This is intended to supply a pressure source to the manufacturer's air filter monitor. It is intended to be connected to your furnace plenum between the blower and the furnace filter so that you can monitor the back pressure as the filter clogs and get a warning to change out the filter as needed.
I used it for a similar purpose. I installed it between the blower and the filter of the 6horse dust collector in my school shop and formed the tube into a U. Then I partly filled the tube with water and food coloring and mounted the U to a shop made scale to make a home made manometer. I can now tell at a glance if the filter is clogged or if there are too many blast gates open.
The kit is well made and it was easy to get an airtight seal between the supplied fitting and the filter plenum. The supplied Tygon tubing was perfect for making a manometer. But there is no reason why it would not work with equal perfection in the manufacturer's intended use.
If your air duct filter is located near the blower you can use this tubing with the Clean Alert Air Filter Monitor (sold separately) to evaluate the difference in pressure before and after the filter. This setup conceivably will more accurately detect a decrease in flow rate and therefore better indicate when a filter has become "dirty" and needs replacement. Presumably this rate will change depending on the air health of your home and likely will not follow an exact 1-3 month filter schedule. If your air duct filters are placed behind wall grates, this tubing is not needed. Overall though it's a bit pricey for tubing.
This is a great setup to complete the installation of your "Clean Alert Air System Efficiency Monitors". It is easy to install just drill a hole in the return duct large enough for the hose to go thru. Install the mount to the duct. Next inset the hose and connect the monitor. You are not set up to monitor the differential pressure across your filter. This is only the hose. It comes with the hardware to install it but It does not include the monitor.
Use this differential mounting tube kit in conjunction with you filterscan air filter monitor system to get a more accurate reading on when your air filters are becoming clogged and less efficient by measuring the differential air pressure. Very easy to install, comes with hardware to easily connect. Does not include the filterscan air monitor, which is sold separately.
