring 12 years ago we had very few problems with it. We bought more this weekend for another room and we are extremely disappointed in how the quality is now. There is so much waste in each box. Our main issue is the number of unusable pieces that have holes and other damage that are filled with wood filler from the factory. We understand this is entry level floor but this is terrible! Called Bruce, they basically said it's just how it is.

I installed a lot of Bruce Hardwood in the past but the current product is junk. You have to inspect every piece and every box has obvious bad product. I don't know what quality control process they have (obviously none) but it's criminal for the price . I will never recommend this product again to any of my customers as a installer, SAD. Not to mention the delivery to the store, ordered 42 boxes and three were destroyed, so now I had to complain about the obvious damage. They ordered 4 more boxes to be safe because they anticipate more store/ shipping damage. So 2 weeks later they come in and to my disbelief three out of the four boxes were damaged again . O my gosh you are joking that the store would even bother bringing them up front for customer pick up and to think a blind person was going to accept them. Unbelievable, now I asked to speak with a supervisor to try and change their process so someone else doesn't experience what I have and it turned into a argument with him basically telling me that's the way it is and nothing can be done to prevent this from happening to someone else going forward. Well if I owned stock HD I would have sold it that day. Unbelievable that any business let alone two can stay profitable with this mentality and management. I don't write reviews but I will on this experience.

Your website should state this is a discontinued item. As such I would have chosen a more common flooring to ensure supply would be available to complete my project. I spent 4hrs driving to various Home Depots to find 7 good boxes.

I have been putting down Bruce hardwood flooring since 1983 when I built my first house. I was never disappointed. About 5 years ago I installed the pre-finished hickory country natural. It was beautiful, rustic and the owner was delighted. Same house, same hickory, except this stuff is horrible. Tongues missing, planer burns, not squared end, and end grooves not deep enough to receive end tongue. Out of 21 boxes I have sent 20 back. I have lost my shirt on this job. HD was wonderful with return

The wood quality is very low and inconsistent. My order came in 2 batches and the first one (27 boxes) were very bad, see photos. However, the second batch (9 boxes) were just fine but it was too late for me to do anything about it. Make sure you give enough time to inspect all the wood before the installation.

Gorgeous oak flooring with lots of movement (patterns) and beautiful coloring.

The floor looks great with the low gloss finish. It was installed by a professional contractor who only does wood floors

Extremely poor quality flooring. We brought 2300 sq feet of Bruce hardwood. More than 40% defective. Delivery was a nightmare- the 2 guys who delivered did not have the right equipment. Highly unrecommend Bruce for any flooring need. I had to order 500 sq feet more since the project is already half way and need to buy more to complete the project.

Imagine buying four pallets of this and having to buy two more because of quality control. Yet, the manufacturer notes this is normal? Then make your displays representative of the product you are ACTUALLY buying. Wasting more time and money from a terrible vendor for claims? Sign me up for headaches and hassles with your product please, really? You have to SAND and RE-COAT the brand new product. Look at the pictures. This flooring will cost more than the expensive and better products.

This product is has too many color variations and the sealing is horrendous. Take a look at the pics. Any knots are actually holes and not sealed, you can use you nail to feel the hole. Not something you want to run across bare foot. Then the dealing is terrible, The pics show how the grain comes through since they did not put enough enough urethane on it during manufacturing. Crap flooring!

I ordered 9 boxes 5 inch and 6 boxes 3 1/4 inch. The 5 inch was fair to good. The 3 1/4 inch was a nightmare to get enough wood to finish the two rooms. I returned 2 full boxes of 5 inch one box not opened and the other re-boxed. I returned 1 full box of 3 1/4 garbage and would have returned another box but did not have quite enough to filled the second box. The 3 1/4 had flaws finish, tong, grooves, warped, etc. It was our intent to do another 700 to 1200 square feet in more rooms, but with quality of product!

We purchased 30 cases for 3 rooms to try to match old maple floors in house. PRETTY floor but looks somewhat like hickory with dynamic color variations. The large room pic in this ad is not accurate to our 30 cases at all. It is very pretty, but not what we expected. Installed well. The worst thing about this flooring BY FAR is the horrible finish on it. It is incredibly soft. SCRATCHES with any pressure. Expect to accept millions of scratches or expect to need to refinish within 2 years.

I recently have my living room done with this, sad, do not let Home Depot install it, get some one else, otherwise you’ll regret it. There are lots of bad pieces they keep install on the middle of my floor , it looks so bad😩!

Ordered 2 boxes of this to install in a small entry way so the carpet had something to butt up against when it is installed. Opened the boxes to install today and they are 2 completely different colors, despite both being labeled Shale! Where is the quality control? They are so completely different it would look ridiculous, and no it isn’t really natural variation, it is the whole box one color and the whole box the other. 1 is brown and 1 is the desired gray. Won’t buy Bruce flooring again.

Overall the floor looks really nice but there were several pieces that did not have an end groove cut, some end cuts were not square, some boards were wider/narrower than others - so much so that it would have left a gap wide enough to see the tongue and staples and, after it was installed and we walked on it, we noticed a lot of boards are thicker than others - all from the same lot number! Pay close attention when installing, it can be tricky. For the price, it should have been better quality.

We have used Bruce flooring in the past, but I have to say we were very disappointed in the quality of this hickory. Burn marks, finish on front scraped off, split and broken edges on back side. Really challenging to work around all the bad boards.

About 18 years ago I put this Bruce oak flooring on my entire first floor. Not all of the pieces were perfect but it was a good product and looks good. I’m now reflooring one of our bedrooms and recently purchased 8 boxes of the Bruce oak flooring to match the older flooring. The new Bruce wood is crap! It has knots, cracked pieces, discoloration and at least 50% unusable product. My suggestion open your boxes at the store and look at what you are purchasing.

I bought a box and found everything from a dark caramel color to a light beige sand color. If I was starting over, I would find a much higher quality product with more uniform quality looking boards.

Great flooring and nice color variations in wood grain. Excellent value compared to other options out there, Only thing I'd point out is there were a fair amount of manufacturer imperfections from case to case. If you want a very uniform looking floor this probably isn't for you. Overall, I am very satisfied and will likely buy more to finish upstairs now. Installed with 2 inch flooring cleats. Chose the 2.25 inch width for a more traditional look.

Looks great..Best decision I made, I was thinking about getting the unfinished and stain after installation. This product saved time and dust from accumulating in the home.

I bought a box and found everything from a dark caramel color to a light beige sand color. If I was starting over, I would find a much higher quality product with more uniform quality looking boards.

These floors were so beautiful only had a few bad pieces maybe like half a box. They feel soft to walk on and nice and shiny and perfect!!
