Nice heater. The problem was it was too small for the existing hole. It should have come with a trim to cover larger holes or at least make them purchaseable. Installing was a breeze, but making trim ring was very time consuming.
Nice but...it should have included more

Good bye BASEBOARD HEAT! Hello CADET! Recommended to me by AC Electric, I purchased these when my electric baseboard heating started acting up. I also got a (Comes separate) digital thermostat to read the room. This heater IS considered "noisy." It's enough to let you know it's on, but also a forced air to know it's running. An electric fireplace is noisier then these heaters. I'm not picky at all, so the noise doesn't bother me. It's more of a white noise then an irritation noise. Took less then an hour to install. The heater has to be six inches above the floor and a foot away from any type of furniture or window. So please read your placement to be covered under warranty. It will be positioned where the main unit of your baseboard heat operates. Sadly it means you will have a bigger project, if your baseboard unit is behind a door or too close to a piece of furniture. (Mine was behind a door.) A DOWN FALL: The hole that needs to be cut for this unit is the size of a sheet of typing paper. Not very big- and gets mounted to a stud. Again, quick install, easy clean up. Just watch your placement. My bathroom left me with a 4'x8" hole in my wall, because we had to center place the heater. If this is the case, purchase drywall and some insulation. You're gonna need it. A PLUS: You can mount it inside a "Fake" Cupboard and secure the wiring, so you do not have to interrupt any bathroom or kitchen space. This heater is allowing me to have 12 feet of cupboard and counter space back into my kitchen!! That is how much space, one baseboard heater takes up! ELECTRIC BILL: I flipped three rooms at a time. The first three I flipped dropped my electric bill by $50!! Baseboard heaters run phantom heat (Always runs @ 40 degrees) Cadets, when off, they are off. The temp in my house in the summer, dropped 5 degrees upstairs, when I replaced the three units. I also have heat in my hallway for the first time ever. I have already recommended this heating to several people. All are flipping their baseboard heat.

Replaced wall baseboard heaters with these units
In several of rental units we replaced old baseboard units with these cadet heaters. They are much more efficient and heat up individual rooms quickly.

Works great, looks great. It heats a medium sized room quickly. Installation was done by a professional, but it was quick and easy. It is slightly louder than I was expecting, but not so loud that it’s unusable. It’s about as loud as a bathroom exhaust fan (1-2 sones).

Exactly what I was looking for! I got 2 of these for my basement which is separated into 2 rooms and they work great! They don't get too hot to the touch (important with kids), easy install, and warm the room fast and much better than a space heater!

We gottwo of these heaters for an old house with no heating system. They went in the bedrooms. They were easy to install if you are handy. They work wonderfully. You can set the thermostat and it will automatically keep the room nice and warm. I would highly recommend them.

Great Additional heat you can add anywhere
When I remodeled my bathroom, I decided to vault the ceiling. Which added an additional 168 cubic feet of space. I tried to compensate by adding a 6 foot hot water baseboard, 4 feet longer than the original 2 footer that was there. which was enough, but on those really cold mornings if the heat didn't kick in yet the floor would be cold and the air a little chilly for taking a shower. I decided to give the Com-Pak 1000 watt heater a try. I had a 220 volt line running thru the attic I could tap into, since it was a dedicated line for an air conditioner it would be fine because I would never be using both at the same time. I did however change the circuit breaker to a GFCI since the heater was less than 2 feet away from the shower. Total installation time was less then 2 1/2 hours. Now in the morning when I go in to first use the bathroom, I turn the heater thermostat to high, and a few minutes later the bathroom is really hot, which is just the way I like it to take a shower in the winter. An average DIYer could easily tackle this project with the exception of the electrical. If you are not experienced it definitely pays to hire an electrician to run your 220 line. This is a solid well made heater and should provide years of warmth

      Good Extra Heat
There is a small room that does not get enough heat from the central hvac system. This Cadet Com-Pac in wall electric heater fit the bill. I did not install this myself as a 240 line needed to be run by the electrician. Other than that, it was not a difficult unit to install. I watched as only a few steps with a few parts, wire connecting and screws were needed. This unit has a built in thermostat, so no wall thermostat is needed. As I did not notice that beforehand, I was glad not to have to go out to get one. This heater puts out a decent amount of heat and the fan is pretty quiet.

      Looks and performs great.
Works well. Looks nice. Unfortunately, I was replacing an older, larger heater set in a non-plaster wall. After removing the old heater, I framed in a smaller opening to accommodate the new smaller heater. That left voids left and bottom which I filled in with strips of luan. I then cut molding with mitered corners to make a picture frame, painted it to match other accent trim in the room, and attached around the heater to the wall with a brad nailer. Looks quite nice.

Good heat, compact and clean look!
Easy to assemble and install. Good and simple wiring connection. Nice finish with the grill and it performs as expected. The only minor detail is that the knob of the thermostat is off-center with the stamped circle on the grill, otherwise I would have

Great Product, as advertised and heats well!
This is the second Cadet heater product that I have installed. It is a great value as well as easy to install. product came with a built in thermostat so wiring was a breeze. I am using this product to heat a bedroom and it fits right into the scheme of the room, small, compact and heats up right away. I am still working on the room and it is already suppling heat to keep us toasty as we finish the job. I purchased the 220 volt version as the cost will be cheaper than the 110 version. Highly recommend this product and the Home Depot web site.
