We added more usable space by adding the ColourTree Sun Shade Sails, built with care and made of premium 260 GSM 100% non-recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and patented heavy duty stainless steel mounting rings. Heavy enough to move gently in the wind, no fear of it tearing away anytime soon. Proven to hold up strong through wind, sun and rain, all the while providing cool shade and 95% UV blockage as well as lowering ambient temperature by at least 15°. Installation was easy with their corresponding hardware installation kit. Hang them over your patio, lawn, garden, backyard, swimming pool, driveway, etc. to keep your area nice and cozy. Very satisfied.

I received the Colour Tree 12 foot X 12 foot x 12 foot 260 GSM Reinforced (super ring) beige triangle sun shade sail screen canopy, patio and pergola cover. This is made in China. This has really heavy duty fabric and the ends are also quite heavy duty also. The 3 ends are different length cords, I am not sure why. It looks like it might hold up in our strong winds, although time will tell. It also did not come with any instructions, you just have to wing it.

Wow, this ColourTree 28 ft x 28 ft 260 GSM Reinforced Super Ring Brown Triangle Sun Shade Sail is a beast. This shade is so big that it's a massive upgrade over my previous triangle sail. I originally have a 12' x 12' sail that covered the spa of my pool, but after a really bad weekend of wind it broke free (it was also really old). I got this 28 footer in hopes of covering more space and boy does it. Now I cover my spa, the entrance to my pool, and my dining area (I was able to throw away my old dining table umbrella thanks to this shade). The material is super durable and strong. The stitching is so well done that there's no way this material rips under tension or releases the ringlets. The super ring is a huge upgrade over the standard ringlet style, as it comes with tensioning cable included to hook up to and the super rings are really big and beefy. The material is tightly woven so it will not let drizzle through, but accumulated rain will eventually come through at the material is permeable. It holds back harmful UV rays, but still lets just enough light through so it's not dark underneath. I definitely plan on buying more of these for other areas in my backyard, and I couldn't believe that it came in such a small box. Be mindful cutting the plastic straps that hold it together, because it's tightly bound the straps want to pop when you cut them, and it makes it really hard to get a blade or scissors underneath without cutting the fabric.

This is a review of the 12’ X 12’ X 12’ 260 GSM reinforced (super ring) beige triangle sun shade sail screen canopy, patio and pergola cover. Wow this ring system is fantastic, we use several sails around our property and this one is hands down the best. I can not overstate the quality of this ring. We use 2 of these 12’ triangular shaped sails to cover of KOI pond from the strong south Texas summer sun. These sails also keep us from loosing water through evaporation so quickly and help reduce the string algae growth in our KOI pond. Besides the high quality of the 3 rings, the shade part is made of premium 260 GSM high density polyethylene (HDPE). The heavy duty stainless steel mounting rings are patented. The sail is designed to survive strong wind, sun and rain. It has 95% UV blockage and 98% shade coverage and can reduce the ambient temperature by as much as 15 degrees. This sail resists drying out, tearing, fading, stains, mold and mildew with no maintenance required. This is perfect for deck, backyard, driveway, carport, pool, garden, patio, balcony KOI ponds and many other outdoor uses. I rated this a 4 because at each corner the material has a very slow reverse taper, the square foot coverage for this sail is reduced because of this. You can see it on my 2nd and 4th picture. We recommend this sail and please see our attached pictures.

First time installing a sunshade, I have this is my backyard covering a grassy area. I did this project over two (2) days as I needed extra time to set a post in concrete. The post is for connecting one point of the triangle shade. I used a metal fence post instead of a 4 X 4 wood post because it was a little cheaper and lighter to handle. Do take time to measure the yard, position the shade, and watch videos on install tips and avoiding pitfalls. Also, consider how this would look from the neighbor’s point of view, does this stick out above the fence line? Sometimes the colors can be too bold. I looked all over my property and it so happens that the backyard was the best location, it is secluded and not noticeable from the streets or neighbors. I went to the store to get more hardware (another turnbuckle, eye bolts, concrete mix, and wire rope) for the project, even though I got a “ColourTree” hardware installation kit. There were no installation instructions. So, you have to figure things out, a bit. Although it is 12’ on each side, it feels small underneath and yet for my situation, it is as big as the yard can handle. From an aerial view, it does occupy some visual space in the backyard. A large reason is the long wire rope between the posts and the corners of the sun shade. I should have a bigger shade for my yard. I managed to minimize the sag in the middle and luckily it seems to be somewhat porous. I have it fairly taunt, but still, it exhibits a sag. For the summer, this gives me an extra shaded space since the space under my patio is already crowded. It’s better than an umbrella. I do not like the material, it’s made of plastic (high-density polyethylene (HDPE)). At first, I thought it was an odd canvas material. That said, I am wondering about longevity as the summer sun and weather conditions here are harsh on plastic materials left outside. Also, even though it is supposed to be in beige in color, it gives off an orange effect. It says it has heavy duty stainless steel mounting rings, but there’s a wire rope that seems to be embedded along the edges of the shade. Meaning, I wasn’t sure whether to connect the guy wires to the ring or the wire rope. I’m impressed by the claims of 95% UV blockage and lowering ambient temperature by 15°. After installation, it does feel cooler. I will be waiting for the summer. These last few days have been cool, in the 70s and 80s. Not yet summer weather, temperatures are consistently in the 90s and 100s. As a DIY project, this is very do-able. This was my first time installing one of these. Take the time to look at connecting hardware. Use a wire rope for some longevity instead of nylon rope. So far, it’s a nice product. The color is more orange than beige. In my situation, I probably should go with a rectangle. I can’t wait for summer when the temperatures really climb and remain for days or weeks on end.

I'm showing my bias here for the ColourTree Super Ring (Reinforced) Sun Shade Sail by giving it an 'excellent' rating. I thnik 'good' is a better rating since the manufacturer does NOT include the mounting hardware (you have to purchase separately). However this sail IS a heavy duty brute and will (if installed correctly) hold up to strong wind and rain. The stainless steel mounting rings/wire on each corner are well made/attached; the sail's corners are reinforced and heavily stitched (though I'd like to see some cross-stitching here). I expect the shade sail to deliver on its promise to provide cool shade and I really welcome the 95% UV blockage. I previously reviewed the hardware kit and found it adequate BUT had issues with the length of screws provided (too short for some applications). I bought everything I needed to mount the sail at the HD hardware section and paid about the same price (as for the kit) but got much better quality items (rope hitches, carbiners, screws).

This sun shade sail is well made and strongly put together. The connecting fittings are very strong and are sewn and integrated to the sail and there is an internal steel cable to allow tight and strong suspension. The material is permeable but resistant to water by its tight weave. The double sewn seams are very strong. The sail requires a fixing kit to attach to the perimeter. Generally suspended from over 8-10 feet makes it passable for walking underneath. The center of the sail has a gravity droop so has to be hung above the planned height. The ends are fitted with self-captured nuts to a plate that holds the corners tight and secure. I used 1/8 inch wire cable to suspend it. It takes more than one person to get a 20x20x20 up easy.

The shade sail simply transformed how we utilize our backyard. It's easy to install, blocks the hard mid-day sun and even small rainstorms allowing us to peacefully enjoy the end of a meal or glass of wine on our backyard throughout the summer. A few things I really enjoyed about this sail 1.) It comes in a range of colors allowing us to match to our HOA guidance 2.) Material is strong and tightly woven blocking most sun and light rain 3.) Corners are metal reinforced allowing strong tensioning 4.) Tension cables along all three edges keep the sail from flapping or moving in the wind 5.) Can stay up permanently and resists thunder storms. Installation tips: 1.) Measure 3-4 times using rope to help measure the distances/angles you are using between mounting points 2.) Bring your measurements to Home Depot to grab the right equipment 3.) Start with your most important mounting point first. For me it was where it mounts into the house then work corner to corner 4.) Follow the online installation manual/videos on getting tension right The only thing I didnt like about the sail is that it didn't come with any instructions. It doesn't come with mounting hardware but that's because every installation is going to be a bit different. Otherwise this was an incredibly easy to install addition to the backyard

High quality workmanship. It is a nice sail. Doesn't shade a lot of space but if you only need partial shade for part of the day it works great for that. We wanted to shade some raised beds in the hottest part of the day since the beds heat up too much. This does not come with the hooks to hang it. That's a whole separate purchase. The color is a nice dark green. Not too flamboyant or too dark. Kind of an emerald color I'd say. No instructions came with it but we were able to figure it out. We weren't sure if you put the hooks on the wires sticking out of the corners or the metal plate on the corners. The hook kit we got is too small for the metal plates but was fine for the wiring part. It is a bit heavy so takes a couple people to put it up.

It’s a large sun shade. I hung mine on the side of my sun room, took up the whole side. I installed bigger stainless steel hooks below the gutters on the house and ended up digging and cementing a 4x4 almost 25 feet away. With the slack from the hooks and the turnbuckle I mounted on the 4x4 worked out good. The corners look like the loop area are made to last. Looks like it should hold up for many years.

This is great for my south facing back yard. We love our yard, but it can get very hot in the summer, and having some shade to duck into makes it more enjoyable. My wife thought it was shiny and looked a bit like a tarp, but it is much more sturdy than a tarp. The material is thick and strong, and unlikely to rip. When installing, make sure you attach it to something that's anchored well, like a deep rooted tree. You'll want to use something like a turnbuckle that can get it very tight.

I used this over a swimming pool in Arizona, where it was 118F the day prior, and the pool temp reached 95 degrees. We're hoping it would keep the temp below 90 and bring some much needed afternoon shade. But we needed the largest we could find, this 32' triangle just about fit the bill perfectly. First do some planning with exact measurements. You will probably find that at least one corner, possibly 2 makes the most sense. In at least 1 corner you will need to "crank" up the tension. Dry this shade probably weights 45lbs. Needless to say when installing over a pool, the material may get wet and it will get substantially heavier, which is hard to avoid when stretching 32' over a pool. The material is a very nice, clearly very durable (heavy duty), my green was more of a forest green than the bright green their images show. I actually like the forest color much more. The entire sail has a steel cable that goes around the entire sail, each corner has a aluminium bracket the cable goes in/out of with about 15" of cable loop, it also has a big hole which can be used fro attachment, but if you use these holes the cable loops will tighten up, but not completely. So it's difficult to tell how much will "stretch" to the other end in advance. The construction is very sound, very well made, I expect it to last in the AZ sun. Because of the give when installing using the metal hole, you kind have to "dry" fit two corners then tension up the last corner. This is not an easy DIY job, and cannot be done by one person (especially if the material gets wet). They sell a separate installation kit, that may or may not help depending on how you have to do you own installation. I would take especial care if you have trees's in the area, that might drop leaves onto the sail, unless tensioned properly these buildup on the sail, so you should try to set the sail up so leaves would drop off (one corner much higher than the other), not accumulate. I've now had my sail up a few days, and I really like the way it looks, and in the heat of the summer I finally have some shade, it's not exactly a solid shade, the sail lets some light through, it's not dense like a canvas would be, but it's more substantial than a wind screen would be. It's a well designed product, that appreciate having, and my pool temp dropped to 92 the first day it was installed!

This sun shade is a lot bigger than it originally appeared. I am not really fond of the color but it fits well over our pool deck area. We did buy the hardware to install the sun shade but once we got the hardware it was relatively simple to install and it looked great and it puts off a lot of shade for the pool area as well as the pump an other pool equipment. This definitely met our expectations.

Very happy with this shade. Construction is very sturdy. There's a steel cable that runs through each side that helps keep the sides from sagging too much. In addition to this, each of the corners have very stout bracing. Installation was straightforward since I already had anchor points and a post set up. The shade obviously allows water through, but it can still pool up in there.. Keep this in mind when setting it up - you want to install it at a slight angle so that water runs off. It's only been up a few weeks but it is holding up great and provides some much needed shade over the kid's playground.

I just got the box, large. I opened it and it wasn't the same color as the picture shown, it's more a forest green. I unfolded it and I'm impressed at the quality. I didn't realize that the cable was going to be stainless steel or that it went all around the perimeter of the exterior. I like the way the fabric is wrapped over the cabling and heat sealed. I did my best to send pictures of the cabling ends on the corners of the triangle. They're of rugged construction and look like they'll be sturdy. I like the quality of the fabric. It's light weight but very strong. It's a great product.

Well you definitely get what you pay for and there is no skimping on the quality with this sun shade. I have used other cheaper shades that just don't last more than a month before wear starts to show, But these shades are holding up very well. I am very pleased particularity on the construction and material used. And the canopy is HUGE! You may need two people to help rig up the canopy. Very well constructed. Looks like it is either double stitched or back stitched. The rings are solid metal and clamped with bolts onto the ends of the canopy. There is a cable that goes all around the perimeter of the canopy and slides throughout the edges of the canopy. A BIG PLUS so there is NO pulling on the material and no chance of ripping or tearing the canopy caused by the wind or the rigging. Only thing I do not like is that there is only three attachment points. It is workable but I just prefer 4 attachment points. But still with only the 3 attachment points this canopy still offers a LOT of SHADE!!! Very pleased.

This triangle sail is made of a different material than I expected. I thought it would be more canvas like, but it is more like a garden sunshade fabric. It will let rain through while blocking the direct sun. The hardware is quite heavy compared to the fabric. The loops are stainless and the cord running through the sail edges allows adjustment of the sail. I have a narrow side yard and ended up tying two ends to trees and the third to the side of my house. This was very easy to hang. It is not as tight as it should be or I would like, but it is the best I could do. It gives me a lot of shade from the afternoon sun without holding in the Texas heat.

I'm not impressed with this. First, as others have mentioned, there's no instructions. But more so, there's actually nothing. When they say no additional items are included, they meant it. No paper, name tag, visit our site to buy an installation kit, nothing. I was at least expecting some sort of packaging with a picture of what it would look like, but what you see is what you get. I can't even figure out which end goes up. It must not be sold in stores, because I wouldn't look twice at what looks like a folded up tarp. It's also not exactly what I was expecting, in terms of color and fabric. It really just looks like a really nice yard tarp. More black then green, it just doesn't look nice. It's very rough, but at least it's not meant to be touched. The location I was planning on using this is visible from the road, and it just looks bad, again, like a yard tarp. The size is fine, and the material seems sturdy, and that it will definitely do a good job creating shade, but at what cost. In the guide on the website, it says there's 3 Year Limited Warranty on Standard Sun Shade Sails, Waterproof Sun Shade Sails and a 5 Year Limited Warranty on Super Ring Sun Shade Sails, but there's information on how to get it, so I'm not counting on it. There is a Colourtree Hardware Kit on the website, but the one specifically for a Super Ring is not available online or in store, and instructions linked on the listing are the same as on the sail, so I'm not thinking it would be very helpful. Out of the box, it also smelled pretty bad, so i had to leave it outside for a week or so for it to dissipate. If a future edition comes with actual packaging and literature, I'd consider it, but I would no way get this as is, and definitely not in this color.

I am looking forward to getting my new "COLOURTREE 24 FT. X 24 FT. 260 GSM REINFORCED (SUPER RING) GREEN TRIANGLE SUN SHADE SAIL" installed so I can enjoy more time on my west-facing deck. In the summer, its normally pretty hot from morning until about 2pm, so I think this sun shade will help make it more enjoyable to be on the deck. It comes securely packaged, but there are no instructions on how to hang it. I suggest watching a few YouTube videos to get the idea how to install it. One note, make sure you order the correct size for your area... Mine is not show up and installed in the pictures as I have a few items (like more wire cable, turnbuckles and thick wood-screw eyebolts), to purchase before I can mount it. Each corner comes with a very strong and secure ring arrangement where the wire cables that connect to each ring are embedded in the outer seams of the shade. This will help to keep it taunt as its stretched and mounted and appear to give it its stability. The fabric appears to be durable and is fairly light weight considering the size of the shade.

I just wanted some additional shade in the yard. This COLOURTREE 20 FT. X 20 FT. 260 GSM Forest Green Color blends in with the other greenery in the yard. The 260 GSM materi is extremely strong so I anticipate years of usage. They reinforce Hemming along with the wire cabling to attach to your support Pole's. The metal eye loops also makes a stronger way of hanging the shade sail.

The connecting rings on each end of the sun sail are very heavy duty and should stand up to the weather outside I am using ours at the farm where I am in the process of installing an above ground pool for some shade and it will also help keep the water temp in the pool a little cooler. I wished you could get the sun shade sail with post to connect the sail to.

The easiest solution for fast shade for a new above-ground pool. Absolutely wonderful! I would not be able to enjoy our pool otherwise. This not only provides shade for me, but will keep the water cooler (and no leaves or blooms in the pool.) We temporarily attached it to our tall privacy fence posts using rachets/straps, until our Colourtree installation kit arrives (optional). The three attached cables will each easily go around a 4” square post. We’d like to hang it higher so we will cement three tall post deeply into the ground. This shade sail is very large and slightly heavy so it will be much easier to hang with two people. Photo is of the 28’ x 28’ shade sail over a 24’ round pool. Although the fabric isn’t what I had imagined, which was some type of Canvas, it is very strong, reinforced and durable. The three ends with grommets are of the highest quality – strong. We did not fear tearing away the fabric or grommets when we were pulling it tight.

COLOURTREE 32 ft. x 32 ft. 260 GSM Reinforced (Super Ring) Green Triangle Sun Shade Sail Is an irregular shaped but designer appearance sunshade. Very heavy duty metal grommets and wire reinforced the full length of all three sides for a solid securing surface that can handle the wind. The material is sturdy plastic woven colored. You will need to purchase mounting hardware the mounting choices are many.

It is what it is , Not really sure the specs are all correct in the sizing all stretched im getting 23 x 23 feet . the patient stainless steel looks like it a cast of stainless particles and plastic . It scratches running a screwdriver tip across giving a plastic looking filing. Its solid but not sure i would call it stainless steel. The color green is dark and does block the sun and heat. I mounted this using adjustable straps to my brackets allowing me to tighten the slack once up. Good price point sail shade.

My initial thought when the sail arrived was is that it? It came in a smallish box you can see in my photos. When I opened it up the first thing I noticed was the material. It was thick but Plasticky I guess.I have had a few swing seats and the canvas is nowhere near as good as this . They only ever seem to last a season in Florida. I,m hoping the sail will last a lot longer. The sails corners have stainless steel Corners which shouldn't rust and like a cable wire around the perimeter of the sail so pretty good quality. There was no hardware to install the sail and I have to get a few posts and concrete them in before the sail goes up. Overall the sail is a decent size and quality how long will it hold up in Florida is another question and maybe another review.

I was in need of a very large sail and this high quality COLOURTREE 20 FT. X 20 FT. 260 GSM REINFORCED (SUPER RING) GREEN TRIANGLE SUN SHADE SAIL was the perfect solution. I use these around my home for many purposes and most I have used are thin and have a short life. This sail is heavy and the weave is very tight. This is a darker tarp so if this is used to cover a boat, etc... I recommend a lighter color to reduce the internal heat. The grommets are heavy duty which is a plus and the integrated wire will assure a longer lasting life especially on windy days. We are adding an outdoor theater area that is in the direct sun and this gem will provide ample shade while waiting for the sun to fall while setting up during these summer months. . I highly recommend this shade and feel it will last longer than any I have owned due to the quality built into this shade. Very pleased with the tarp and reinforcements! Very nice.

I really REALLY like the concept and the high quality of this product! This green triangle “sun shade sail” is touted to block 95% of the UV spectrum and still allow sunlight. Close inspection reveals it is obviously a material other than cloth, but it looks fine when mounted overhead. The product is well made, with steel rope straps sewn into the sides between the stainless-steel connectors at the corners. Permanent installation is NOT a casual DIY project. The "sail" must be securely attached at the three corners to walls or posts. Connecting hardware is purchased separately. PS: I was first introduced to tarp sun shades 15 years ago in Qatar, and they are ideal in that environment. I am glad that Home Depot is making these available here in the United States. I recommend this especially for southern California, Nevada, Arizona, west Texas, and south Florida.
