We really like the copper handles we selected for our GE Cafe appliances that we purchased in matte black. They compliment the matte black very nicely and are extremely well made. All metal, no flimsy plastic parts. The copper is a light, pinky-rose sort of copper and not a true copper but they are lovely nonetheless. We looked for a long time for kitchen appliances with copper handles and knobs. Really glad we found this line from GE.

Quality is so low, it's criminal
We've owned a GE Cafe microwave for about 4-5 years. It looks great!
Unfortunately the parts of the microwave that you actually touch feel flimsy and break easily.
First to go was the dial. The inside has this little plastic stalk that mounts on a post. The stalk is made of this incredibly cheap plastic coated in some kind of foil. It's brittle and breaks very easily.
This was replaced under warranty, but was otherwise a $40 part.
Next to go was the door handle. Same problem. The bottom door attachment ibroke off. Looking inside, it's the same cheap foil coated plastic and it just snaps off.
Like with the dial, the first time this happened the door was replaced under warranty.
But then it happened again. Now out of warranty- and the handle is $140!! Absolutely criminal fo a $700 appliance.
Stay away!

Knob will not come off
I ordered this set in stainless to replace the brushed bronze it comes with. I CANNOT get the brushed bronze knob off. I called GE and they told me to “just pull”. Nope. I am afraid it will break off and then it will be on me to cover repairs. Help!
